A Goose's Fear

After the raid on ShadowClan, Goosefury’s pride was shattered, his hatred fed, and his heart struck with fear. For the first time in his life, he was truly afraid of dying.

Now his slumber is plagued with nightmares. He won’t sleep, can hardly eat, and although he wants to prove his worth to RiverClan, he can still hardly walk, let alone hunt or fight.

He’s paranoid. Petrified. Every noise and every shadow makes him think that his ShadowClan opponents are back to finish the job. He jerks awake at the tiniest of sounds. He’s exhausted, and he can’t focus on his duties.

Here’s the plot - Goosefury jolts awake in the warriors’ den screaming about a nightmare. He wakes up [she-cat], who moves to talk to him and comfort him until he goes back to sleep. [she-cat] stays with him to keep him warm for a few minutes before returning to her nest.

it happens again. This time [she-cat] is ready and she is by his side immediately. Once again they talk,and once again she keeps him company until he falls asleep.

The third time, [she-cat] notices him shaking violently and decides to try to calm him down before he’s even awake. It works, but he eventually wakes up anyway to see her curled next to him in his nest. When he falls asleep once more, the nightmare is non-existent.

It happens a fourth time, although his dream is not as dark and he only wakes up gasping instead of screaming. [she-cat] decides to invite him on a midnight walk, and although he at first refuses, he eventually gives in. They go to Cattail Pond to hang out and just talk, until eventually they fall asleep next to one another by the water.

It's a small plot, but I'd really like to do something more with Goosey's current condition.

I'm looking for a cat around Goosey's age, and someone who would be willing to continue their friendship beyond this plot, and possibly develop it into something more romantic.

if slushie intended on goose always going with shimmering, that'd be something to make super clear in the post lol.. would be kinda mean to lure people in with a false promise of being more

@Shimm @Wings, I figured since there's a pretty big romance complication with shimmeringpool and the others, it'd be nice to give him another option just in case!
