the cooling air swishing through his fur, rookfire sat, icy eyes fixed on a unspecified location between camp entrance and the tightly woven bramble protecting them from predators and sight when a familiar voice sounded next to him.
"'course" the medic nodded, grey eyes moving away from where he'd been staring holes into the camp walls to eye bleedingpaw. silence lingered between them, unbroken until the golden apprentice continued. his feelings on lostspark had always been positive even after she threatened him with death upon his joining, she'd treated him with a cold fairness he only recently grew to appreciate. perhaps age cleared up certain things. maybe he just got smarter.
his angular head cocked slightly in question, he watched bleedingpaw inhale deeply. something of her that couldnt be taken from him? rook couldnt help but feel a bit uneasy at the possibility of being asked for information he simply did not have. sure he'd been her apprentice, but there wasnt much interpersonal talk between the two. surely less than between her and bleedingpaw anyway.
but as it turned out, knowledge unique to lostsparks and his shared rank was bleedingpaws wish. a wish rookfire would happily fulfil.
"sure." he answered simply before taking a moment to think it over. the scent aspect stood out, most of the more useful herbs rarely carried a heavy scent that'd cling to pelts but what do they say? the dose makes the poison?

"okay, listen well then-" he winked at bleedingpaw "-we'll do some basic first aid for now. herbs you'll find easily that are commonly used. ah. lets start with poppy, chervil and borage. poppys are bright red flowers, 'm sure you've seen em on patrol before, with a black center. we need the seeds. theyre used ta' ease pain n put injured cats to sleep. overall, three for large cats, 2 for the average warrior n never more than one for kits or apprentices." he listed off briskly, "any questions yet?"
