Cloverkit hissed and jumped off of Daffodilpaw. She attempted to snatch the ball from Viperkit but stumbled and ran head first into the other kit walking by. Ah, sorry. Cloverkit muttered and looked at the other kit. Sorry. She repeated unemotionally. Cloverkit blinked. She twitched her tail and turned back to the apprentice and Viperkit.

A small near-squeak sound leaves the kit’s mouth as she is pounced by Coverkit, realizing that she was still playing the chase-the-mossball game, squirming and thrashing a bit to try and zoom out of her playmate, with or without the little ball, until she managed to free herself.

However, as soon as the mossball was flung her way, much to her surprise, she jumped just high enough to catch it, right before zooming towards and behind Daffodilpaw, fully intending to use her as a shield between herself and Cloverkit in a playful manner. It was her turn with the ball!

Daffodilpaw tilted her head thoughtfully at Viperkit's question. "Y'know...I don't think anycat has ever tried." She said with a light shrug. "I don't think it would be the effort though really. They're not really that much bigger than other prey, but other prey don't have the spi-" The game commenced! She ducked her head to look underneath her legs as Viperkit slipped behind her. Then turned her attention to Cloverkit, excited to see what she would do next. Her tail twitching with anticipation.

"Umph!" Daffodilpaw grunted when Cloverkit launched off her, then let out a little gasp when the two kits collided. Daffodilpaw carefully stepped aside and bent to sniff the other kit. "You okay little one?" She gave the kit an encouraging lick between their ears. How did I not see her there??

Even at such a young age, being only a few weeks old, Cardinalkit had big aspirations. Seedkit, on the other hand just wanted to be like dad. He was soft and compassionate, gently-spoken and sweet. Seedkit loved dad, and she wanted to be just like him!

Power seeking just wasn't her thing. Then again, she was only a few weeks old, so maybe eventually she would strive to be strong and important like all of the big cats, but right now? Not of her concern, not at all. Especially not when she was snuggled up in her family-and-not-family's comfy nest.

She blinked open her eyes at a surprised yelp that sounded from somewhere nearby, followed by some tumbling about. When the familiar scent of one of her siblings had plopped down beside her, she lifted her head to look at them–

“Car-nl-kit.” Her sister's name was hard. Seedkit would get it eventually, though. Just not today. “Wha's wh-ong?”

Ashkit didn’t mind getting bumped by someone. She didn’t do it on purpose and that was how far his reasoning went. Although she didn’t seem to have said sorry very warmly. But it was better than the cats he knew that hit you very hard while running and that didn’t even say sorry, but just yelled at you for being on their path.
Ashkit accepted her apologies by nodding and then answered to Daffodilpaw. “I’m okay,” he said, happy to have someone care for him. “She didn’t hit me hard. I’m used to it anyways.” Those careless outsiders were just doing that to me everyday, but they hit me a lot harder. He wanted to add. But he didn’t.

Viperkit would peek her head from the improvised shield Daffodilpaw had turned into, still holding the mossball tightly between her teeth, ears lowering as she hadn’t noticed their game had caused Cloverkit to accidentally bump into another kit.

“Fjowhy…” The mossball in her mouth caused the apology to come out a bit… unintelligible, but she dared not to drop it and hoped the new kit would understand.

She, however, had little time to think about this as Cloverkit resumed the chase, ears perking up as she started moving, aiming to keep the apprentice between the two in a playful way, except for the occasional peek to make sure her playmate wasn’t trying something sneaky nor to lose her position completely...

Ashkit smiled. He observed at the cats running about with the ball. He wondered if his life would have been different if he was clan born. Probably. For a starter he would have much more friends. And he would have more fun with others. Ashkit watched as the ball bounced about, getting caught by the older cat and then being snatched by the two younger ones.
The ball bounced near him and he threw it upwards, looking at who would catch it.

Daffodilpaw purred in amusement as Viperkit continued to use her as a living shield, but she noticed the new kit only looking on. "Why don't you join in?" She asked, leaning over to give Ashkit a gentle and encouraging nudge with her muzzle. "They won't bite!" She meowed, then gave Cloverkit a teasing look. "Well, I can't promise Cloverkit won't bite!" She said with a grin.

Cloverkit pouted at all the attention the other kit was getting. I'm fine. Thanks for asking. She muttered half to herself. Cloverkit twitched her tail at Viperkit to keep playing.

Hawkfur had been too focused on remaining stable as Egretkit wobbled around on his back to notice the Thing that fell to his fur. His daughter's delighted squeal had him turning his head, which dislodged the bug and had it thudding audibly to the floor. Hawkfur's gaze shot down to it, and the primitive defense mechanism of "aw hell naw" took over. Hawkfur yelped, rearing out of the way and only managing to twist just in time to save his daughter from getting flung. Instead he landed in a heap, fluffy red fur covering her downy brown and lilac coat. The bug skittered away from the commotion, job well done. Once his heart had resumed it's normal, nervous pacing, Hawkfur looked down at Egretkit. "Raining bugs?? That's new. Are you alright Egretlove?"
