Rusty could see the dog chasing Jellie, and swerved in front of it, hoping to divert its attention. “Over here ya old fleabag!” She yowled at the dog, and it started chasing her! Good. Now at least Jellie would be safe.

Jellie:

Jellie heard Rusty’s yowl, and kept running ahead. Since Rusty was leading the dog away from Midnight’s den, Jellie could go and warn the others.

“I don’t know,” Jellie mewed pitifully, “she diverted the dog’s attention, and told me to run.” She wished she had stayed and helped Rusty, but she probably would’ve gotten herself killed.
