Foxblaze padded carefully through the rocky outcrop, she was good at fishing but hunting, not her style. She padded but stepped on a stick and scared a bird she hadn’t seen.

Sootflare eventually caught the scent of a thrush and followed it quietly. When he finally spotted the bird pecking around in the dirt and gravel, he dropped into a hunting crouch, creeping forward until he was in range to pounce. He quickly delivered a killing blow and tucked it into a hollow to return to later. He wanted to find something a bit more substantial before leaving.

Trotting alongside his mentor, Silentpaw sniffed the air which had some interesting scents. He felt honored that his leader Lionstar believed he was capable of making the long journey to the Lionsrange. It was a pretty place as well with some new animals he hasn’t seen at the Cattail Pond.

Seeing a thrush, Silentpaw went low to stalk it. Once he was close enough, Silentpaw leapt and pounced onto the bird. Killing it with a swift blow, Silentpaw was proud of his catch. Hiding it in a spot where no other creature should steal it, Silentpaw lifted his nose to scent for more prey. This place was truly beautiful and might become one of his favorite hunting places. Glancing at his mentor, he hoped that they weren’t bombarded with too much responsibility to not be able to keep up with him.

Silentpaw beamed his shy smile at his mentor and stumbled upon a nest of mice looking almost ready to leave the nest. Both the mice and Silentpaw looked at each other in surprise. Silentpaw remember that they were supposed to be hunting not having a staring competition with mice. Pouncing on as many as he could, Silentpaw called for his mentor. “Driftblaze! I found a nest of mice, try to get as many as you can!” Silentpaw called as he continued to pounce on mice and trap the ones he didn’t have time to kill by sitting on them. Of course it felt weird sitting on prey but if that is what it takes to have to get them to stop then it is what it is.

Silentpaw gave a flustered look towards his mentor as he managed to kill the 2 mice he sat ontop of. “Well sir, they kept trying to escape from me so it leads to me having to force them to stay.” he replied and checked to see if there were any mice he missed. Looks like they caught all 5 of them.
