Fluffy oriental form rose but she waited for the medicine cat apprentice to finish before she moved, Springpaw’s voice was like a caged bird - Melodies rising in painful notes wishing for freedom but trapped all the same… Strawberrymumble only hoped that she found solace when her announcement was over and words no longer had to be tediously spoken. Assured that springpaw’s announcement was over she padded through the clearing in search of the molly she was meant to take along room her, she had little more than a vague idea of who Mistheart was but that was neither here nor there and she would make do. The words where still knotted and deeply set like roots in her through as her powder blue hues going purchase on the feline she was looking for… the flowers began to wilt once more in her mind and the thought of speaking loomed over her like a circling vulture… she had to speak, had to force her songbird voice out of its cage deep in her core and speak, hold a conversation, make a friend… Apricot coloured form has slowly been padding towards the unknown cat, she felt like a wil-o-wisp, simply a lost soul floating unseen through the clearing, “M-mistheart…” her voice was soft and liliting, “Patrol… we… erm… we have a patrol to head out on, I am ready when you are,” the wad in her throat has finally loosened up and the words had tumbled out. Strawberrymumble shuffled her paws against the icy floor hoping that maybe the heat from the thawing ice could bloom the flowers that had once again wilted in her heart, at least she had said the words… poorly… her mind taunted at the compliment she had allowed herself. Apricot coloured oriental ears perked impatiently awaiting this felines response and her fluffy tail twitched with the nervousness of having attention set on her… not to say she did not love attention but when it was someone she did not know it always came off as contemplative and slightly vindictive… deep in her core she knew and accepted that the attention was neutral if not positive but it was always better safe than sorry… right… she thought in a bitter question she already knew the answer to, the scars raked and carved deep into her belly were the tale of trusting too much and she would do everything to never see the sequel. { @Jayvines ~ Mistheart } { @/eris :heartbounce: } ( berry is selectively mute, so her speaking will be stuttered mainly as she has to force herself to speak :) just wanted to give you context and a heads up)

~ Mistheart ~

Oh stars, there was... Well, it didn't seem like as many casualties as previous battles, but Mistheart was terribly glad they had stayed in camp. As a protection measure of course. Totally not to avoid unpleasant things, no siree.

Hearing her name called for an emergency herb patrol wasn't unexpected in the least. Hopping up to her feet and skittering over to the camp entrance with a nod towards Springpaw, the small grey molly awaited her patrolmate's appearance... Which seemed right on time! Dipping her head towards Strawberrymumble in greeting, Mistheart gave her a small crooked smile before answering.

"I'm um... ready when you are," she hummed, tail flicking nervously behind her. "I uh--I know poppy flowers pretty well if you wanna focus on the uh, webs? Only if that's ok with you."

[ Mistheart is completely ok with that! They are a pretty shy individual, so comfortable silence is their preferred state to exist in haha ]

~ Mistheart ~

Hopping back into camp on the 3 legs she had to work with while balancing her finds, the small, grey molly quickly dropped of her collected items just outside the medicine cat den before skittering over to Drizzlecloud.

"All uh... Well, I got what I could," she hummed, glancing around nervously at the camp clearing. "Not sure where Drizzlenight and um... Fuzzpaw went off to, but I put the berries and sticks I could find by the den... Lemme know if you need more of those spicy berry thingies. I found a decent bush!"

Giving the medicine cat a crooked smile, Mistheart dipped her head in farewell before giving a brief flick of her tail as she skittered back off towards the warriors den.

White paws skittered in eagerly alongside her patrolmate. They had done relatively well considering the season. Dropping of the 3 dried poppy stalks, Mistheart gave the flower remains a quick nudge to show off the rattling bulbs.

"3 poppy stems. I uh... I think the seeds should be fine--at least, they sound ok," she hummed before dipping her head towards Springpaw and skittering back to the warriors den to escape the cold.

The first patrol that came back, and yet, Springpaw was pleased by the results. The number of cobwebs that Strawberrymumble seemed to be carrying and the poppy flowers that Mistheart was holding would be enough to be suitable for her patients within the medicine den. With a smile smeared on her face, the calico nodded as she craned her head towards the medicine den. “You… both are… dismissed… please… take your… findings… to the medicine den.” It wasn’t much to ask, but Springpaw still felt pleased to know that she didn’t need to send them back out to find more.

Second patrol and Springpaw could easily say that she was just as pleased with this one’s findings as well… but she was quick to note Mudhound’s exhaustion lacing their features. A grimace was quick to form on Springpaw’s face, but she didn’t want to let it go completely noticeable, so she nodded towards Violetshine. “The… both of… you are… dismissed… please… try to rest… after… placing… your findings… inside of… the herb… storage.” Springpaw briefly glanced over towards Mudhound after explaining, angling her tail towards the narrowed entrance of the medicine den. Hopefully, the rather giddy warrior would take her words for granted. She would hate it if she had to drag them there herself.

This was… relatively interesting to see. Springpaw found herself staring down at the long moss sheet that the apprentice had been seemingly bringing back alongside Skunkstrike carrying a bundle of golden blooms in jer jaws. To be quite honest, Springpaw wasn’t expecting the young tom-cat to bring a whole moss sheet with him, knowing full well that it would bring plenty of uses for the clan itself. Nonetheless, even with her brief shock and surprise at his findings, she still felt pleased to know that they brought back the required necessities for the clan. With a flick of her tail, the calico raised her head and beamed happily at the both of them. “You… both are… dismissed… please go ahead… and put the… items… that you… collected… inside of the… medicine den… and then… you are… free to go.”

Springpaw’s eyes glanced down towards the herbs that Eaglesprit brought, her brows furrowing as she glanced back up towards the feline, giving a curt nod. “Thank you… for bringing… these herbs back... but you... better not... make the... same mistake... twice... or there... will be... consequences... you are dismissed.” She waved her tail in dismissal as she scooped up the herbs and shuffled her way back to the medicine cat den.
