Re: WindClan Territory
Deadmoon wasn't quite sure what Featherpelt's game was here, but if he wanted to keep trading nothing blows around the front after their failed attempts to roll each other, that was fine by her. She put in enough effort to dodge the ones that might have been dangerous in a real fight, but allowed a few of the ones aimed at extremities to land, so that she had a few opportunities to take her own selection of swipes at his shoulders and head. What she wasn't expecting was for him to take off running. Weirdo. But it wasn't like she was going to let him just zip off, loath as she was to admit it their spar had actually been rather fun. With a somewhat provoking What, you're that scared of me? You're going to run away? she was after him, pursuing Featherpelt as he fled. #Earth @Roo_!

Re: WindClan Territory
Dreamlight's ears flickered frantically as she watched the two apprentices' attempts. Littlepaw picked it up like a natural, but Owlpaw seemed to find it harder. Dreamlight figured it was because he was younger. He made a few mistakes, but her heart nearly broke when he turned and looked at her so ashamed. "Aw, Owlpaw don't look at me like that." The she-cat trilled teasingly, padded over, and immediately moved to cover her apprentice's head and cheek in affectionate nuzzles and licks. "You made a few mistakes, but that's what practice is for. You'd don't have to purrfect." Dreamlight purred gently. The mentor glanced in the direction of her brother as he told her he'd be taking Littlepaw and doing some hunting on their own. The orange-eyed warrior didn't mind since it'd probably be worse if they stood around and waited on Owlpaw. "So here we go, first things first," Dreamlight started pulling away from the apprentice. "When crouching, don't let your belly drag along the ground. Try pulling your paws closer together, about shoulder width from each other." She demonstrated again making sure he had a visual as she spoke. "You'll wanna soften your paw steps a bit, if you move too loudly you'll scare off anything your hunting otherwise. And when you pounce, judge the distance as best you can before leaping. If it's further away put more power into your back legs before springing." |

Leafpelt was lying hurt in a grass patch, with a dead hawk close to her body.

Leechscar could see the Littlepaw was a bit nervous, but she took point without complaints. Leechscar brought up the rear, keeping a good tail length behind the molly as he listened carefully to her paw steps. She was really quiet it seemed like a natural thing for her. She didn't stray from their trail and located their prey quickly. Leechscar had dropped down into a crouch, stalking along the ground as he spotted the rabbit a bit before her and didn't want to give their location away. The warrior inched his way forward, settling beside Littlepaw near some long grass. Leechscar didn't bother telling her to crouch he assumed she'd just follow his lead after a moment. The rabbit was some fox lengths off doing whatever rabbits did out here. Leechscar briefly glanced at the sky, making sure there were no fly shadows or large birds of prey in the area before giving Littlepaw his full attention. "Not bad, Runt. Now it's time for the real fun." Leechscar smirked, "I'll teach you how to chase down a rabbit later, for right now, I just want to see you catch it. So here's what we're going to do. I'm going to circle around and herd the rabbit in your direction." He meowed, carefully scanning to make sure that there weren't any holes around the rabbit that could immediately vanish into. "All you have to do is time your pounce just right and take it down. Easy." He said, waiting to hear her thoughts. |

He smiled and took a deep breath. She was right, he couldn't give up so quickly. This was his first time after all, so of course he wouldn't be perfect on the get-go. It just meant he'd have to try again, and again, and as many times as he needed to succeed! Image of my oc was created using Clangen Cat Maker |

Re: WindClan Territory
Hooray! Goldenpaw had actually caught something, and apparently hadn't been too far away from a rabbit. Deadmoon was rather selfishly pleased that she hadn't been showed up by the apprentice in that regard, but she tried to quash that little tickle of schadenfreude down as quickly as it appeared. She was old enough for more maturity than that now, or at least she ought to be. Seems like you did pretty well even so! she purred, before adding jokingly It's better that the bird scared away your rabbit than carried you off! Goldenpaw was probably big enough that it wouldn't be able to, but you never knew, and she thought it was sort of funny, so she said it.
Picking up her own prey, she mewed a muffled Wets gho back foo campf waving her paw in the general direction for good measure. She set off at a decent pace, fast enough that they wouldn't spend a moon getting back but slowly enough that they wouldn't be panting and out of breath when they got there. On the way back though, she made a rather unfortunate realization. She'd been having a pretty fun time hunting and pretending to be smart with Goldenpaw, but the fact stood that she'd found him wandering around sans supervision, and as a totally responsible warrior she shouldn't encourage that. Thus, as they neared camp, she dropped her prey and mewed Perhaps you should take all of this to the elders den, and see if they need new moss or anything. That should keep you busy long enough that you don't run off again until tomorrow, and then you can be someone else's problem! She didn't really see it as a terribly problem, that he had been out, seeing as he was in the middle of the territory where it was safe enough, but standards. As such, she communicated her rather firm suggestion in as authoritative voice as she could muster, while lapsing into more of a joking one for the wholly unnecessary final comments, which she tended to make with great regularity. @ameko (I'm thinking this is probably the end? Unless you had anything additional in mind!) |
