poetry lane

To get right to the point, I love writing poems. It's my favorite way to get my emotions out, even if it is just a few verses. So I wanted to make this thread because maybe some other people would like to share their poetry or perhaps they just wanna try it out. I'll go first:

each beat of my heart
brings me back to the start
when the sea met the sand
i slowly raised my hand

for a moment, it was you and i
i waved a small "hi"
the bright blue skies
could never compare to your eyes

we laughed and played
our silly kid games
i stared at you
oh, i knew i was fool

then they surrounded you
twirled around and flew
into the sky
with the bluebirds flying high

as the rest of them got higher,
i fell into the fire
lost in my desire
to be loved

nowadays i know
why i fell so low
maybe someday
i will come back to stay

maybe your love is too much
maybe i dont deserve your touch
but i'll ask myself now
where art thou?

it's not the best, but i will continue to clean it up. so yeah, if anyone wants to share any of their poems, ill happily read them!
