Eagleflower nodded to the river nearby. They'd done hunting in land recently, and now it was time to hunt...on water? That made no sense. But, on the other paw, the clock was ticking, so they'd better get the show on the road.
"I was thinking fishing. Come on, follow me!" He mewed, approaching the rushing stream of currents. He could see dark shapes under the water, swimming like there was no tomorrow. Eagleflower kept his shadow out of the water, eying a large trout that was having a hard time keeping up with the others. As it moves closer, he moved swiftly , and scooped the thing out of the water. It spun in midair, and proceeded to land on his face. As it slipped off, he cleared his throat.
"On the upside, that was the first fish I've ever caught successfully! Why don't you try?"

Honeypaw stifled a smile. Their mentor was so clumsy. "Okay," they mewed coming to stand beside Eaglefower. Crouching, they stared into the water, waiting for another fish to come close to them.

Eagleflower watched attentively from behind, ready to step in if anything happened. ALtjough, if he fell in, he wasn't sure he could save him from the current. He was not a strong swimer.

"is there a certain way how to fish..?" They looked at Eagleflower with curiosity. They wanted to get it right the first time.

Flyfur popped her head into the training area, glancing about for Thistlestep. Having not seen him in camp, she ran here to catch him before he left. "Thistlestep??" She called, slowly padding her way farther in.

Eagleflower considered his question, thinking about the technique.
"You should always check that you can't see your shadow of reflection on the water. Then the fish can't see you. Then, you need to target one. Find the one closest to you, or one moving towards you, and follow it with your eyes. Then, when it gets close enough, you have to curl your paw into a cup-shape, and then flick the fish out of the water with your wrist."

Darkpaw stared back at them for a heartbeat, "Um, okay," she mewed. Then, without warning, she sprang forward towards her mentor, launching herself at their upper body to throw them off balance and knock them over.

Silvershade let out a grunt from the impact as their body was slammed into the ground. It took a moment to recover but, after a few secs-- Silvershade gently kicked at Darkpaw's soft stomach but not enough to generally push her off. "The stomach is one of the best openings, "Silvershade meowed.

"Howeeverrrr! It's not the only one, if your opponent isn't too larger or is smaller than you-- kick out dem leggies!" They wiggled a little bit to weaken Darkpaw's grip before raised their hindlegs to kick out her hindlegs.

(I have no idea if japanese bobtails can balance as well as any cat, but they can jump amazing heights.)

"It's all about your legs, you have to kick your back legs to move, and use your front to maneuver yourself." he said and let himself drift into higher waters to show how his front paws moved to change his direction.

"It's through working all your legs that you stay afloat."

Harepaw tried copying his mentor, ungracefully paddling, but managing to stay afloat. "This is kind of hard," he stated.

"Okey," Honeypaw replied, eyes fixed on the water. They spotted one almost instantly, and tried to do what Eagleflower ordered. Keeping their shaodw off the water, they put their paw in a cup-shape.
