With as big of a leap as he could muster to get out of the nursery, a flash of grey fur bound into the Shadowclan clearing. Ashkit was simply bored in the nursery and needed something to do! He had questions to ask and cats to talk to!

He was greated by warm air like he couldn't remember before, and an overcast sky that he was so accustomed to bringing more cold. Not today! Sure, it wasn't as warm as the nursery, but it was so much nicer outside! Is this what that 'newleaf' thing that dad mentioned once was? It surely had to be!

Foghaze- no Fogpaw came over, after seeing his son explode from the nursery. he's finally not playing with Tinywolf! Fogpaw thought. What's he going to think when he finds out I've been demoted? He wondered. Better tell him though, or else he'll find out from some other cat. Hey, buddy, I have some bad news for you. He mumbled. @namen_roodles

"Excuse me." Grottopaw stepped up next to the first warrior he could find. He didn't care who they were - he just needed someone reliable so that he could head out, scrounge up supplies, and head back to get started. "Gathering nest materials. Come with me."

Ashkit skidded to a stop when he saw his dad. "Dad, DAD!" he redirected to bound towards Foghaze to meet him in the middle. The kit quickly stopped in front of his dad and looked up at him, green eyes wide with a question.

Bad news? Ashkit couldn't imagine what could have happened! Well, he could imagine a lot of things, but the way his dad talked didn't make it sound like an emergency, per se. He tilted his head. "What's wrong?" He asked.

@Splashcloud (Still says foghaze because Ashkit doesn't know yet.)

SpiderThorn sent a questioning look the apprentices way as he was approached, but then nodded after hearing what he had to say. “Alright, where too?” he huffed standing and smoothing his magpie-feather-covered pelt out a bit before turning back to GrottoPaw.

Fogpaw shook his head at Grottopaw. Get outta hear! Go do it yourself. He was still angry about his demotion. You were given the task, you do it your self! Turning to Ashkit, he replied, I- uh- was demoted. He muttered. @namen_roodles

Ah- great- that was specific! He could definitely choose off of that one. Was he really about to blindly wander the territory with one of DawnStars kits? Yes- yes he was. “‘lright.” he huffed, not caring to poke further, he started treading alongside the younger as they went to leave.

Ashkit's ears pinned back for a moment as his dad snapped at an apprentice, only to flick forward again to pay attention to the next words that came out of his dad's mouth.

Demoted? Fogha- Fogpaw? His dad got demoted?

Ashkit paused for a moment, looking down at the ground as he thought. His dad seemed upset, and Ashkit guessed that he would probably be upset, too, if he ever got demoted. He wondered why Dawnstar would demote Fogpaw. He couldn't imagine his dad doing something that bad!

But, Ashkit could think of something that did sound good about it! "So, when I get promoted, we get to be apprentices together?" He asked with a big smile. He didn't want to see his dad upset. "Then we can talk and play and train together!"

Once again, Irispaw isn't quite sure what to do at the moment.
But, he also doesn't necessarily care.

For now, he sits just outside the apprentice den, thinking.
Not thinking about anything specific, just thinking in general.
