Following the meeting Heronflight decided to go hunting. She wanted to be useful and their pile was low as patrols hadn't went out. Why did both leader and deputy go missing? What was Riverclan going to do without them? She had no clue, but she had to stay strong for her clan. They needed to see that nothing would go wrong for their clan again. She headed out toward Cattail Pond as most likely there were more cats hunting in the main territory.

Heronflight headed out towards the pond. Maybe today was the day she would actually try to fish. She had seen her clanmates do it many times, so maybe she was able to now. She didn't mind getting her paws wet. It was like she had been born in this clan. Everyday she wished she had been. They took her in and gave her a better life. This time she wouldn't screw it up. She owed them so much. Plus maybe just maybe if she came here she might find scents of the missing high ranks. Well she wished she could. It would never happen though.

Heronflight padded up to the pond, looking down into the water. It had been a while since she had seen her reflection. All she saw was her past mistakes. She ignored it and waited for a fish to swim by. About a couple minutes later she saw one appear. She focused her lower eye on it. She strikes with her jaws and grabbed it, throwing it on the bank. It wiggled, trying to get back into the water, but she managed to grab it with her claws. She gave it a quick bite, ending its life.

The black and white molly was proud of herself. She did good on her first try. She wasn't entirely sure it was the right way, but it got it done. Didn't it? Of course! She peered into the water, trying to find another one. None appeared,s o she moved around trying to find a new spot. Heronflight sat down again and waited.
