meeting a "friend" in an unexpected place

frogpaw walked around looking around though there was not much to look at then he sented a cat shrewpaw he thought and jumped into a bush and watched him whats he doing here

Shrewpaw was here on his own this night, without the companionship of Blackhaze. Not that he needed it. He could fight just fine, so he wasn't exactly worried when he heard a rustling noise. Some cat sulking about no doubt. Scents took him longer to register in the wet forest, but he was able to discern Frogpaw. Grumpybutt. Why was he here? Was it his first time? He was smart to be scared, but he didn't need to be THAT terrified. Approaching the bush, Shrewpaw mewed cautiously Frogpaw? Are you alright? @feather lily

frogpaw got up im fine, why wouldnt i be? he hissed what are you doing here? he asked, he was taking a break from training and went exploring his mentors where doing stuf anyways

Glad that Frogpaw was alright, he wasn't being chased by one of the rotters in here, Shrewpaw was a bit surprised by his hostility. Or maybe he wasn't, he had come to expect some amount of anger in every interaction with this cat. This is the dark forest. Few of the cats here are really safe to be around. Blackhaze was safe, but the rest of the dead cats were not cats he wanted to be anywhere near. What was he doing here? I was visiting a........friend. he mewed rather cryptically, before adding He's not here, he's a bit farther away. And I could ask you the same. he added, not wanting to back down and let the younger cat get one over on him. @feather lily

visiting a friend? training but my mentor's are busy, whos this friend of yours he asked unless there family you dont just come to the dark forest for fun

He was surprised Frogpaw would do that much to not be called weak occasionally, even though he was fairly certain most cats had cut that out, but Shrewpaw couldn't exactly say anything since he was here himself. Settling for a nonchalant shrug, his fur spiked at the prying question. Why is it any of your business? he hissed, paws kneading the dirt. He's someone I was close to and care about, and I don't go telling every random cat, alright? If the hairball wanted to persist, it was unlikely to go well.

fine, have you seen goslingpaw? i would rather be training than waisting my time with you he hissed. he didnt like shrewpaw and wanted to know why he was here but he was smart enough not to keep asking your just here wishing you had friends nobody would want to hang out with a fur ball like you! lucky for frogpaw his long legs made him tall

You're training with Goslingpaw? Shrewpaw snorted. If you were coming here, do it right he supposed. That was one deranged cat. He had met her while she was alive, and he knew what she had done. Lionstar had mentioned it at a gathering. Savaged some Windclan weakling. Not that HE cared about the shrimp, whoever it was. Dipping his head rather saucily with a purr of Likewise. Shrewpaw slipped off into the shadows. He was going to leave the friend comment alone for now. Until he found out how many Frogpaw had. @feather lily

His tail swishing, Shrewpaw turned back around. You miss me? he mewed rather sarcastically, tilting his head to the side slightly. It was mostly a joke, and he imagined that the younger cat did enjoy needling him, so it wasn't completely out of place. At the question about Goslingpaw, he mewed She's a complete nutter! I heard about what she did at a gathering. She only died recently you know. She savaged a Windclan apprentice. It was a practice fight, no claws, and she bit at the cats throat! Lionstar executed her right after. She was nuts, he had no wish to go anywhere near her. @feather lily
