After showing her apprentice Smallpines, Mossflower had walked with her apprentice to the border shared with ShadowClan. Right as the two reached the border she could hear rustling in a nearby patch of ferns. She didn't say anything to Flamepaw. Instead she just dropped into a crouch and quickly crept towards the thicket of ferns. Once she was essentially on top of it, she stared at it for movement. Once she saw the fern gently sway, the tortoiseshell leapt into it with her claws outstretched. Her paw made contact with something and she dropped her head to deliver a quick nip.
She picked up the dead mouse before padding back to Flamepaw. She dropped the dead prey at her own paws. "Anyways," Mossflower said after she was done with that swift hunt. "This is the border we share with ShadowClan. ShadowClan's scent isn't as very distinguishable as RiverClan's, but you can still tell it's not ThunderClan." The molly briefly explained. "Now after you take time to get a good look at this border, we can go to the border shared with WindClan." She said. She looked at Flamepaw. "How tired are you?" She inquired. Maybe she could change her plans and just go back to camp, even if Flamepaw wasn't exhausted.
