Strawberrykit blinked up at the orange tom, her deadpan expression unimpressed. Rounded ears flicked, a permanent frown pasted on her maw the bellied her gnawing hunger. But she was full. It was an odd feeling. Her belly sloshed with milk, and her tummy was round. The signs of a clearly well-fed kitten.

Regardless, Strawberrykit found herself shuffling forward to smack Whisperinghive's tail, as if it'd offended her entire family. "I knows. You not special. Father told. Orange." She added as an afterthought. Creature, more accurately. "Stop move tail. I bite it."

His ears had only recently opened and he was still getting used to it, he had quite preferred the silence before. All this noise and chatting was annoying, he couldn't sleep. Small green eyes opened and glared at there surroundings. Oh well sleeping was boring anyway.

Sitting up, wobbly at first, the small tom watched the much bigger strangers running around. It was weird because they were also small, smaller than mamafire or fake mamafire or not mamafire? So confusing. His attention turned to the kits closest his family and not family's nest. They were bigger than him, so they were older. Curious eyes watched them as the girl one (ew girls) started yapping about being pretty to her brother. Jaggedkit looked at the tomkit waiting to see what his response to his sister's nonsense would be but he didn't. Come to think of it what was he doing?

Climbing out of his nest he took a few not very steady steps towards the other kits. "whas- wha T you is doin?" that sounded right? Yeah! Look at him talking, he talked way better then his littermates ever could. Yep.

Pretty stones? Jaggedkit glanced at the small rocks and frowned. "stowns arwn't pwetty" he retorted in a matter of fact voice. So it was confirmed, shekits where just fluffbrains. Jaggedkit scowled at being called small, he knew that why did it matter!? He drew his ears back in irritation as she insulted his excellent speaking abilities. How dare she!

The rude and awful fleabrains brother then spoke up to her. He then turned to Jaggedkit and introduced himself. Sedgekit and whistlekit. What were they named after? He and his littermates were named after stuff that snowydad liked. Or something like that. "I'm jag- jaggurdkit." unfair why was his name so hard to pronounce!

Jaggedkit whipped his gaze from sedgekit back to whistlekit. He fluffed up his fur and bared his very tiny teeth in a snarl. "no is not!!!" he hissed, standing tall. His small tail lashing behind him. "an' jaggurd isn a thing. Is a- a..." Jaggedkit struggled to remember exactly what snowydad had said. Strawberry kit was named after a strawberry, frostkit after snow something, Cardinalkit after a feather and Seedkit after a pine cone. He was named after a pointy looking rock. Is that what a jagged was?

"jaggurd means shawp rwock" he retorted. shooting whistlekit a glare he added, an' your name is dumb" what even was a whistle. Jaggedkit turned to look back at his nest where his littermates were still there, he wasn't sleepy and didn't feel like fighting frostkit for a spot next to fire not mom. "why you lookin for rowks?" rembering that's what the two kits had originally been doing

"no they not" Jaggedkit mumbles as he watches the two older kits dig up the rock. All that effort for a measly rock.... Once it's pulled out of the ground he watches as whistlekit admires it as if it's some kind of treasure. Again. It's just a rock. As she places it back on the ground so he can see, it catches the light and starts sparkling.

Jaggedkit eyes widen in awe as he watches the light dance across the rocks surface. It was pretty- uh no it wasn't. What was he thinking. He flicked his tail dismissively. Whistlekit then offers the rock to him as gift. First what would he do with a rock, it's kinda useless. Secondly he doesn't want a gift from a girl expscially not from whistlekit. Jaggedkit frowned and prodded the small stone, it was pretty but only when the light made it sparkle and there was no way he was admitting that!

"whats I supposed ta do wif dis?" he said pretending to be uninterested. Maybe he could give it to Seedkit, she'd like something like this right? To make sure the rock wasn't taken from him he put his paw on top of it and glared at whistlekit.
