Skies above, could there not be one day without something happening? No he doesn't usually enter the nursery, but when he heard a few kits speak of a 'Darkkit cold' and 'Darkkit not moving', he almost instantly knew what was happening. Such a bother. And how, had the child been sick? Why did it have to be kits, of all cats, that found him? Scowling, Gingerfrost dipped inside the nursery, almost instantly finding two young kits flanking the cold body. His gaze hardened, seemingly untouched by the upsetting sight of a passed-away kit. Moving to stand by the body, Gingerfrost sniffed to see if there were any odd smells, though he couldn't smell anything out of the ordinary. Then again, he wasn't a medicine cat. That being said, he didn't have to be a medicine cat to know the child wouldn't be waking up anymore.
"..She's gone."
Gingerfrost stated perhaps a little too bluntly, grimacing slightly. His eyes moved down to the kits at Darkkit's side.
"Does she have any family here?"
...Should he be asking a pair of kits this? The tabby realised with a start that it was maybe not the best thing to ask a pair of kittens. Well then. He inwardly grimaced at his own stupidity, holding back the urge to slap a paw to his forehead. Hells, she should probably know the answer himself, but he hardly kept track of which kit belonged to whom. Skies he was bad at this too; he hardly knew what to do in face of a death. Let's just get her to the clearing, he decided, so everyone could say goodbye and whatnot.
"Clearing."
Is all he mumbled to the kits before carefully moving to pick Darkkit up.
