A Meeting in the bushes

How ever lucky was he? Whisperings crossed from cat to cat like the common cough and it wasn’t long before he caught word of it. A gathering of felines hellbent on- well he wasn’t quite sure what they were convinced of but hell if he cared. If anything could get loners and rouges to gather peacefully it ought to have been some bloody crazy cause. Rooster considered himself more of a chaos seeker, where trouble was found was where he wanted to be.

The mush of scents invaded him before the excited chatter did, lots of different voices and so far no screaming. Which meant, by the grace of a higher power it was going well.

There was now a drumming of excitement in his chest. With a hefty breath he puffed his chest full of air and shouldered his way into the clearing. There was a bit of a chill, nothing bad, but the wind happened to stir at the wrong moment sending a few leaf debris into his eyes. The tom blinked aggressively to rid himself of the dirt just as he stepped into the clear and was met with the sight (incredibly blurry) of a ragtag gathering.

He gave his face a good swipe with a paw and toddled his ways into the further most rings of felines. He noted that he wasn’t the latest and surely wouldn’t be the last. More would trickle in. Gosh. Nobody was ever on time these days.

A toothy grin replaced his bland expression as he butted shoulders with a finger rom who happened to have come in moments before himself. “Late? Tsk tsk. Now how are we ever gonna find out what’s happening?” he rubbed shoulders with Peach before passing him to squeeze closer to.. err Mr Ringleader.

Confidently the tom plopped onto his butt just as comfortable as he’d be in his own home. He dragged a tongue over his chest fur to press it more presentable- not that he needed to care really. Of all the cats in attendance- he probably was the prettiest anyways. He debated interjection into conversation, though based on that nearly feral look in half the crowd face he wasn’t sure he wanted to poke that many buttons today.

“Did I come at the right time? Has everything been figured out yet or are we still… divided?” his eyes skipped between the cats who were having separate conversations about violence and.. whatever else before drifting subtly back to Mr Ringleader. It was then that another feline took off, his gravelly voice following him out of the clear.

Rooster followed with his neck arched until he couldn’t see the bushes move anymore. “What a crowd.” he hummed, a tinge of amusement and pity crossing his face.

Night was relieved he was accepted into this group, he really wanted to talk with some people. He sat down near the crowd and waited for someone to come by.
