Adderpaw walked over to see what was going on and saw that it was Fadingsun starting the meeting. She wondered where Birdsnow was at this time but cast it off. Leaders were always so busy and to be honest she wasn't sure what all the proper jobs were between the deputy and leader. Deputy was the mini leader after all... Hm..

She heard the deputy's voice call out, and she felt a sinking sensation weigh her paws down. She didn't want anymore bad news...but the small ginger she-cat crept out of the shadows of the warriors den and slowly made her way toward the Floodstone. She set her green gaze upon Fadingsun, silently waiting now that she was sitting.

Riverclan as a whole has faced much lost in the past moons, the same wounds being inflicted over and over without time to heal or at the very least scar over. It showed in the way warriors didn't know how to behave or do there jobs, it showed in the way cats talked back when they shouldn't, it showed in the patrol turnouts, and among those scars came one that was universally shared. The scar reared its ugly head as Seabreeze turned his gaze to the familiar call, fear snapping its incisors into his heart, his first thoughts had been of Birdsnow's death. Though just as quickly he frowned and shook his head to clear himself of such thoughts. Birdsnow was good, Birdsnow was okay. She had to be, Riverclan couldn't handle anymore loss. So Seabreeze padded from the fresh kill pile to the floodstone. Fadingsun was awaiting for the clan to gather and just as swiftly as some did, they began to howl for answers, the wound bleeding. One voice that he didn't expect to hear but should've been Rainpaw, Birdsnow's apprentice. Seabreeze would've expected that the apprentice that was mentored to the clan leader would know better than to yell at their deputy before Fadingsun even had a moment to speak.

Seabreeze was fearing the worst but hoping the best and despite that he knew that his worries would be addressed, most likely, the next things that would come from Fadingsun's mouth would be about Birdsnow and why he was leading the next meeting rather than her. As much as Seabreeze wanted to jump to Fadingsun's defense, to tell his clan mates that the deputy would be answering all of their most asked questions in just moments, but that wasn't his place. More importantly, Seabreeze thought that Fadingsun would have to be the one to defend himself and use the opportunity to prove himself a worthy heir. He wouldn't be able to do that if Seabreeze or any other jumped in to do so for him. The sandy grey-blue tom instead sat, taking a seat nearer to Mistyshard. His blue eyes were trained on Fadingsun as he waited for the deputy's words.

Toadpaw arrived. Why was Fadingsky calling a clan meeting? He was only the deputy and calling clan meetings was the leader's job, even if Birdsnow still didn't have her leader's name. Had she gone missing or died? Toadpaw honestly didn't care what had happened to Birdsnow. It didn't care who was leader. She could eventually become a lionheart or the deputy, though she did want to eventually become deputy and then leader whether she became a lionheart first or not no matter who was leader.

Rabbitpaw arrived. She guessed. She still wanted Blossomkit back... She should be an apprentice with her... Why did Blossomkit have to die? Why?
Wishpaw arrived. Sigh... Birdsnow had died or gone missing too hadnt she? Usually she wouldn't jump to conclusions, but it was the only reason the seven-moon-old could think of for why Fadingsky was calling meeting. '

Sparrowpaw arrived. She guessed Birdsnow had either died or left the clan, showing why trusting other cats was stupid and foolhardy. They might leave you. She didn't really care which.

Dunlinkit arrived. Why was Fadingsky calling a clan meeting? Wasn't he only the deputy and wasn't it the job of the clan leader, who she was pretty sure was Birdsnow, who didn't have her leader name for some reason to call clan meetings? Had Birdsnow died or gone missing? Birdsnow was the only leader she could remember, being only two moons old, despite being massive for a kit her age, but Dunlinkit knew that RiverClan's high ranks hadn't been stable for quite a while.

Catfishkit arrived.

The two-moon old Sunkit watched impatiently from the nursery, curious as to whether or not the meeting would last an entire half-day or not.

cobwebpaw padded gently up to the meeting, tail swishing. her good eye squinted at fadingsun, other eye still cobweb-covered and healing. she wondered a bit where birdsnow was, reminded when her bad eye throbbed painfully. birdsnow had been the one to drag birchpaw away from her when she had.. done that to cobwebpaw. she was forever grateful.
