Grateful he wouldn't have to explain why Egretkit couldn't climb on the ceiling--he had only gotten to the "because you won't stay up there" part in his head--Hawkfur crouched down so his tiny daughter could haul herself up onto his spine. He was rather large, so he did his best to squish himself down as much as possible so she could climb on easily. Her tiny claws pricked his skin, but his thick fur kept it from hurting. "Ready?" He purred, hearing her squeak of confirmation behind him and slowly pushing himself to his paws. He stretched up, up, up until he was on his toes, his ears brushing the den ceiling. He twisted his head so he could glance over his shoulder at his daughter. "See anything cool, Egretlove?"

Oh ohohoho!! Who was this!! Crowkit’s eyes widened as he stopped his practice pounce in its tracks. Tail still wiggling in the air as someone new walked into the nursery. It was someone that he didn’t recognize her immediately and that meant that Crowkit had to know this mysterious stranger immediately!! And they even brought a whole mouse!!! Wowzers!!! This stranger was so talented! She must’ve caught the mouse by herself! Crowkit wants to catch a mouse, that’s be so so so so fun!!!!! Yes it would! He smiled and on his slightly wobbly legs he waddled over to the stranger. Not one shy bone in his tiny body as he looked up at her with a grin of full sharp, kitten teeth. “Hi stranger!!! Did you catch this mouse yourself?! That’s so cool! How’s you do it?” Crowkit dropped into a horrid little hunting stance, it was wrong in so many ways. Then he jumped forward towards the mouse, only to completely miss the mark and go tumbling paws over head onto the floor besides the stranger’s paws.

The tomkit let out a satisfied huff as he buried his muzzle further into the ginger fur and green moss that surround him. The warmth from the nest and the bodies that surrounded him sank through his fur and into his bones. Comforting. Content. The air was filled with scent of milk, dirt and other earth smells along with it came the musky odor of the sleeping bodies beside him. They were familiar to him, he preferred the scent of the cat who feeds him though and of the other. The cat with fur as soft as moss, he still remembers his scent even though it was faint.

Jaggedkit's peaceful nap was interrupted by the movement beside him, he let out a grumble in response and tried to bury himself further into the nest. It was futile as he was bumped again! Snapping his green eyes open, he took in his surroundings. The dim light still hurt his eyes and everything came together in a blurry. Slowly his eyes focused and the features of the nursery became more clear, he wasn't interested in looking at the wall of the den today. Turning his head he spotted pest who had kept disrupting his sleep with their squirming. His littermate, his fur the same as his own. A low rumbling sound formed in his chest as he stared down at the body. Using what little strength he had he rolled onto his side purposely knocking into the kit next to him. If he didn't get to sleep neither did frostkit. It was only fair after all.
