Re: SkyClan Clearing
@starfall @Duststorm @RedHead He had informed the three other cats several days beforehand that they would be joining him on this risky patrol, so that they could prepare whatever they needed, inform their friends, family, make sure not to schedule a training session on that day, that sort of thing. And today was the day that they would be doing it. Grousestar didn't like it one bit, in fact, he hated it. The thought of having to steal from the Syndicate's territory, and having to hunt in the territory that was not theirs to be taking from. He was a nice tome, he believed very strongly in the warrior code. But he was a tom of the clan. He could not sit idly by and let his clan starve while there was plenty of food from the taking elsewhere.. And it was terrible to think, but.. The Dusk Syndicate was likely still weak from their defeat what a month or two ago. As much as he wanted to hate the cats that murdered his clan in cold blood, a tiny part of him still felt sympathy for their plight. But that didn't matter now and he pushed it to the back of his head. His cats were hungry and he would be the one to feed them. It would be dangerous, these cats were still vicious even if they weren't so great in numbers and could possibly be starving themselves, but he believed his warriors were stronger than them. And their earlier victory helped to bolster this idea. Shaking his head and clearing his thoughts, he waited by the entrance to the camp, hoping that his warriors remembered the time he had given them to meet him here today. If not, he would call for them on the Skyboulder. Regardless, he would wait with an endless amount of patience for them while trying to calm his conscious about the deed they were about to do. It's all for the survival and well being of the clan. |
Re: SkyClan Clearing
@Duststorm @starfall @Duskflight Casting his eyes to the sun, Marbledflare decided that it was probably about time he should go and join with Grousestar and the other cats that the leader had chosen to take on this risky mission. Honestly, Marbledflare had found the idea excellent and needed. The clan needed food. And this was probably the only way to obtain it during these hard times. And with Leaf-Fall coming up, the tom was even more worried about how much shorter the food supply would start to run. If he didn't have a family, Marbledflare probably wouldn't have fully understood the importance of getting food for the clan. But now that his eyes had been opened to how meek kits could be, and how much they had to eat to grow strong, he realized the true importance of that part of the warrior code. Marbledflare had never really stressed the warrior code. All he needed though was some paws-on experience. And he was getting that, in a way, with having five young kits to help take care of. I'd never be able to live with myself if I let them starve. So all in all, Marbledflare was of full support of this patrol, and he was excited when Grousestar had chosen him to go on the patrol. But he also knew that it could be dangerous. And that was the one regret that had held him back at first. Because, if he got badly hurt, then how would he help Irisflower care for the kits? They were a rowdy bunch, and Marbledflare cared for them deeply. As well as Irisflower. The two might not be mates, and might have a struggling relationship at the moment, but Marbledflare just hadn't been ready to settle down. He surely felt strong feelings for Irisflower, he just didn't want to act upon those feelings. He didn't think he was ready. But he hoped that the two of them would remain friends until he was ready. If that time ever came. He was just quite young. Marbledflare spotted Grousestar's tabby pelt, and he instantly walked over to him, dipping his head respectfully to the leader. He treated Grousetar as an equal, just like he did with everyone else. But every cat deserved respect. "I am ready to go when you are." He meowed, flicking his fluffy tail. Marbledflare was anxious but excited at the same time. He didn't know what to feel. All he knew was that he had to focus on the task at hand if he were to protect himself, the patrol, and Skyclan. |
Re: SkyClan Clearing
@starfall @Duskflight @RedHead Bracing against the warmth of the sun and gentle pull of brambles, Nightbreeze pushed her way through the entrance of camp, her jet black pelt incredibly discernible from the rest of camp. She had been too excited to sleep all morning and there was nothing like expending all that energy on a morning hunt. Although, to her disappointment, just as it had been said, prey had been scarce. Quite disappointing.... Turning her gaze, she offered a polite dip of her head as she passed by Grousestar, who had been sitting at the entrance for what she hoped wasn't too long, and scurried her way to the fresh kill pile. Quickly depositing a nice plump warbler on top of the pile, the molly turned tail and made her way back to the entrance, following up behind one of her clanmates, Marbledflare. "There's one more, correct?" She meowed curiously, dipping her head once more to both cats. Being chosen for the patrol had honestly shocked her. It was such an honor to be able to hunt alongside Skyclan's leader, she simply couldn't pass it up. Nervousness prickled at her pelt as she sat down between the two, her tail wrapped neatly around her paws. What happened if they encountered a Dusk Syndicate patrol? They're most likely still suffering from the fight. Hunger gnawing at her stomach, the warrior shuffled uncomfortably in her spot and glanced around for any sign of the other cat that would be accompanying them. |
Re: SkyClan Clearing
@Duskflight @RedHead @Duststorm The short ragdoll swiftly made her way to the small congregation of cats, her tail flicking behind her wildly. She was late, again, to something fairly important, which, of course, greatly emberassed her. The feline stopped beside Marbledtongue and Nightbreeze the moment the ebony feline asked her question. "Yes, yes I apologize, I...I late." she practically whispered, her ears folding to the sides of her head. Starfall wasn't great under pressure, whenever she felt eyes on her she'd trip, fall, or do whatever else that would practically completely mess up what she was doing. The feline sat herself down and wrapped her tail around her paws, her sky blue orbs flickered with unease. The white feline wasn't sure why Grousestar chose her for this mission, he had thousands of other, stronger, warriors who could ensure not only his safety, but his patrols safety as well. The warrior wasn't tall and lanky, she was short and chubby, not the fastest runner, and her eyesight wasn't the best. Maybe she would ask the leader why she wasn't chosen later, but for right now she couldn't allow her head to be muddled by negative thoughts, she had to think positively, cuz then everything would go positively. After a few seconds of spacing out the warrior turned her full attention to her leader, awaiting instructions as to what they were gozing to be doing. |
Re: SkyClan Clearing
@starfall @RedHead @Duststorm Marbledflare was the first to arrive, the leader dipping his head in greeting to his warrior and smiling lightly. "As soon as Nightbreeze and Starfall meet us here, we will be ready to go." Remaining seated, the brown tabby would give a quick glance over the ginger tom to make sure he was alright both physically, and from what he could gather, mentally. It was one thing to make sure his warriors weren't injured or pushing themselves, but it was another to make sure they were, well, alright. Truly alright, not depressed, angered, upset, stressed or anything of the sort. When he glanced over the other tom, he found a little bit of anxiousness, but placed it more on the aspect of what they were about to do rather than what was going on in his life and decided to not speak up on his finding. Shortly after Marbledflare settled in with Grousestar to wait for the other two cats, Nightbreeze came padding through the camp entrance with quite a useful catch in her jaws. "Good catch!" He mewed to her in a friendly manner as she dipped her head and scurried off to place it in the pile before joining them, the smile he had flashed at Marbledflare still on his muzzle. Nightbreeze was a good hunter and was certainly one he was eager to have on his patrol, Marbledflare a strong and resilient tom that would fair well if they did happen to run into trouble while in the foreign territory. "Indeed, now we wait for Starfall, then we should be ready." Grousestar was a patient tom and was not at all concerned with Starfall being the last to arrive, he would have waited here for hours without getting angry or impatient because he had all of the time in the world. There was still a part of him that did not want to do this. But before long a familiar rag doll came bounding up looking quite upset and embarrassed by her apparent lateness. Standing up with an easy stretch and a small yawn, he would flick his tail lightly over her ear. "No worries Starfall, we haven't been waiting too long and I'd hardly call you late. Now, are we all ready? If so, let's go ahead and get this done." With a nod to the other three cats, he would slink off into the territory, fully expecting the trio to be right behind him. |

She had chased him, trying her best to avoid other warriors. Hitting them occasionally, with her clumsiness. She squealed multiple apologies, and she tried her best to keep Beachkit in her line of vision. "Excuse me!" She mewed, almost loosing her footing to catch up to her brother. But, suddenly she had Ben caught off guard. Redkit lunged through the air, ready to tackle her brother, but she had been scooped up, and her move had been hindered. This greatly displeased Redkit. A lot of things greatly displeased her nowadays, but she held it in at the familiarity of the of the scent that wafted through her nose. "Daddy!" She squeaked, her voice half filled with joy, half filled with annoyance that he came between their game. He was holding onto them too close for her comfort. Seemingly squeezing the life out of them. "Let go!" She whined, pleadingly. But, something had to be wrong. Oh, what was wrong now? Redkit felt her ears flicked back, and she stopped fighting against her father's embrace. He was clearly...out of balance. "What's wrong?"Her voice small; inaudible. She brushed against him, her fur bristling, almost appearing spikier if that was even possible. Something was wrong...it was not something she wanted to admit. But there was something wrong. |

Cliffheart couldn't manage it. The tears as they streamed down his face, as he clutched to the last two remnants of his family. The family that he had been so worrisome in starting, afraid that it wasn't real, that she was only putting on a show of sympathy and compassion. He hadn't wanted to tie her down, thinking that she was only acting for him, thinking she would have gone behind and been unfaithful to him. He had worried that Scorchedpetal didn't actually love him. He had been so wrong though. He had never felt a truer love, a more genuine love, than what she had given him. The unconditional love and support she had poured out over him, he had never know it like that. But as soon as he asked her to be his Star, he knew he had found the best. And she was the best. He couldn't find anywhere a cat that was better, and he never would again. But then the two lovers had gone another step. They had done the main thing they could do together, and they had kits. Four lovely, beautiful, perfect kits. He had named two, and Scorchedpetal had named the other two. But as time passed on, two of them had taken a journey for the stars. Their family was left with two kits, and two grieving parents. It had been hard, especially with Beachkit in the medicine den still, to cope with it. He had seen Scorchedpetal in her deepest darkest place. Instead of her helping him, it was now the other way around. But who knew that his comforting words to help his mate's depression would be some of the last he ever spoke to her. Now he sat in the clearing, not caring about the other cats that saw him, not caring what they might think he was doing. While normally he would have, his hurt was too much for him to even take notice. He felt Redkit an Beachkit tense up at his tight grasp, and oh how he wanted to hide the truth from them. He didn't want to put this on their shoulders. He didn't want to give them that. A parent never wants to give their child heart breaking news, they never want to see their child in heart wrenching pain. But they would know at some point, and he didn't want it to come through by some other cat's words. He stuck his nose down, so that his face was pressed up against both Redkit and Beachkit's. And then he whispered those words who no cat ever wanted to hear. Those words that he knew would turn their perfect innocent lives around, the words he knew would destroy them. "It's your mother." He paused, a shaky, raspy breath seeping out his grief racked frame. "She's gone to the Stars." Now Beachkit, being a Tim was t exactly sure why his father had scooped him up and was now holding him breath sta kingly painful. It hurt, it was a choking hold, but then he could physically feel the shaking of his fathers breath and it clicked. Something wasn't right. One look at Redkit, who was being grasped right in front of him, confirmed his suspicion. Something wasn't right and a part of him, seeing his father cry, and his sisters panicked look, told him he didn't want to hear what Jews was about to come. But no matter how hard he didn't want it to come, it came. And the words that Cliffheart spoke through to them, shattered his heart. Surely he was wrong? Surely she was ok. Maybe she was just sleeping. Maybe she was just ill and would come back to see them as they went to sleep. Now it wasn't processing that Scorchedoteal was indeed dead. He couldn't bear it. The tears welled in his eyes, and they ran down his face. Slowly he broke down. First came the tears, next came the heaving breaths, it was harder to breathe as realization crept over him. Then came the wheezing and the coughing. As he buried his face deep into his father, he coughed he was breathing so irregularly. He didn't want it to be true, and he pushed it away. Though no matter how hard he tried, the tears came back. He cried some more, couched some more, and wheezed some more. It was an ugly cry. But he didn't care in the least. He just sat in his only parent's embrace and cried his heart out. Literally, it seemed it was in so many pieces it had just left him completely. He couldn't handle this. Why had he told them that she was gone? Why didn't he wait? But he knew. He would rather it come out now than later. But his only problem was, he still didn't know that Scorchedpetal wasn't the only thing his family had lost . |
