Re: RiverClan Nursery
Ospreykit RiverClan Kit ♡ She/Her ♡ 5 moons "And if it's crazy, live a little crazy" Ospreykit hummed with delight as she saw a warrior enter the nursery, and she bounced over to greet the grey tom. H-hi! She squeaked, her eyes glowing with enthusiasm. She wasn't embarrassed by her stutter anymore, as meeting Featherpaw and becoming friends with her had helped... it had helped a lot. W-whatcha doin'? She mewed curiously, her ears pricking as she leaned forward. Ospreykit threw on a warm smile, her tiny teeth glinting off of the sunlight that leaked through the den. She was going to be an apprentice soon! She couldn't wait! Who would be her mentor? Would she like them? Would they like her? Ospreykit zoned out as she began to panic, her heart beginning to increase its rate. Her eyes rounded with fear as she shifted uneasily on her paws, and she blinked slowly, as if returning to her usual excited self. { @Broadwaykat } |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
Gullfeather Tom White with gray patches and blue eyes. Fear, true fear, was in the eye of the beholder; a bit of mind over matter. But it was one lesson that Gullfeather had yet to master. To his credit, he kept himself from shrieking as a minute furry someone rocketed towards him - but that was mostly due to the silvery fish currently clamped in his jaws. As it was, he inhaled, bit down, and promptly choked on a flurry of loose scales. "Mmhm!" It took him a moment to catch his breath, a moment longer to make any sort of noise that was anywhere near intelligible; and mostly because he noticed the wide eyes and the tremoring voice and figured he'd accidentally terrified the kit. "Oh, nothing really...I didn't mean...I mean I did mean...I brought food!" He nudged the fish a little closer, wincing as he noticed that it wasn't nearly as nice or intact as it had been moments previously. "I hope you're hungry! Or some of you are. Anyone, really..." @SugarHeartzSage |

Turtlekit RiverClan Kit ♡ She/Her ♡ 5 moons "And if it's crazy, live a little crazy" Ospreykit nodded, staring ahead at the fish that Gullfeather had brought. T-thank you! She purred, blinking warmly at the tom. I-I was j-just g-gonna get something to e-eat. She explained feebly, taking a bite into the scaly gray fish. I w-wanna l-learn how t-to catch f-fish s-someday! She exclaimed, looking at the warrior with admiration. B-but guess w-what? Ospreykit grinned, her tail lifting as she couldn't contain her excitement. I-I'm G-gonna b-be an apprentice s-soon! She told him, her eyes gleaming with apprehension. T-that m-means I'll b-be able to f-fight and hunt and be a w-warrior! She squealed happily, her ears pricking and her tail swishing across the floor of the nursery. Once I'm an ap-pprentice, I-I'm g-gonna see t-the places o-out of c-camp! She went on, looking towards the entrance of the nursery longingly. She remembered the stories of cats being exiled and shuddered. Morningpaw had gotten exiled for killing a cat, and she had heard that her mentor had been killed. Would Owlstar exile her when she was an apprentice? Would she kill her? Ospreykit shuddered at the thought, then shook out her pelt, peering up at Gullfeather with her small kit eyes. { @Broadwaykat } |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
Gullfeather Tom White with gray patches and blue eyes. The kit certainly had good manners - it'd been a bit since he'd been actively thanked by someone. He supposed he should show her a bit of respect - flatten his fur, still his racing heart - not just because of that, but because she was literally a fraction of his own size as it was. And a clanmate. And really actually rather sweet. "Well, that's what we're here for, then! To bring what you like. You'll learn how to fish soon enough." He placated. Although - quite soon enough. Six moons - they'd be out there soon enough running around. There was a haltingness to the way she spoke that made him wonder if she was fearful too, or if it was just a quirk. In any case he did his best to try and ease things; for himself as much as her. Last thing he'd want was to be accused of frightening the poor thing. "Of course you are - and there's plenty to explore out there - but it's...it's good being in here, isn't it? Food comes right to your paws, after all - a bit trickier to get it out there." He mrred. "What do you think - what's the first thing you'd want to do as an apprentice." @SugarHeartzSage (Heads up your title says turtlekit your post Ospreykit just syk.) |

Re: RiverClan Nursery
Hickorykit Silky white and bluish grey tom with cream rosetted markings, light amber orbes, and a curly tail. The small child lets a series of indignant yowls at whoever has shoved him into this cold, horrible place. Eww. A tiny scowl etched across his features, a little growl comes from his maw as he's baraded by someone's tongue and manhandled, just who does this giant think they are? They shall know his wrath. He squirms as he's put down next to similar-sized things. But they're fluffy and fairly warm so he'll let it slide. Nevermind! No, he will most definitely not be letting it slide! They're soooo loud, hurting his ears with their pathetic wining. Thus he snaps at them viciously (not really hitting them of course, one- because he can't actually see his targets and two- because they might be useful to him in the future of course), hoping to scare them into submission. Because he's terrifying. They should be afraid- very afraid. @Cloverspring | @newo | @Foxlily | @JusticeBunny | @Rose | @Nahbois |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
Claykit || she/her || cream fur with white markings || A series of cries from one of the smaller kits joined the cacophony of new life. The cries turned into short mewls as the bundle of light colored fur wormed her way closer to the source of warmth. It was not far, thankfully, though she surely had enough energy to crawl across the nursery if she had to. She flopped down next to her mother, a beacon of warmth and future food, paws spread out far enough that they surely prod at any siblings too close. Not that she knew where they were exactly. The tiny kit already seemed rather content with this small part of the world, despite not being able to see it yet. |
Re: RiverClan Nursery
Songwave was pawing through the fresh-kill pile nearby when it happened, looking for the best piece of prey the clan had to offer. The warrior knew Almondchatter wasn't feeling well, but, being the way he is, he didn't press any further for information. Instead, he did everything he could for her, that being; trusting in the medicine cat to do their best, getting her food, water and comfort, and providing her company, even if that meant bringing over other cats to talk with her. He loved talking with her, but she loved talking more, and, being aware of his flaws, he knew that bringing others into their conversation wouldn't take away from his attention or words, but complement it. She seemed very insistent on bringing Wisteriawren with her, and for his mate, he helped guide the grey she-cat to her side for a long chat.
It was in that time of absence when it actually began, and the warrior found himself being retrieved by Wisteriawren instead. He rushed to the den and crouched by his mate's side, prey-less and without experience, but ready to assist with anything. Even if she couldn't register what Songwave was saying his jaw continued to move up and down the whole time, with comforting words he'd said to her before, 'I'm here for you; I'm always here for you; I love you...', encouraging sentences he'd heard from the other Queen's stories 'Hang in there; keep going; you're doing great...', and some new things he couldn't say out loud yet. Mainly because the feeling was so overwhelming that he couldn't find any words to express it. He helped the experienced cats as they instructed him, nipping sacks and licking kittens against their fur to give them their breath, or their mewls, depending on how they greeted the world. It was a chaotic, all-consuming moment, there wasn't any time, just licking, little shrieking, his mate's pain. And then, it was over. ------------------------------------- Once all the kittens were by their mother's side Songwave took a step back, heartbeats no longer screaming from his own panic and relief washing over. His mate and their kits, together. What an unreal sight, he almost didn't believe he was awake. At Almondchatter's "You.", his brows furrowed and heart dropped. For a moment, he thought he'd done something wrong. He'd never helped with a litter of kittens before, let alone his own, so there was every chance he did. The tom's ears swivelled and he tilted his head down slightly, mind running over how he could have done better before she followed up with "Come see them." The father lifted his head up, brows releasing from their pinched position and gaze moving down from Almondchatter's face to five others. Songwave's expression was one of curiosity and wonder, with his pupils so wide that they almost covered his eyes. They were so tiny, he couldn't remember ever being so small. The father put a paw down to move forward, but pulled it back up off the ground again. He looked over at Almondchatter, before he chose to place his paw back down and move forward again. Songwave laid down on the opposite side of his mate, both of them forming a safe, warm circle of fur around their bundle of kits. "They certainly are." The father purred, his response coming out raspier than he intended. His voice had never been used so much, and so he settled on giving his mate a lick on her cheek to say everything he couldn't. At the sound of a little sharp mew caused Songwave to turn and face the kits again. He scanned over a cream and white kit, legs sprawled as far as they could go, before focusing on a larger kit with a rather scrunched up little face. It had the white and blue-grey of his own pelt, and the light cream markings of Almondchatter's, along with a strange tail. It was healthy but restless, and the father could almost feel it's annoyance from the way it acted with the other kits. Still purring, Songwave nosed it's head and ears, rubbing his soft muzzle comfortingly over their head rather than licking them. "Should we name them yet?" The tom moved his head away from the kit, taking in all their colours and personalities. They had barely begun to move, but Songwave felt like he knew them already. Still, Almondchatter looked and sounded exhausted, so he was happy to wait until she was ready.
