Smallleopard gave out a small mrrow of laughter. "You don't have to be so formal with me." She stepped back to her apprentice's side, now feeling a bit more warmed up to her. "I'm your mentor, not your mother." She said before quickly adding, "Though, I do appreciate your respect." not wanting to seem rude. She gave a delighted glance at Dawnpaw. This was going very well. Dawnpaw seemed intelligent, respectful, and friendly. To put it simply, Smallleopard couldn't have asked for a better first apprentice. "That right. Good job." She gave a quick nod in approval, before further questioning Dawnpaw's deduction abilities. "So what clan is known for fish and marsh?" Smallleopard preferred allowing Dawnpaw to figure it out for herself, feeling she would understand better if she had discovered it for herself.

Dawnpaw felt her pelt prickle with pride that she'd gotten it right. But she had to think about the next question for a moment. "Oh I know!" Dawnpaw cried enthusiastically. "Riverclan!" She hopped up and down on her paws in anticipation.

He started smelling the air to make it look like he was looking for something when he smelled a rabbit he jumped in the air with a quick bite the rabbit was dead. "Nice catch!" She congratulated him. "Swift for sure!" Emberpool smiled in a friendly way, then waved her tail for them to continue. "We've made so much noise, the birds have left this part of the forest!" She laughed.

“Ya.” He said. He jumped on top of Emberpool with his claws not out. He laughed just playing around he lined her on the ground. “Ha got you.” He chuckled.

She squealed and batted at his face with her claws sheathed. Her paws pummeled his belly until she finally was able to shove him off. Emberpool lunged at him and pinned him with her claws still sheathed, looking down at him victoriously. "Ha, now I got you."

“he said with a smile. He missed this. When he was younger he used to play all the tim but when his sister died he felt empty. Now he doesn’t any more.

Smallleopard waited in anticipation for her apprentice's answer. She could feel Dawnpaw would get it right. She seemed knowledgeable enough. The moment Smallleopard enjoyed most, was when she saw the answer light up in the apprentice's eyes. She could almost feel when she was an apprentice herself again, with the excitement of new knowledge, and sense of belonging. It was such a fond memory for her, and getting to pass this joy of knowledge onto someone else only increased her love and sense of loyalty to her clan. She stood for a moment, wondering how kittypets, loners, and rouges could bear not being in a clan. "Yes, wonderful job." She purred gently, signaling to her apprentice that she had done a good job. She took one more cautionary glance over the border, before turning around and padding away. "Well let's move on, but I warn you the next territory may not be so obvious! You'll have to rely on your eyes for the next one. Smelling their scent won't give you many clues."

Emberpool jumped off of him obediently. Her tail swished around the leaf litter and nodded her head in agreement. "Your sure right we can't. We're warriors!" She agreed. "Now, we came out to hunt, so let's hunt some more before all the prey goes into their holes for today."
