"Right. Good." She lowered her voice. "I'm going to catch that vole-watch what I do." She dropped to a crouch, and slunk after the smell, closing her mouth and swiveling her ears. She spotted the vole and pounced on it, trapping it with her paws. She killed it quickly, brought it back, and buried it. "Alright, then. Shal we?" She turned and went a little deeper into the island's greenery, and stepped out into a small clearing. "This is where you'll be trained in fighting."

(Sorry, I was so overwhelmed I dropped the site for a bit)

He watched Lightstreak catch the vole, noticing the way she sunk neatly into a crouch to leap at the small creature. His eyes shone as he nodded. "We shall." Following after her, he gazed around, amazed at the view. "This is so cool! Can we battle train now? Build on what I was learning before?"

[Thanks for telling me!]

"Yes." She strode into the middle of clearing. "Please attack me."

Asterpaw's lip curled in delight. Finally! Some training action!

With reckless abandon Asterpaw threw himself at his mentor, legs splayed wide, chest and belly open for attack. His long limbs gave him a fast and powerful leap at his mentor.

Lightstreak lowered her head, aiming it at Asterpaw's belly, expecting it to knock the air out of him when he landed.

Rainsplash turned around, looking at Loonpaw. "Alright, first move. The crouch, leap, and scratch."He demonstrated the move by moving to the side a bit. He crouched down, his tail just above the ground. he took a couple of paces forwards before leaping and unsheathing his claws, scratching the air before landing. He then turned to his apprentice. "I know it's a bit difficult, and we can break up the move a bit if you have trouble, but it's the best move for attacking an enemy secretly, and even hunting. Though, with hunting, you bite down on the neck instead of using your claws." He paused for a second before speaking again "Now, try the move out for yourself"

Loonpaw watched Rainsplash quietly, keeping an eye on where he places his paws and used his tail for balance. She listened intently and blinked in surprise when it was her turn. Really? That was all there was to it? Loonpaw tossed her head aloofly and dropped into the crouch, imitating his movement. However, her overconfidence failed her in the most important part of the move and, as she leapt, found herself tripping over her own paws on the landing, and tumbled onto her face. Embarrassed, she stood up and shook out her pelt.
"Oof, sorry about that. Let me try that again," She meowed, wanting to redeem herself. She did a lot better on the second try, though this time found herself a bit too focused on nailing the landing she didn't have much time to scratch. She glanced at Rainsplash for critique, worried she was disappointing him already....

Rainsplash smiled. "Your second try was awesome for one of your first times" He purred. "I'll just point out a few things. ""First, you need to think about the move, but not so much that you don't actually attack the enemy. An example of this is picturing the move in your head quickly, then just doing it."He tapped his head. "Second, you have to make sure over-confidence doesn't get to your head. An example would be seeing a small enemy force while you were in a large force. Even if they appear small and easy, they might be concealing something. Though, in your case, you believed the move was easy. Barely anything is easy until you practice."He meowed, tapping her shoulder with a paw. "Now, I want you to try one more time."

(Lol, when you guys come back shes gonna be mad, but shes still so pure when shes mad so...)

(Ajrofjsjejd, I got really caught up in the battle and forgot to respond to everything else.)

Having shaken the water off, he turned to Greenpaw. "I think you said you hadn't gotten a chance for battle training but you've done some hunting. Do you know the hunting crouch?" If she did, this would be an easy start if nothing else.

She nodded and got into it immediately. Her pose was very sloppy, though.

"Hm, we'll have to work on that, too I guess but it's a good start! Move your paws so that they each hold your weight evenly. Getting knocked over is detrimental, especially if they roll you onto your back."
He quickly hunched over himself with his neck covering his chest and showed her how to shift the weight, hoping that by showing, it would be easier to follow.

@Greenleap

She copied, doing exactly the same.
