When Larkfire had started to chase this fox towards ThunderClan's border, the last thing she'd expected was for one of her Clanmates to come barrelling out of the undergrowth, past her, and then straight onto the fleeing fox. At first, Larkfire could only stare, open-mouthed, expression incredulous, at the scene playing out in front of her. And then; "Da- Darkfall you idiot!" She spluttered, skidding to a halt and nearly falling over at the sudden imbalance. She couldn't exactly waste time scolding him, though.

Especially when he was grappling with a fox.

Lurching forward, the once supposedly-lithe female submit to Darkfall's order even if she'd be rankled about it later, one paw shooting upward to thrust the snapping fox's jaws away from her as her own fangs closed around it's throat, crushing it's windpipe with one deliberate crunch. In it's last dying breaths, however, the mutt delivered a frantic, swift kick to her belly, and Larkfire rolled away with an unhappy snarl, curling in on herself.

Ah, ah. She was seeing stars. Damn it all, that had hurt way more than it should have. Then again, she supposed it was a side-effect of being pregnant. Her back towards Darkfall and the fox's corpse, all Larkfire could focus on was the agitated lashing of her tail as a red haze of pain shimmered behind her closed eyelids. "I was chasing that fox over the border, Darkfall." She wheezed after a moment, and then that sound turned into an mirthless laugh. "We weren't supposed to kill it." Prying her eyes open, the youngest enforcer shot her companion a furtive glance. "What to tell Mother now." It wasn't a question, not really. Larkfire's eyes had gone distant, gaze staring over Darkfall's shoulder as she remained lost in thought.

Dawnstar snarled softly under her breath as her clanmates quickly got their asses into gear and start chasing the wretched foxes out of the territory. Why the hell did she need to scream at them to get anything done around here?! One by one the foxes were chased off, although, she noticed that a few of her clanmates got a little overzealous and brought her some extra bodies.

The leader rocks back on her haunches before taking a seat, eyes dropping down to her hindleg. The ankle didn't look too bad, she could see some mild swelling, but nothing to worry about. She was guessing she'd have to stay off it for a little bit, no point in pestering Elmshadow about it. Dawnstar tore her gaze off the leg when she heard Whiteheart's voice. She snorted and pinned her ears back against her head. Did she really look so bad that it brought about concern from her clanmates?

"Fine," Dawnstar snarled and lashed her tail. One by one, if they weren't dead they were gone. When the last of the foxes were chased out Dawnstar breathed out a light sigh and then scanned her clanmates, noting that more than a few of them were sporting some hefty injuries. Great, Elmshadow was going to have some work cut out for him.

"Good work all of you. You've done ShadowClan a great service." Though still a bit testy about the time, the job was done and it didn't look like anyone was dead so they had followed her commands wonderfully. "For now, leave the bodies here, I'll bring a patrol out later to collect the foxes. Those of you with working legs and wills of steel help gather the injured and get them straight to Elmshadow. Let's go home." Dawnstar would have to give those with injuries some time to heal, and she did want to celebrate this triumph, so she had something plan she didn't normally do. It'd be interesting to see how the clan reacted to it.

Brokentalon had already gone to help the injured out of initiative. Stars, his head was spinning a tiny bit. He felt like he could pass out at any moment. But he was more focused on the others.

Shadefrost rose to his paws, regaining his stance after the fox darted off, ready to confront another adversary. Yet, the skirmish was short-lived, the opponent breaking away swiftly. His sapphire eyes scanned the battlefield, a gleam of determination flickering within them. The foxes appeared to be dwindling in number, most either defeated or fleeing. "Well, looks like that's that," he mused to himself with a shrug. Just then, Dawnstar's words rang out over the cats of Shadowclan, causing all eyes within the vicinity to look her way. Help the wounded? Sure thing, but first, the tom had to find Silverlightning. He had assigned the young warrior to escort the first fox to the border, a task he was confident Silverlightning could handle. However, as time passed without Silverlightning's return, concern gnawed at Shade. Quickly, Shadefrost walked away from his clanmates and into the territory, following the direction Silverlightning had gone. It helped that there was a scent to track too, though it seemed erratic. Still, Shade followed it to the best of his abilities. Well, that was until he happened upon a certain pair of individuals. Before him, Larkfire was curled into a ball, apparently in pain. A dark cat he didn’t associate with stood behind her, and (much to the black warrior’s irritation) a dead Fox lay between them. Shadefrost took the entire scene in with a blank expression, even though his mind was racing with thoughts. His first was that the other warrior, who's name he didn't know, had attacked Larkfire. However, that assumption was discarded in an instant. It was easy to tell from one look that this guy wasn't that type to attack a clanmate of his, plus he was emitting too little hostility to have done something like that. It had to have been the fox, but why was the Burr Princess acting the way she was. There didn't seem to be any blood. So what was wrong with her? The tom examined the enforcer with sapphire blue orbs, opting not to touch her due to the fact that he didn't like her. His eyes rested on her sides and a brow furrowed inquiringly. It was a little larger than usual, which was… Odd in the tom's opinion. With the way she was curled up when he'd approached, it was evident that the main problem was originating from her belly area. So did that mean she had eaten something rotten instead? Was her stomach swelling due to some type of food poisoning? The tom leaned forward to get a better look. Nope that could be scratched off too. He'd seen a cat's stomach after food poisoning and this wasn't that. It actually looked natural. After a few moments Shadefrost finally, opened his maw to speak, his eyes still on Larkfires belly. "So I'm hallucinating right?" he asked questionably, "because if someone actually likes you, the most annoying cat in our clan, this much, then I think I can speak with certainty when I say that the forest is doomed."

It was finally over... Luckily... His wounded front right paw was starting to sting and he made a face, damnit, the fox had bitten him hard this time... He had been bitten by Dawnstar when he joined, and still had a souvenir on his shoulder... but it have been another thing... he should probably go see Elmshadow immediately when they got back in the camp... He limped back to the camp...

Walking back to the group as he made certain the fox was gone, Mousepaw's ears perked up giddily, hearing the leader's praise. He was... admittedly less happy with the idea of leaving the fox behind. He had wanted to skin it and give the pelt to Dawnstar. He'd been practicing, and he was hoping to get that perfect pelt to gift her like he'd promised he would. What was he if not a cat of his word?

Still, leader's orders were orders, and with one final, backwards glance towards the fallen foxes, he took a step forward, wanting to make sure no one was in need of help or too severely injured, unaware that he was indeed one of the injured cats. Instead, he caught sight of an annoyed looking Auntie speaking to Darkfall, with his mentor lurking nearby. Wait... why was Shadefrost lingering around Auntie Larky? Was that why she was so annoyed? The tom did have that effect on others. He knew from experience.

Not trusting the black furred tom for an instant, the muscular apprentice ignored his bleeding wound and headed towards the group, intent on making sure she was alright when he noticed he had been mistaken. She didn't have a look of annoyance upon her face, but one of... loss? Mousepaw wasn't certain, but there was a certain distance to her look that made him uncomfortable. With her pregnancy as it was, maybe this hadn't been smart? Had she gotten hit? Were her kits alright? A memory of her mother's dead body, surrounded by unmoving kits wavered before him, making him feel lightheaded as he stumbled momentarily before catching himself.

Auntie Larky was fine. She would be fine. Her kits would be fine. Nothing was going to happen. But! But... he would have some words with her about doing dangerous things like fox hunting while she should be resting. Pleading words, mostly. Potentially with some bubbling tears. But they would be words, damn it! He would make sure of that while ensuring her nest was extra extra comfy. Couldn't have her itty bitty kits uncomfortable while he reprimanded her, of course.
