”Nice job!” the warrior praised, a glint of approval evident in his gaze as he gave a single nod. “Alright, how ‘bout we go out to the territory to get some more hunting practice, yeah?” he offered calmly, wondering if he should bring MuddyPaw along as well. Maybe then they could get some sparring?

SpiderThorn had always been more of a casual sort, never one to push a cat too far, but MagpiePaw…it felt like she was something else. And yet, despite all that prickliness, she still had the nerve to huff at him for accepting the leaves. “Yeah, well, too late. You showed ‘em to me, so now they’re mine.” he said simply, swiping a paw over his ear to brush a stray leaf aside. He wasn’t about to argue about it. Hell, he scooped for up into his pelt.

But her words lingered. A slug of a mentor, huh? That explained a lot, MagpiePaw was way too awesome to intentionally fall behind.

“Sounds like they wasted your time.” he said after a beat, his tone oddly neutral. No teasing, no smirking. Just a simple truth. He glanced at her, watching for any more puffin-like reactions, before exhaling through his nose. “Well…it’ll be soon enough…whatcha want for your warrior name?”
