Overview
Sunkit is born to noble warrior Firestorm and great Medicine cat Lightningstorm on a quiet night in new-leaf. Almost as soon as she enters this world something is wrong with her. Sunkit - named for her bright spots against inky black fur - does not cry. She does not laugh. She doesn't really do much of anything. She is a husk, an empty shell.
Or is she?

Her relationship with her parents is tense. She is familiar with Firestorm; comfortable even. Lightningstorm? Something is broken there. Why is that? Why does Sunkit hate one of her mothers so?

As she grows up, Sunkit will deal with an intense identity crisis. Who exactly is she? Who does she want to be? Who does she need to be? I have lots of plots in mind for this child, and I would love to plot with both of the parents for even MORE good tea.

the first thing to know about little sunnykit is that he is, for lack of a better word, a crybaby. especially in his early kit hood, anything from a baby bird falling out of the nest to arguments between his siblings is enough to get him going. he feels deeply, and finds tears to be the best way to express these big emotions.

naturally, as he ages he will mature out of this. by adulthood he will be fairly emotionally stable, if a tad sensitive.

somewhere in his late kithood or early apprenticeship, he’ll begin taking on a bit of a ‘mediator’ role - which in his mind means stopping any and all arguments as quickly as possible (whether between friends, siblings, or his peers). according to his, perspective arguing = conflict; therefore if he stops the disagreement, then he stops the conflict. nevermind addressing the root cause - this will not cause any issues whatsoever in his development and maintaining of relationships in the future (: [wink wink nudge nudge]

now to address some quick ooc stuff (aka the boring part)

- preferred birth order is the middle child
- while i am very fond of the name sunnydew, it’s not set in stone. i’m planning on letting him develop naturally, so if another suffix suits him by the time he reaches warriorhood, i’d rather him have that name than his pre-planned one.
- if you’d like to wade through some much less legible rambling, i have my brainstorming doc where i threw spaghetti at the wall to see what stuck here

The flash of light that brightens the night sky as Lightning strikes the earth. The steady glow and fierce occasional embers that crackle from a fire by a foggy lake.

Aesthetics: Fairy lights, Sunshine spotting on an over crowded, lush forest floor, Firefly's on a tall grass meadow, the rich orange sunrise that has highlights of pinks on cold Winter mornings.

Book Description: A lithe cream molly with splatters of soft orange and black striped spots. Medium fluffy fur and dull hazel eyes.
Fur: Medium length, very fluffy makes her come across as slightly bigger than she is.
Base Color: Off white borderline cream.
Patterns: Splatters of dull orange, brighter dull orange, Black, grey and lighter grey littering her back, tail and front left paw. Black partial tabby markings also on her back, tail , paws, back legs and face.
Eyes: a very dull hazel, could be mistaken for brown.
Height: Long gangly legs, a very lithe molly although her fur helps make her seem a little more fleshed out.

For now, assume that the kit is a black ghost tabby, that's my first choice but idk yet if it's genetically possible

if black ghost tabby: Ghost/Coal(will submit ticket if needed)/Ash/Cinder/kit

Appearance: currently undecided between (A) a medium-furred calico with mostly white base and (B) a medium-furred orange tabby with a white blaze, underside, and tail tip or (C) a ghost tabby if that's possible? with white paws and blaze (I'm heavily indecisive okay axcjiosenghosixcjsk). Either way, they'd have a pretty stocky build that allows them to jump pretty high, as well as be a formidable opponent for warriors older than them.

General Personality (for time-saving purposes): Brave, bold, reckless, mischievious, naive, loyal

Background info: [name] is a bold kitten, who, much like their mother, wants to become the clan leader and rule one day. They enjoy mischief (because who doesn't need a laugh once in a while?) and often put themselves in risky situations to prove to others that they're brave, when in reality, it's themselves that they need to prove it to. Given that Firestorm is a warrior, [name] attributes their bravery and obviously best genetics to their father, whom they believe is a well-respected warrior as well. They love to badger older cats and Firestorm about the deeds that the warriors have accomplished (particularly involving fighting), and wish to do something similar for their clan when they're older.

Plot Ideas: Perhaps when/if they learn about their “Dark Forest conception” (not sure what to call it), they begin to seriously doubt their own skills as a warrior/apprentice because (A) they don't think having a medicine cat parent is cool and their lineage will only drag them down, and (B) they think that their bravery could be stemming from the evil ambition that Dark Forest cats have, so over time, they distance themselves from their family and do even more rash things to prove that "oh I'm not like the Dark Forest cats because I'm actually brave." This would ultimately end when they (as a warrior?) go on an expedition themselves (for some reason like fighting a fox, again I'm indecisive jafwoejd) only to be saved by their littermates while they suffer from intense injuries. Then, they would be confined to the medicine den for a few months (due to rest and healing, luckily no permanent injuries), during which they would begin bonding with Lightningstorm and their littermates and turn back into their original selves (bold, funny, respected, unaffected by their past but determined to change their future, etc.)

 

“I’m fine,” (name) growled. “I don’t want your stupid grass on my wounds! Let me out of here! Let me go show them foxhearts another taste of my claws!”

After burying their kill, (name) turned around, scanning the air. They caught a whiff of… something. It smelled suspiciously like badger. Was it the one that Twilightstar had been meowing about? “You go on, (fellow patrol member). There’s a little… something that’s dying to meet my claws,” they meowed, chuckling and examining their unsheathed paws.
