"Oh, okay! Then I guess I just need to wait a couple more moons and I'll be an apprentice!" Wildkit said, puffing his chest out as though he has figured out a puzzle.

Following the apprentice's gaze, Wildkit glanced back at the nursery. No one seemed to be coming out, so the question must have been for the little calico. He looked back up at Morningpaw and smiled. "Talking to you!" He replied simply. What else would he be doing? He had nothing else to do before this except get away from bickering between two other kits in the nursery. "Oh, can you show me some hunting crouches? You already hunt, right? I really wanna be a good hunter when I get older!" He said.

Wildkit grinned, excited by Morningpaw's excitement and jumping to his feet. "Yeah! Hunting is super important, so it's gotta be the bestest!" He replied, bouncing a bit. "Please, please, please! I wanna learn!" He squeaked, more than meeting Morningpaw's newly animated attitude.

Wildkit watched Morningpaw closely, eyes wide as the mottled tabby relaxed into a hunting position. His tail twitched as he crouched down unevenly. Wildkit tried to figure out how Morningpaw could move like this, as all of the little calico's weight leaned towards his front paws, hind raised a bit too high trying to avoid his tail touching the ground. "Like this?" He asked, feeling a bit too front heavy.

The little calico tried making the adjustments Morningpaw was explaining, while also trying to stay in the position that the apprentice assisted him in reaching. Wildkit widened his stance a bit more, which felt way more balanced, but his little legs started shaking quick from the effort of the new position.

The little kit took a few, shaky steps in the slightly improved crouch before falling flat. He paused, glanced up at Morningpaw, then jumped back to his paws and tried again. He didn't immediately reach a balanced position, but at least it was less shaky... just more difficult to move. "This is harder than I thought!" He said, honestly getting tired faster than expected.

Usually his crouches for playing with the other kits were more narrow and easier to maintain, though there was no semblance of actual stealth in them.

"Nuh-uh, I'm fine!" Wildkit replied quickly, slightly panicking. If he didn't keep going, then Morningpaw would probably get bored and leave! Then Wildkit would be bored and alone again! Nope! He'd keep trying to perfect his hunting crouch, instead!

He crouched and narrowed his eyes, pupils widening as the kit caught sight of Morningpaw's flicking tail. Her crouched low, ears pinned back and back paws adjusting rapidly in a wiggling motion. Just gotta land on that tail, and the fluffy kit would feel like he made enough progress.

BONK! Instead of a soft tail, Wildkit had over shot his pounce and landed face first in the muddy clearing ground. He sat up quickly, shaking out his pelt as his face grew hot from the miss. It hadn't really hurt him physically, it was just a bit of a blow on what little ego he had. His nose ached a little bit, making him sneeze and dislodging some of the mud and dirt now plastered on him. "Oops..."
