"oof!" Honeypaw exlaimed as Eagleflower hit them. "I bet I did the most basic thing a kit would do," Honeypaw mewed, a little embarrassed at how anyone could've dodged shim.
(I'm going to use "shim" instead of "them" so you don't get confused and think I'm talking about both of them.)

Eagleflower stood by the apprentice, offering his shoulder to help him get up. He shook his head, smiling.
"Of course not! It was a good swipe. Here, let me show you something." He mewed, nodding. He pretended a small leaf on the floor was the enemy, and growled at it sheepishly. He tried to keep himself from laughing. Holding his body low to the ground, he swiped at the leaf, causing it to float in the air. Ducking under it, he turned and battered it's backside.
"Try that, but on me. It works!" Starclan, he must have looked stupid.

Honeypaw softly giggled. They copied what Eagleflower had done, mimicking his growl, too. They aimed to swipe at his flank, ducked under him, and aimed to batter his stomach.

Eagleflower smiled at his apprentice, grinning at his small chuckle. He really was a shy little thing. He tensed his muscles, ready for the attack. He growled back, eyes narrowed.
"I am a Shadowclan warrior! You shall never defeat m-" He was cut off as the apprentice battered him, pretending to wince and jump backwards.
"Good job! Now, if a cat ever tries to do it to you, try this-" He mewed, returning to the leaf. He shuffled it beneath him, the lumped in it with all four legs. "There! Make sure you jump real hard- it'll wind them and give you an advantage."

"We're gonna start with the very basics since this is your first session. Before that though - I want you to show me what you think you know." The deputy turned to face his apprentice, placing himself roughly in the center of the training island. At best, he expected her attacks to be wobbly, inconsistent, and poorly timed - anything she knew would come from playing rough with the other kits. That was the point of this training, though, she was here to learn. By the time her warrior ceremony rolled around, he intended to make her the best that she could be.

"Come on, then."

Foxpaw dropped into a battle crouch she'd seen apprentices practicing in the clearing and recalled their actions. She pounced as well as she could at her mentor but she still wobbled a bit as she did.
