Almost a little too loud in the nursery as she had been startled. Assuming that Dovecoo began running, Papayakit stomped down a paw. “Hey! Nooooo fair!” She cried out, clearly displeased as any kit would be when they didn’t win a game. A little bit of her dramatic side was showing through. The she kit picked herself up, a more calmer expression and she bounded away after Dovecoo. Again, she trampled over a few cats, hearing some of the queens hiss at her. Papayakit didn’t bother to apologize as it wasn’t in her mind to have certain manners when it camento such. So, she ignored them because her gaze was on a certain cat. Her tail feathery and white, catching the kit’s gaze. Her mind blanked out once more as she suddenly forgot the game of tag. All she wanted to do was chase after Dovecoo’s tail. Something she found joy in when her father allowed her and Magnoliakit to chase his tail to keep them distracted. Sometimes he’d raise itnso high that it forced the two She kits to jump about. They could never reach it. Honeythistle always got a good laugh out of it. Papayakit’s eyes continued to follow after her object’s movement, and she moved at the speed of a driven rabbit trying to outrun a cat, but she wasn’t fast. Occasionally, she had tripped over her own paws, but got back up quickly to start running again.
Dovecoo only gave a serene smile at the kit's theatrics. She wasn't bothered. It was just a game and she knew that Papayakit would get over it soon. The snowy queen hopped and glided through the nursery with an abundance of grace, whereas her tiny friend bulldozed anything in her way. All Dovecoo could do was laugh it off and vow to talk to her about it later. Or maybe Honeythistle...She didn't want to scold Papayakit and it wasn't like she was her mother anyway. Yes, she'd let Honeythistle do it. Dovecoo looked back for a moment and noticed a glazed look in Papayakit's eyes. She didn't seem to be trying to catch Dovecoo as much as her tail. Dovecoo smiled and slowed down, wiggling her feathery tail around for Papayakit to chase.

Forgetting the game, Papayakit’s eyes grew wide each time that tail flicked from one way to the other. A parent’s tail was like first practice for a rookie of a hunter, despite Papayakit not learning that she would never able to hunt and solely should depend on a strong tom. Papayakit slipped forward quickly and she crouched, her own tail raised in the air, wiggling playfully as she suddenly leapt to catch the tail in her grasp. She missed. Papayakit jumped back, her small body shivering. She leaped again. She missed. If she went one way, the tail wiggles another. It was quite infuriating, but it kept her distracted for a long while. It was just so...feathery! Papayakit swiped a paw at Dovecoo’s tail, feeling the lightbrushing of it, but she still had missed. She jumped in the tail’s wait, but it maneuvered quickly. So, she jumped the other way - just to miss it again. Like a cat trying to trap a mouse, she played with Doveoo’s Feathery tail with annoyance that she couldn’t exactly catch it, yet with delight because it was a fun game.

At the entrance, a familiar silver tom entered into the nursery, followed by his young mate. He gave her a quick nuzzle before he looked around the perimeter. When his eyes caught hold of his young daughter focused on a wiggling tail, Honeythidtle raised an ‘eyebrow’ somewhat confused until a low rumbling chuckle came from deep within his throat. He had sat down to watch the view with amusement because he loved watching his kits play around with vigorous energy. He saw how Dovecoo was tending to the kit. A little patience as Papayakit busied herself. Honeythistle shook his head. He got up and began passing towards them, stopping in front of Dovecoo. He met her gaze for a moment before his eyes slithered downward to Papayakit and back up to Dovecoo. “Ah, am I interrupting something?” He asked, teasingly. Papayakit didn’t bother to greet or reply to him because she was determined to have this soft, feathery touch between her paws one way or another.

The short-haired Abassyian grinned, eyes meeting the tom's as he found a disgusting rat in the pile. She continued to search the pile for a thrush or mouse. Perking an ear at the tom's words, she looked up for a moment, her eyes meeting Ashnose's sparkling amber ones. "A thrush. Starclan must have known I wanted one." She said, slightly joking. She paused a minute, noticing something under a different piece of prey. The she-cat waved her tail, silently motioning to the tom to wait a moment. Willowtail found a small mouse, likely due to the current chilly weather.

She padded over to the tom, dropping the fresh-kill on his paws. "And they knew about your mouse too." She smiled lightly, looking at the tom. She was happy he found her a thrush, even if it meant digging under a smelly rat. She picked up the small bird and padded to a shady spot under a tree, making a circle around the spot before sitting down.

The young molly settled down, laying the bird on her paws. She looked back over to her denmate, wondering if he'd come over to eat his fresh-kill under the shade of the tree or not. The young warrior curled her tail around her and blinked a moment, looking around. A lot more cats were up now and moving around. She yawned at the thought of all those cats waking up.

Dovecoo let out the occasional giggle as she lifted and lowered and wiggled her fluffy white tail. Papayakit seemed so intent on catching it and was growing annoyed that she kept missing, but Dovecoo knew the game wouldn’t be as fun after Papayakit caught her tail so she continued to twitch it just out of the kitten’s reach. The snowy queen truly had a wonderfully soft tail. The fur was long and meticulously groomed until it felt as soft as her her namesake’s downy feathers. Her tail had the longest fur of her whole pelt and she was proud to say that there wasn’t a single tangle. Once again, Papayakit pounced and missed and Dovecoo chuckled. She didn’t notice Honeythistle watching, not that he had even entered the den. Dovecoo wasn’t paying attention the smells around her and had lost some of her skill in noticing smells without trying. Therefore, the first time she noticed Honeythistle was when he was right in front of her. “Hi, Honey! She purred as she always did, jerking her tail into the air once more.

Honeythistle had smiled briefly before clearing his throat and brushing past Dovecoo to knock the studious kit from her goal in capturing Dovecoo’s tail. Papayakit felt herself being pushed to the ground. It wasn’t a harsh push, but she had whined to make it appear to be. “Hey! I was doing something here!” Papayakit complained, quickly shuffling to her paws. Her fur was bristling and her tail bushed up. Her eyes flickered to Dovecoo’s feathery tail and back to Honeythistle moments later. The tom bent down to nose the kit in the direction of her mother. “Go back to your mother, Papayakit.” He dismissed. Papayakit’s dramatic wails grew louder. She stomped her small paws, but Honeythistle has remained unfazed. She always got moody when she didn’t get what she wanted. “You had enough play time.” He licked between her ears, but Papayakit had pulled away, looking up at the silver tom with an unsatisfied, grim look. Honeythistle shook his head, groaning. “You know Magnoliakit will be waking up soon, so you might as well play with her for a bit. I bet she misses you.” Honeythistle purred, longingly. “And, she’d probably be jealous if Dovecoo was taking all your attention.” He added, with a knowing frown. Papayakit had lowered her ears, and looked down at her tiny paws. Papayakit didn’t fight backing away when Honeythistle nosed her in that specific direction. She muttered a goodbye to Dovecoo sadly and padded off.
Honeythistle twisted himself around Dovecoo. His body on her right side, while his tail snaked around to be at her left side. “So,” He purred, lightly touching her cheek. “How was your morning? Was Papayakit behaving herself?” He knew his daughter could be a bit of a whirlwind. She didn’t care much about others’ feelings. She was a bit...dramatic when she didn’t get her way. Honeythistle had been gone all that morning, and it was around midday. It was nice to relax after a little romp around with his other mate.

Honeythistle had been gone all that morning, and it was around midday. It was nice to relax after a little romp around with his other mate.
Dovecoo returned Honeythistle’s smile, the sparkle of love shining in her eyes until she almost resembled Papayakit looking at her tail. The pretty molly watched as Honeythistle nudged over his kit, provoking Papayakit to release a dramatic wail. Dovecoo doubted Honeythistle had actually hurt his kit, so she figured Papayakit was just unhappy about being separated from her game. Dovecoo would have gladly let Papayakit continue to chase her tail, but Honeythistle seemed to want Papayakit to go back to her mother so that he and Dovecoo could spend time together, which Dovecoo has been longing for anyway. When Papayakit talked back, Dovecoo blinked and looked at Honeythistle for his reaction. She was rather surprised that Papayakit had dared to be disrespectful to him. Of course, Dovecoo has said and done much worse but both her and Honeythistle knew that that was only when she was in a mood, when Honeythistle got her angry. Nonetheless, Honeythistle was gentle in his firmness and eventually got Papayakit to return to her mother and sister. Dovecoo reciprocated her sad goodbye with a gentle, ”Goodbye, dear.” Suddenly, Honeythistle was pressed on her right side and his tail was snaking around her left, entrapping her. Dovecoo purred and leaned against him, tilting her head up to rub against his cheek. Dovecoo nodded and answered in her usual soft tone, “My morning was good. Papayakit was practically an angel, though a bit rude to others. We played tag, you see, after mossball and Papayakit was running around the nursery and I’m afraid she nearly trampled a few unsuspecting cats and didn’t apologize. Don’t be too hard on her, though, if you choose to address it. We were playing, after all.” Dovecoo didn’t want to get Papayakit in trouble, but Honeythistle had asked about her behavior and Dovecoo couldn’t keep any information from him. After purring for a bit and relishing the feeling of Honeythistle’s fur against hers and the smell of wild honey that he always carried, Dovecoo asked, ”How was your morning?” Dovecoo has no idea what Honeythistle had been up to, but only expected a vague answer, such as ‘good.’ She didn’t really need to know what he had been doing. Probably regular old warrior business, anyway.

Probably regular old warrior business, anyway.
As Honeythistle wrapped himself around Dovecoo, his eyes slipping to see if Papayakit had obeyed. Sure enough, the she kit was weaving around her mother in an excited manner. Honeythistle blew out a sigh, and he turned back to Dovecoo, rubbing his cheek against hers, purring deeply. He began to unconsciously pad forward, keeping the queen in step with him. He listened to her talk about her day and Papayakit’s behavior. Honeythistle had chuckled when Dovecoo mentioned how rude Papayakit could be. “She’s rather a pawful, you know.” Papayakit may had her moments, such as behavioral problems; constantly seeking attention, but Honeythistle knew how to keep her in her place. “Usually, she’s very sweet. She’s my little fruit.” He cooed with a small laugh. Under his watchful gaze, Papayakit played fairly. Papayakit didn’t like being scolded by her mother, let alone her father. “She was only a little upset because I took you from her. She’ll be fiiiine.” He drew out, brushing his tail along her flank as he led the queen back to her nest. “I’ll talk to her later. I did promise to play with Papayakit and Magnoliakit.” He rolled his shoulders, continuing to walk until they approached her nest. When she asked about his day, Honeythistle simply shrugged. “It was okay.” He replied, obviously knowing Dovecoo expected an indifferent answer from him. He took Rosenose out to hunt for a bit, they talked, they laughed and cuddled, and enjoyed a little bit of the shade. Once Rosenose began missing her kits, after they shared freshkill, he led her back to the nursery, where he was greeted with Dovecoo and Papayakit playing. “Papayakit looked very admiringly at you,” he suddenly says, licking his jaws. “I know you’ll be an excellent mother someday.” He praised. Just from his observation with how Dovecoo playsd with Papayakit and how back when they were in Riverclan, she spoke of kits being the most intelligent in the clans. Honeythistle thought she was joking, but she was serious. Currently, all he wanted to do was relax. Dovecoo was his newest mate, and he wanted to spend much time in her presence. The tom unwrapped himself from Dovecoo and hopped into her comfortable nest. He plopped down, rolling onto his back, leisurely. He looked up at Dovecoo, a gleam of mischief in his orbs.

Dovecoo walked along with Honeythistle, corralled by his tail. She listened with amusement as Honeythistle described Papayakit. The she-kit she was certainly an interesting character. Dovecoo had enjoyed the time she spent playing with Papayakit. She cared for the kit now, and would look forward to watching her again. Dovecoo smiled at Honeythistle’s words, glad that Papayakit had enjoyed their playtime so much. She wasn’t too worried about the kitten. Her sister would wake up and occupy her soon. “I want to watch that!” Dovecoo purred about Honeythistle playing with Papayakit and Magnoliakit. He was so gentle with the kits, it was adorable. Dovecoo figures she’d just sit back and watch as Honeythistle waved his tail for them. The two cats reached Dovecoo’s nest before she even realized where they were going. Honeythistle’s response to her question was as expected. Dovecoo wondered if she should ask for more details, simply because she wanted to hear him talk about it. However, Honeythistle started talking about Papayakit and quickly took Dovecoo’s mind off of his day. His words made her smile at first, but the look became more thoughtful with he second sentence. As Honeythistle untwined himself from her and jumped into her nest, Dovecoo remained standing. She looked off into the distance, not really seeing, as she thought about the implications. One day, she’d have kits. She had to. It was her only job. When Dovecoo had first learned that, she had been leery. She wasn’t even sure she wanted kits let alone whether she was ready for them. But, playing with Papayakit and hearing her call her ‘mommy’ and sitting in an empty nest all alone in the nursery with nothing to do made Dovecoo feel things she’d never felt nor expected to feel. The snowy queen gracefully picked her way into the nest and settled down next to Honeythistle, grooming his fur to start sharing tongues with him. The molly paused and asked in a distant voice without looking at him, “When?” She flicked her eyes over to his and asked more specifically, “How far away is ‘someday?’”

Something must had been up with Dovecoo because when Honeythistle looked up at her from laying down, she was staring into the distance. Honeythistle gave her a weary glance, rolling onto his stomach as he was ready to address Dovecoo. She returned to reality quickly, stepping into the nest to lay beside him. Honeythistle let out a faint purr. He kneaded his paws in the nest, trying to stretch them the farthest they would go. Dovecoo started to groom his fur, so it was natural that he would return the favor. His tongue made diligent work, grooming the scruff of her neck and back. When she paused in her grooming, Honeythistle continued to give lazy, soothing licks until her voice floated in his ears. It made him pull away to look at her because he did not understand what she meant. “When, what?” He repeated, his expression contorting into something questionable. The words that followed after, Honeythistle mind clouded into an understanding as he glanced over to two of his daughters who were a bit distanced from them, but their figure was made out easily by the silver tom. Honeythistle’s met her gaze, breathing calmly. “Well, uh, it’s someday for sure. I can’t give you a specific frame, Dove.” Honeythistle didn’t know the fact that after watching Papayakit, it became more of a milestone in Dovecoo’s life. It was no doubt that Honeythistle dearly adored kits. Specifically, his own. The tom really didn’t care for kits that weren’t his, which was why he didn’t have any adopted kits or associated himself with another queen’s kits, a queen that was not his own. What made her ask such a question anyway? Honeythistle didn’t think a sweet, gulliable feline like Dovecoo would ever think of having her own. Honeythistle just saw it as a moment that would appear at her life, but he supposed that every she cat in life had thought about the idea of having kits one day. Maybe, he was just overthinking it, and Dovecoo took his praise literal. For all he knew, she probably was dreading the idea, believing that ‘someday’ was tomorrow, or the next day, or the next...”What’s going on in that pretty head of yours, Dove?” Honeythistle whispered next to her before returning back to her grooming. He started at her shoulders this time.

He started at her shoulders this time.
Dovecoo and Honeythistle started sharing tongues, Dovecoo beginning at his shoulder and moving systematically down his shoulder and back. The molly felt him cease his own grooming after she spoke and was already planning on elaborating before she heard his question. Her diamond eyes were focused on him as he turned his grass green ones onto her and replied that he didn't know when. Dovecoo didn't know what Honeythistle was thinking. She didn't know if he wanted kits now or later. He did have two different litter of current kits at the moment, but none of them were hers. Sure, she could watch over them occasionally when the other queens were busy, but she wanted something to do all the time. Honeythistle's question reached her ears and Dovecoo realized that she had zoned out again. She refocused her eyes on his and mewed, "I was just wondering...how soon...Did you want kits. I know that you have Papayakit and Magnoliakit to worry about right now and the other litter. But, I djust want to watch the other kits when their real mothers are busy. Papayakit called me her mother today, but I'm not really her mother." Dovecoo blinked at Honeythistle, wondering if he understood. He had never had that problem. There may have been five she-cats having kits and caring for each other's litters, but they were all his.
