Then the first voice said something strange. "Jump.. cats paws..." Did the voice mean to jump at a cat's paws? His shell shocked and tired brain was a little slow to realize what the voice meant. Then it hit him. He needed to jump at a cat who could grab him. But what use would it be to jump if he couldn't see where he was jumping? but then he remembered the second voice that was also yelling at him. He should probably jump at that voice. So gathering what little strength Spinekit had left, he positioned himself facing the second voice and jumped. {DUN DUN DUHHHH! will Smokeblossom catch the poor bab? Find out in the next issue of Cats can't swim!} |

~~~~ Dungpaw barely even acknowledged that Gingerpaw froze up. He was more interested in getting mud out of his paws with a stick rather than his tounge. Elmpaw knew Gingerpaw had froze up, but he didn't want to embarrass her so he didn't mention it he chuckled at Dungpaw,"Ya know, Dungpaw most cats use there tongue rather than a stick." Dungpaw paused,"Well the mud tastes nasty, I know I'm usually in the ' most cats ' group, but not on this when it tastes bad." Elmpaw burst into loud raucous laughter. Dungpaw glanced at him giving him the look. Elmpaw said," Not you, it was the squirrels playing tag." Dungpaw shrugged it off not even caring to notice that there were no squirrels around. |
Needlescar smiled softly, her head dipping in a tiny nod as she turned to look at his face. "Yeah, I mean it's not like we're in StarClan." She purred quietly, nuzzling into his fur. Their conversation was tired and lacking, but it was the best she could do. Needlescar's gaze swept up to the rain, which had caused this flooding and death. She cast a tiny, weak smile in attempts to lighten the mood. Her heart was thudding in her chest as she blushed, noticing how close together they were. She wanted to be closer, but she'd just met him this morning. She couldn't let herself screw this up. Needlescar wouldn't screw this up.. hopefully. The thought of doing something wrong made her nervous. She followed his gaze with hers, ears pricked as she gazed at the forest. The leaves were dripping with rain, soothing her as she let her thoughts wander off. She shivered slightly and turned away from it, trying to find something to distract herself. Needlescar felt awkward so close to him, but he was so warm. Her fur was slowly becoming fluffy and warm again, the water still weighing it down and coating it with cold rain. She gazed up at Pinewhisker, a smile on her maw. He was the only cat who could make her laugh, or smile, whenever he was around. Needlescar gazed at the dirty water flooding their camp, sighing. She'd been able to sleep yet how she was unsure of. It was so loud, threatening now that she was awake. Her tail lashed as she forced herself not to freeze, taking a deep breath. She purred softly, her head leaned onto Pinewhisker as she stretched her limbs, stiff after sleeping. He seemed worried, so she gave him a little reassuring nuzzle. Unsure if it was the wrong move, she sat up and glanced at the water, the tips of her ears feeling hot. She giggled as he glanced down at her, eyes shining with warmth and energy. Something she usually lacked. His words made her blush harder, thankfully hidden by her fur, and she chuckled. "Hello, handsome." She teased, her tail curling around her paws as he realized what he had said, making a full laugh bubble out. It was cute, how he seemed to embarrassed by his slip of words. She stood, leaning against him. "T-To help you balance because of your.. leg!" She explained, shuffling her paws slightly and gazing around. She wanted a safe way out of this place, they were already injured enough for her liking. She turned her gaze to where his was, ears pricking with excitement. "That seems like the best path to follow, better than being lost alone." She mewed, nodding. Swallowing her doubt and nervousness away, Needlescar began to walk with him towards the path, hoping they were correct. She smiled softly at his nervousness, following before she shortly was by his side. It felt more.. nice than awkwardly trailing behind him. He seemed shyer, and Needlescar's ear-tips again grew hot. 'Why do I feel like this?' She thought, nodding. "R-Right!" |
Wolfpaw woke up to the sound of water crashing on rock. He felt a shiver go down his spine. Oh, right...the rain...the Flood! Shadowclan! WE GOTTA GET OUT OF HERE! The grey Tom was so startled that he leaped up, forgetting about the low rocky roof above him. He smacked the top of his head on the stone then fell back to the ground, blinded by the pain. "AHHHHHH! Ow ow ow ouuuuucchh! Ooooowwwww!" then a tiny dark figure stirred next to him. Nightkit. "Ahahahaaaa!" he shook Nightkit with a wet paw. "Hey, Nightkit..." he whispered "wake up...it's the next day. You've gotta get up, come on." he urged. |
"If you haven't noticed, Beautiful, No one's lightening up until the sky does so...you're stuck with me..." "Whatever...you're always the same CloverCarnation...thankfully it's the one I've always known..." "You change CottonFlower..." "So do the times..." CloverCarnation just grumbled something then stopped arguing. That's what I thought... The grey tabby she-cat thought before speeding up ahead of the group. Eventually they reached the top, panting. |
Stormrose looked around her with the bright green eyes her father gave her, Honeythistle. The young warrior wondered where her family was... well her important family: Honeythistle, her father, Mothflower, her mother, and Sunrisedapple, her sister. Stormrose had to many brothers and sisters to count due to her father's multiple wives. The long furrowed she-cat did not agree with his ways, but he was her father, and she guessed it was custom to love both parents in some sort of way. However, she believed her mother should be his only mate. Mothflower was the best mate he had at the moment anyway. Stormrose sighed at these thoughts as she lumbered through the hard rain and muddy ground. She didn't really appreciate her fine, long furrowed, dilute calico pelt. The warrior wasn't a stuck up, snobby she-cat, however, which she supposed was good. As the mud got thicker, Stormrose picked up her feet higher. She squinted her eyes to keep up with the group of fleeing clan cats ahead of her. The female turned her head around for a few moments to get a quick glance of her home. She could see water rushing in and out of dens. There was the nursery that Stormrose so dearly loved, the apprentice den, which she didn't care much for because her apprentice years weren't the best. She didn't make many friends because of her blunt personality and the desire to be alone a good amount of the time. However, when she laid her emerald green eyes upon the warriors den, she felt her throat choke up. That was where she slept and would hear stories from other warriors that on rare occasions would make her laugh. Stormrose frowned as she slowly turned her head back towards the group in front of her. She knew the journey to find safe ground was going to take a while. |
@Lonestar23 @Wyldfire @Constellation @KKShift @Willowpillow @Bella~ @Ludicrous Lunacy @monfang @Empress Of Evil @fenic! @Suspiciousmindz @Lilly The young tom groggily followed his mother, his eyes half idled and his ears pinned to the side of his head. It was loud, way too loud, he was confused and slightly angry. The spotted kit slipped and fell in the mud, his muzzle and lower body was now caked in the sticky substance. "Mom" he whined "What's happening." he asked as he picked himself up and once again began to trudge forward. When he stepped out his green eyes widened and filled with terror, the clan was falling down. What was happening, his whole world, everything he knew was falling apart around him. Speckledkit let out a whimper and looked around, the cats running away, the falling soil, the collapsing dens, it was hell. The kit looked up at his mother, then looked at his siblings, terror blazed in his leafy green orbs. "m-mama." he whispered, he was frozen solid, his legs wouldn't listen to his commands. He was terrified. @Lilly The golden warrior looked down at redraw, then turned his gaze back up to the log, his ears flicking as he listened to the claws scratching against the wet log. He still didn't know what to make of all of this yet, for a second he actually began to believe his step-brothers rantings about Starclans anger with the clans. Was Shadowclan really so unpure that they needed to go through all of this? Wasn't it much? And then his mind did a whole 180. What if Starclan wasn't trying to punish them, what if they were trying to unify two clans, what if they were trying to help the clan not only go through something horrible together to make their bond stronger with one another, maybe their ancestors were trying to strengthen the bonds between other clans as well. The thought of this made the tabby smile for a moment before it was once again replaced with a serious gaze, focusing once again on the task at hand. Blazingsky turned his attention to Redpaw "no...most wont sadly, but we wont worry about that yet." he said as he stepped forward, the pair were now standing directly in front of the log, being pushed and shoved by their classmates as they clambered up the log. "Right now you need to keep a clear mind. You'll walk across the log first, I'll be right behind you, if you fall I'll catch you, I promise." he said. although he knew it wasn't much he felt as though a few words of support would help, after all, he was terrified as well. @Raywood @Lunacross @Lilly (I'll just mention you twice just in case) The caramel warrior looked around, his amber gaze blazed with uncertainty. Too much was happening, the noise, too much noise, it made it hard to concentrate. The tom followed the orders he was given, evacuate, nothing less of course. He had helped a few clanmates that required assistance, those who were stuck, kits who were lost, elders, queens. Upon that thought he turned his attention to the loud crashing noise, followed by a few familiar voices. The warrior quickly made his way over to his brothers and step sisters, his orbs danced with worry. "Is everyone okay?" he asked. Bumblebear still wasn't sure what to make of the situation yet, his home was falling apart around him, his siblings were in danger, he wasn't even sure that his mother and father were alive and well. He lashed his tail and looked the trio over, making sure none of them were injured. After making sure no one was hurt he turned his gaze to the camp entrance, or what was left of it "We need to catch up with the rest of the clan." he stated, his fur barely brushing Peachfuzz's. He would admit it, he was terrified, he wasn't sure what to make of it yet. "...Do you think this is Starclans doing?" he asked, his gaze flicking back to Aspenfall, lingering for a moment. Bumblebear wasn't an idiot, he knew what his brothers thought about Starclan, how they felt about gays and homosexuals. His mind was dragged back into the real world when the warrior slipped and almost fell face first into the mud. Focus he told himself. @Fawn @monfang @Wyldfire The warrior smiled sweetly at bearblaze and dipped her head quickly "Sheepface." she said. Her tail lashed behind her and she began to pad forward, her face soaked, as well as the rest of her pelt. She had already wasted so much time, groveling in pain that she had waisted precious time for the tabby to escape, she had no time to chat. She quickly made her way to Lambkit and Antlerpaw and licked both their heads, joy danced in her green optics as she watched her kit and the apprentice pad forward, alive and well. "Goldeneye said we had to evacuate to Riverclan." she said aloud, she didn't like giving orders, she didn't like being in the spotlight, she was uncomfortable. Sheepface turned her gaze to Bearblaze and gave him a 'help me' look. |
Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
[Open] A ginger and white feline staggered around in the water, trying her best to push through. Like her own mother, the she-cat was heavily pregnant. Ambercrackle pushed through the flood, coughing and water splashed over her from time to time. She had to find her family, she didn't know if she could make it out of Shadowclan territory alone. "Quietdance! Feathermist!" Ambercrackle's golden eyes scanned around the territory for any sign of her parents. Her fur was soaked and along with her belly, that weighed her down quite a lot. "Do not give up Ambercrackle. You're strong." The feline mumbled to herself. She had no mate to help her, the cat who had gotten her pregnant was long gone. And I had thought he loved me.. But Ambercrackle shook her head, not wanting to dote on the thought of Burn at the moment. She had to get out of this water, and head towards Riverclan territory. She had heard Goldebeye's call, faint, but clear in her ears. Now she was trying to follow the sound. She was quite behind her fellow cats, but Ambercrackle would not give up, no matter how tired she became. These kits are my kits. And I will make sure they live. [Open] Wolfglare trudged through the water close behind the other Shadowclan cats. He was keeping an eye out for smaller cats who might need his help. But mostly he was looking for his brother, Smokepaw. The large tom moved easily through the water, his large size placing his head well above it. But he wasn't so sure if Smokepaw was okay. He had to find his brother, the younger cat meant everything to Wolfglare. If this flood causes his death... Wolfglare couldn't even finish the thought. @Constellation [ I hope Nightvenom's free] Morningfrost was searching wildly for those close to her. She knew that her dear sisters had mates that could help them, so she knew they'd be safe in the flood. Her brothers could fend for themselves. She didn't need anyone, but someone might need her help. Nightvenom. The name the tom cat popped into Morningfrost's mind. He annoyed her to death, but she still cared for him. Even though she was tough on the outside, she still had a loving heart. And Nightvenom was one of those cats she cared for. The feline just didn't show it. But deep concern lashed through her body. She hadn't seen the tom cat, and she wanted to make sure he was okay. "Nightvenom!!" She yowled, jumping on top of a log that was still sturdy and scanning the are for the large splotched tom. [ @Doodle @AbsurdJinx ] Strawberrythorn bounded along, her gaze searching wildly for her two youngest daughters, Flykit and Palekit. They were so young, and Strawberrythorn would not let them die in the flood. "Crimsonblaze! Find your sisters!" She barked to her son behind her. Honeythistle was probably helping his weaker mates, which Strawberry understood. She was a strong she-cat, and she had an older litter of kits that could help her. So she knew she could escape this flood without the help of her mate. Crimsonblaze pricked his ears at his mother's words, and the tomcat started to search the water for the two young kits. He might be very egotistical, but he loved his family, and he would not let any of them die. "Palekit! Flykit!" His yellow-green eyes were filled with concern as he searched for them. |
Palekit recognized her name being called, one of the few things she had learned in the short time she had been in this world. Everything else was a confusion to her: the loud rush of the flood, the howling of the storm, the shouts of nearly every other cat around her. Her bleary eyes tried to search for the shape she had learned to recognize as her mother, though she was still young and her eyesight hadn't yet fully developed. The young she-kit cried out, wishing for help, as she felt more water rushing around her. She wasn't sure where she had wound up, but this was definitely a different place than the nursery. In the panic of the flood, someone had probably tried to move the young cat to a safer place and then left to help others. But the water had risen since then, and this spot was safe no more. There was nothing she could do now but wait for a rescue and pray that it would come. |
Pinewhisker smiled down at his paws, a light blush forming on his muzzle once more as she called him handsome and the blush worsened when she laughed at his embarrassment. He was no expert when it came to socializing, especially when it was around she-cats. The poor warrior was just a loner in his own clan, working and just doing the same thing every day without really getting to know anyone. Needlescar was the closest he had ever gotten to another cat and it both excited and confused him in many ways that only he would understand in a sense. The brown-furred warrior blinked at her, however, when she leaned against him, making his fur prickle once again with embarrassment. “Of course, of course. Thank you for your help. I hope it isn’t broken.” Pinewhisker said, averting his gaze from hers to avoid any more awkwardness from him. He was delighted that she agreed with his path choice and the two of them began to walk through the woods to catch up with the rest of Shadowclan. Pinewhisker would occasionally cast a glance at her and then shake his head, scolding himself mentally about being so strange around this female. “You think that we’ll be staying with another clan for a while?” The warrior asked, “In this direction is Riverclan land, after all.” He was doing his best to strike up conversation and not have them walking in a cold, utter silence the whole way. There was enough weird, emotional tension between the two of them now. |
Re: ShadowClan Evacuation
Thistlefur was licking his thick gray coat, trying to get all the water out. It was a relief to finally sit down. He looked down disdainfully at the muddy ground. He sighed and looked around at ShadowClan. Even now, they were still helping each other. That was what he loved about his clan. Every cat would support their clanmate in any way they could. As far as he knew, each of his clanmates was loyal to ShadowClan and ShadowClan alone. Speaking of his clanmates, he looked around trying to spot Ivybreeze. A jolt of fear went through his body from his ears to his tail tip. Where was his sister?! He gulped. Last he had seen, she was heading out with the rest of the clan. He looked around for Ravenflight, her mate. He was almost always with her. "Ravenflight!" He called, jumping up as he shook the mud from his fur. |
Haykit shivered against Applepaw," Will we ever find a warrior who can get us to Riverclan?" All my senses tell me that we are in Shadowclan, but it doesn't smell like Shadowclan maybe something's wrong. I smell fear mixed with Shadowclan yet I also smell a faint tint of Riverclan
Applepaw nodded," I know we'll find a warrior who can help us reach Riverclan What if I'm wrong, will this poor kit die due to my lack of recognition of this part of the territory, her stomach churned, but she refused to let the kit know of her fears. (OPEN) |
Sunstrike stopped panting. He glanced around hoping to find a feble cat to help, despite having a mate expecting kits, he still was the biggest flirt in the clan. He wanted to flirt to keep his mind occupied, however; he couldn't find any she-cats who looked like they'd like him to comfort them with his flirting personality and good looks. He fled before the flooding passed his ankles so he was clean and dry. He stopped to groom his ankles of the mud that scarred them. Why aren't my typical flirters flirting with me? Just because we are leaving camp doesn't mean no one can flirt?! (OPEN)
[[aaaa that got out of order & starfall, Tinyfuzz is actually his sister-in-law, not a step sister ;) a step sister implies they currently share a parent!]]
@Lunacross ; @Lilly ; @starfall Drawing in a deep breath, a mix of smells infiltrated her, none of which particularly positive; she was trying to find her mate among the scrambling cats but only got a noseful of disgusting floodwater and the scent of sheer panic. She could help evacuate the camp, transport kits or aid elders in the journey, but the thought didn't even occur to her -- sure, she was a caring she-cat, but locating Peachfuzz was her first priority. Without her mate by her side and his calm albeit dominant instructions leading her on what to do, Tinyfuzz felt lost, as if she was stuck in a mental haze. |
