"Well, yeah. I'd need Starclans blessing to even have a chance with somebody as wonderful as you" Amberstorms words came out smoothly and he was 90% sure it sounded cheesy. He sighed a few seconds later and let his nose dig partially into her fur "And i'll always be thankful for that."

Maplefur gave out a slight laugh, and her heart skipped again. That was so sweet! The molly was practically melting under his touch. "I'm pretty sure I was the one needing Starclan's blessing." Her thoughts suddenly flicked to Fria. Oh, I'll have to find a time for them to meet! Fria will definitely approve... I wonder how her and Blade are doing.

"Or maybe we both had it. It was pretty random to just suddenly bump into somebody in camp." Amberstorm thought back to the time they met "But yet again, so was me just randomly blurting out that i had a crush on you." Even though it was just a few minutes ago it felt so much longer...

"I guess everything about us is pretty random, huh?" Maplefur meowed. She looked up at Amberstorm. "I wasn't expecting you to say that," she admitted. A thought suddenly occurred to her. "Hey, I was asking you why you said you'd be dead if it wasn't for me... You're not trying to avoid that, are you?" She narrowed her eyes at him. "Talk," she demanded. "Now that I'm your mate, it's my job to comfort you. It's also my job to pester you about everything that I want to know."

"Well uh..." Amberstorm had been avoiding that subject. "i... was uh... always the guy in the corner who never tried to do anything amazing or tried any risks... and... before you met me i was always considering what would change if i was... a member of starclan..." He swallowed once but continued "Eventually i convinced myself that i would never cause anything to change so i would go down with a fight if anything bad would happen to the clan... I decided to end everything with a risk... my first true risk... And if i hadn't met you... once this all began i probably would have been killed..."

(Character development methinks.)

Maplefur stared at Amberstorm with wide eyes. If he had died, and he wouldn't be here right now... She didn't even want to think about it. She pressed her head against his shoulder, even more grateful to have him by her side. "Nothing would've changed for the better, I can tell you that," she murmured softly.

Maplefur still pondered on the subject. "If I never met you, then it wouldn't be as drastic as death for me, but after all this mess I'd probably run off and be a rogue or loner. I'd never have you as a mate, and I'd never get the opportunity to have-" she cut off once she realized where her thoughts were going, her fur heating up. That's a conversation for another time "Maybe I'd end up with my sister Fria though, who knows. You guys will have to meet some time- I think you'd like her." The calico thought back to when Fria had asked her to stay the night, and Maplefur had declined her offer. I told her no, because it wouldn't be fair to my clan... and because I didn't want Amberstorm to worry. I've cared for him longer than I realized.
