Kate snapped her head open from where she was dozing. Nightshade? Her eyes flicked to Night. She's started her kitting hasn't she? She rushed over to Nightshade, placing a paw on her belly. Nightshade, you've got to push. She growled softly. It's going to be painful, but you're tough.

Jack pounded over to his mate. Our kits! He yelped in fear and excitement. Are you alright? He licked her between her ears, flicking his tail.

Kate nodded and placed her paw back on Nightshade's belly. She felt it roll beneath her pads. The first kit was coming. Come on Nightshade! She yowled.

Jack fell back, draping his tail nervously between his legs.

Nightshade groaned she looked over at her mate. "How many more?" she whispered, as she pushed, another tiny kitten slipped out. Her body hurt and her face winced with pain, she let out a high pitch scream as the last kit came out. Her gaze shifted down to five kits at her side.

Kate sat back and purred, but she wasn't finished. She looked over to Night. Can you go get some borage? She asked, stepping forward and giving her mate a quick lick.

The unnamed kit shifted beside her littermates, the cold hitting her. She cried out, squirming closer to her mother.

They're...Beautiful! Jack choked, sitting down beside Nightshade. Are you gonna be okay? He fretted.

Slitthroat looked at Jack and nodded. "Lynx is sick, very sick. Seems like a start of a new illness." He meowed, his one eye shifted over to the side of the clearing where the warriors den was. Slittthroat knew Lynx moved out of the nursery and into the warriors den. "Nightshade was around her."
