Andddd, now this cat was starring. Fun! Magpiepaw didn't mind being admired, infact she loved allll the attention she was given, so she stared right back. Haha! Take that! They were now blessed with the gaze of Magpiepaw the Great! And since the newly appointed apprentice had yet to speak, Magpiepaw had no idea what her personality was like. Plus, she was insanely bad at picking up on social ques or facial expressions, so the poor little menace was truly wracking her brain here as she attempted to shape herself into a cat this stranger might like.

Of course, the clump of fur akin to a sheeps wool kept on spinning and swirling in place. Jeez, jumpy much? Pick a darn pose, it was kinda hard to make eye contact when one is SPINNING LIKE AN ANT THAT GOT ITS HIDE SMASHED OFF.

And, it seemed that they themselves were having trouble keeping eye contact. Magpiepaw watched with mild amusement as minty eyes darted from the left to the right side of her face. Haha, what she wouldn't give to read their mind at that very moment. Her pink tongue flicked out of her mouth, blepping for a moment before she drew her tongue along her nose. "Eh, you're pretty weird aren't you. I like your eyes," she tilted her head. They were pretty, she couldn't deny that, but everycat tended to have pretty eyes or features, a gift from Starclan themselves. But, nocats eyes compared to that of Spiderthorn's, her--- AHEM, her verygoodfriend.

His eyes.... Stars above, they looked like a richly painted sky with streaks of deep lavender and royal blue. Magpiepaw had yet to realize she was drifting, so she jolted herself upwards, more than slightly embarrassed. But she knew how to fix that! MORE YELLING!!

"Yeah, your eyes are GREAT and all but, you OBVIOUSLY have some staying-still problems, don't you?" She smiled wickedly, long canines glinting. "At least it makes you harder to tackle--- THINK FAST!" Without another word, Magpiepaw sprang forward, aiming for the smaller cats shoulders. She wasn't going to hurt her, Magpiepaw was mentally challenged but no monster. She was just certain that a good spar would ASSERT HER DOMINANCE!

Icepaw kept watching the other apprentice as the silence stretched on, feeling more and more awkward by the second. Stars, why couldn't she just be left alone??? She shuffled her paws again, twitching her tail as she did so. Though, the fluffy she-cat couldn't help but let out a small huff of amusement at the compliment. She was easily flustered, and she knew it. And she was NOT going to show it.
She... Sort of failed.

When the loud split furred apprentice spaced out for a moment, Icepaw had planned to get up and walk away. But as quickly as she drifted, she snapped right back into reality. Oh great. And she kept yelling! Crazy. So what if she couldn't stand still? A lot of cats these days, especially now that it's getting col-

Icepaw let out a rather embarassing shriek as the larger apprentice launched herself at her, paws aimed for her shoulders. She instantly scrambled to (Or at least, attempted to) her paws to get away, which ultimately failed. She was pinned underneath the annoyingly loud cat, and despite wanting to bite or fight back, she was simply in no mood to do so. So she flopped against the ground instead, forcing her body to go limp. Maybe the half-faced goofball would take the hint and get off.

Nightbane's eyes flicked over to Swantooth's whenever he heard the she-cat call out to him. ''Not staring,'' He answered, his voice quiet and the reply simple. The black-and-white tabby tom wrapped his tail around his paws. ''Simply looking around.''

"I know you're not staring." She...thinks, anyway. What is the difference between a look and a stare? Nightbane's looking had variation—that must be it. At any rate, even if he had been staring at something, what he's doing doesn't matter nearly as much to her as what he's doing it at. "You're looking, though. I wanted to know what you were looking at." Only because he'd squinted, really. Narrowed eyes are a funny thing. Sometimes they're because a cat is upset. Sometimes it's because their eyes are bad. But Nightbane doesn't look like he's squinting now, so probably his eyes are fine. Not that it is even remotely her business.

"If you could look at one last thing before you had no eyes ever again, what would you look at?" Since his answer to her first question wasn't interesting enough for her to feel as though she'd gotten her effort's worth, Swantooth decides she'll resort to questions like this until she's satisfied.

A certain ginger apprentice lies on his back kicking his front paws at the air in circles, bored. He’s slacking off. Maybe. Or he’s exercising his legs- You shouldn’t assume so quickly, you know.

There’re some things he has to do, somewhere. They’ve just slipped his mind? Witherpaw huffs. Ah, what is he kidding; his creator’s forgetfulness rubbed off on him, that’s what happened.

He didn't initially plan on talking to anyone today. Just stroll around camp, and head straight for the Nursery again, to sleep. He liked sleeping. Call him lazy, he didn't care. But his paws definitely had something else in mind, given the fact that it absolutely betrayed him.

Canopykit tripped over his own paws on his way to the Nursery (Which, to be honest, was his own fault since he was walking WAY too fast for his paws' liking), almost shoving his muzzle into another cat's fur. He instantly staggered to his paws and backed off, face showing no genuine shock but his ears were pinned to the side of his head.

"Sorry! Sorry mate!" He squeaked, instantly cursing himself. He had not meant for his voice to come out that way. Blame him and his stupid social awkwardness.

SpiderThorn blinked at the sudden burst of words, surprised by how quickly Blackberrybat spoke. That was…alright. It may ease things a bit, yeah? As long as SpiderThorn could keep up that was. He couldn’t help but chuckle softly, his awkwardness fading slightly as he watched the tom's…energy? Yeah…energy. "Oh, uh, no need to apologize. I was just looking for someone to talk to." He gave a sheepish smile, shifting on his paws a bit. Many questions to answer, huh?. "I’m good, just trying to... meet new cats. Not exactly my expertise, but, uh... well, here we are." the warrior mused lightly, flicking his tail behind him.

He paused for a moment, considering Blackberrybat’s offer. Well…what was there consider? It was what he sought after all. "I’d appreciate some company, actually!” SpiderThorn added with a flick of his tail, relaxing a little more. He tried to sound more chipper, maybe match the cats mood and energy. "I haven’t really had a chance to chat with many warriors yet. Just been... caught up with other things." His voice trailed off for a second, before he quickly added, "It’s nice to meet you though, Blackberrybat." Was this really all he could think of saying? He couldn’t rely on the cat that he approached to carry the whole conversation. So…what to do now? How was ma always a good conversationist. Couldn’t he take after her on that? A shame really. “You uhm- anything interesting pop up recently?” he wanted to facepalm himself horribly bad. Goodness…

DARKPAW

Purrks: Silvertongue T1

___________________________________________

DarkPaw sat alone under the cover of trees, his gaze drifting aimlessly over the dark forest. The moon barely peeked through the branches, its pale light not enough to fully cut through the shadows. He’d wandered far from camp again, his paws moving without thinking. It was the quiet that pulled him away, the silence that felt like a relief from everything that crowded his mind. The forest was still, except for the occasional rustle of leaves or the distant call of an owl. Even the air felt different tonight—heavy, like something was about to change. DarkPaw couldn’t shake the feeling that it was only a matter of time before something broke, before he would have to face whatever it was he was running from. But what was he running from? His own thoughts? The constant weight on his chest, the feeling that everyone expected so much more from him? Or maybe it was just the fear of what would happen if they saw him for what he truly was.

A mess.

A failure.

DarkPaw’s tail twitched nervously. He always tried so hard to be normal, to fit in with everyone else. He never let them see how much he doubted himself. Never let them see how broken he felt inside. The others seemed so confident—so sure of themselves. But he couldn’t ever seem to shake the nagging feeling that he was different. That something about him wasn’t right. The guilt ate at him, gnawing at his insides. He still remembered his mother’s face, her cruel words echoing in his mind. She had always been so sure of her power over him, so certain that he was weak and incapable. He had lived so long under her control, her judgment, and now, even after her death, it was like she was still there. Watching him. Disapproving. He couldn’t escape that weight, not even in the quiet of the forest.

His paws flexed in the dirt, as if trying to ground himself in something solid. But there was nothing. Not really. Everything felt fragile. He had so many unanswered questions, things that had never been said. Was it too late to change? Was there any way he could stop the spiral of self-doubt that consumed him?

His thoughts twisted back to his role in the clan, the expectations placed on him by others. It didn’t help that he had always been told that he was supposed to be strong, to be capable. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized he had never been given the space to be weak, to make mistakes. And now, every time he failed, it felt like it was all he would ever be—failure after failure, a constant reminder that he wasn’t good enough. He closed his eyes, his chest tightening. The air around him felt too thick, the silence too loud. The night was supposed to be calming, but it only made him more aware of how alone he felt. The longer he stayed out here, the more he felt like he was falling into something deep and dark—like he could never climb back out. He wanted to cry. But he wouldn’t. He didn’t deserve to. Cats like him didn’t get to show weakness. The clan would see him for what he really was—a broken, worthless apprentice. He was too far gone. His thoughts circled over and over, the same spiral, the same self-hate, and every time he tried to pull himself out of it, it only tightened its grip on him.

With a sigh, DarkPaw opened his eyes again, staring up at the night sky. The stars seemed so far away, so indifferent. They were the same stars that had watched over him since he was a kit. And yet, they felt so much farther now, like he wasn’t worthy of their light. Even the moon seemed out of reach. He had never felt so small. His shoulders hunched in on themselves, a tight knot in his chest. He had never felt more like a disappointment. It wasn’t just his mother’s ghost that haunted him; it was the weight of his own expectations, the pressure to be something he wasn’t, to meet standards he could never achieve. It was suffocating. What if it was easier to just stop trying? To let go and let everything fall apart? The thought flashed through his mind, unexpected but insistent. Maybe it would be better. Maybe everything would stop hurting if he just… stopped. But he wasn’t sure if he had the courage for that. Would it be better, though? Would anyone even care?

But no, that wasn’t right. DarkPaw didn’t want to believe that. He couldn’t. His paws shuffled uncomfortably, and he pushed the thought away, knowing it was just a momentary lapse, a weakness that would pass. Still, the thought lingered at the edge of his mind, like an ugly shadow he couldn’t fully escape. Opening his eyes, DarkPaw glanced down at the ground, his thoughts spiraling yet again. What was he doing? Why did he feel like this? Was it just him? Or was it something in the way he was built, something he couldn’t escape no matter how hard he tried? The noise of his own thoughts was deafening. It was the quietest moments that were the hardest. When he was alone with his mind, with all the doubts that crowded his head. He was so tired of it. Tired of pretending to be okay when he wasn’t. Tired of fighting an invisible battle that no one could see.

With a shaky breath, DarkPaw pushed himself to his paws. The camp was still waiting, its warmth and light calling to him, even if he didn’t want to go back. But he had no choice. He would have to slip back into his role, back into the cat everyone expected him to be. He didn’t know how long he could keep this up, but there was no other option. The clan depended on him. He couldn’t afford to break.

Not yet.

what... what was this? the brown tabby apprentice was freezing when she walked out of the warriors den to see the floor of camp covered in white. as the half-blind tom stepped out, it made a crruuunch noise. huh? if cloverpaw remembered correctly, they had heard about something called snow - it fell from the sky when it was cold enough, and was small tiny flecks of white. "...snow," he whispered, cracking a small smile as they walked out into the clearing, lashing their long tail. it was beautiful. obviously cloverpaw was still mourning, but with this beauty happening right now, she could be happy, even if it was for a bit. after walking around camp aimlessly, just enjoying the snow, cloverpaw decided she was too cold to stay in the clearing longer. she turned around and trotted back to the apprentice den, giving the clearing once final glance before retreating to her nest.

SnowCloud was laying in the clearing. Snow dropped his hpfur as he looked into the sky. Snowflakes came rushing down and landing on everyone. He loved the snow. Even if it's cold, it's beautiful. He loved to look st them, and they had unique patterns. Some... weird. Some pretty. He shook his fur to make the snow come off. His fur started to get a bit damp. [OPEN]

Violetpaw smiled brightly as Silentpaw finally showed some interest in her. "Great! We need a warrior to go with us, but I don't know who'd be willing to mostly leave us alone," She narrowed her eyes in concentration, and slight annoyance. "I hate when Warriors get all up in my business." She shook her head. "Well do you know anyone?"
