Alyson quickly threw a rock at it and it squawked and flew up in the sky, right then Alyson quickly shot the arrow at the shrew. She didn't know what happened because everything went fast and she felt like she missed, ``Let's go find it Shade.`` She looked at the direction where she shot her arrow and put her bow and arrows back in her backpack.

Shade stepped back a little bit, just watching patiently as she watched Alyson work her magic. She watched her throw a rock, which was a little bit questionable at first to her, until she also saw the THRUSH suddenly fly up into the sky, and then heard the sound of an arrow being shot, followed by seeing the bird disappear from being hit by the arrow, in which she was filled with awe. She then ran up to Alyson and said, "That was cool!" in a happy tone, giving a nod as she said that they should go find it. To her, Alyson was the best caretaker she could ever have.

Shade stepped back a little bit, just watching patiently as she watched Alyson work her magic. She watched her throw a rock, which was a little bit questionable at first to her, until she also saw the shrew suddenly fly up into the sky, and then heard the sound of an arrow being shot, followed by seeing the bird disappear from being hit by the arrow, in which she was filled with awe. I searched up shrew and found images of weird looking mouse things ;-; So uhh... let's pretend that was a thrush bird instead :3))

Alyson walked towards the direction of her arrow, She the found it, but the arrow was stab on the THRUSH'S wing and the bird was struggling to get free. Alyson looked at Shade then at the bird, ``Sorry bird.. we have no choice.`` She said as she got out another arrow, ``You might not want to see this Shade.`` She warned.

Shade let Alyson pat her on the head, then followed her towards where the thrush landed, seeing the arrow on the wing and the bird struggling to get free. She then watched as she took out another arrow, and when Alyson told her that she might not want to see this, she asked, "But don't other dragons hunt to survive?" watching her actions with the arrow she pulled out and not looking away.

Alyson sighed, ``Yeah, you do have a point.`` She said, ``This was suppose to help teach you hunting lessons`` She murmured, ``Here, just try to bite it on the neck so you can kill it.`` She said, ``Don't be scared though.`` She assured Shade calmly.

When she heard her tell her to try and bite it on the neck to kill it, she gave a nod, padding up to the bird and looking down at it as it squirmed. When she calmly assured her to not be scare. she bent down, putting her teeth around its neck, careful not to get hurt by the arrow, as well as trying not to break the arrow. She then bit down a bit hard on its neck, hoping to kill it. At one point, she did pierce the flesh on the neck, tasting the blood as it oozed onto her tongue. She then released the bird and backed away to see if it was still squirming.

When she saw the thrush stop moving and close it eyes, she felt happy to have killed it in her way. When she heard Alyson say that she did it, she felt a bit happier. She then watched her take the arrow out of the bird, and when she said that the next lesson was going to be her hunting by herself, she did feel a bit afraid of that, but felt better when she said she would be with her, and that she just wants her to use her own way of hunting, which she understood, since she was a dragon and Alyson was a human. She then said, "I should probably get used to certain scents of certain animals then, right?" already sniffing the air for any close scents.

thank goodness!fern thought and walked back to her den! knowing this would feed her for a while
