She is a natural climber." He purred," I've just started teaching her defense, and she's struggling, saying why not just make a truce between all the clans, and the syndicate, and I have to explain to her, that I am not clan leader or deputy, and that the Syndicate would back out on it, the other clans might announce they are breaking it at times, and we need to be able to defend ourselves against, foxes, badgers, and other dangers, such as the Dark Forest." His spine shivered rememebering the battle against the Dark Forest," Bubblebreeze and Geckospine were much more distracted than her, but had less questions, each apprentice is different. For example, Bubblebreeze was bubbly, and always full of energy, and never wanted to go to sleep, and was up waking me up in time for dawn patrol every day, while Geckospine was shy and quite, and also lazy and a late sleeper. Then there's Kestrelpaw she's full of questions, she has a normal amount of energy, and likes to sleep in some, but not excessively." He meowed.

Nighthowl watched the other tom with his attentive gaze. His tail flicked back and forth in a rhythmic pattern and slowly circled a paw in the dry dirt. She sounded like a good apprentice to him: attentive and skillful, but she also seemed a little bright. Making friends with the other clans? With the Dusk Syndicate?! that was one of the most mouse-brained ideas he had ever heard. Nighthowl gave a small snort.
"Well, she seems pretty good for an apprentice." He meowed grudgingly, staring across the clearing, lost in though. Willowpetal reminded him of the lively apprentice. Or atleast, Cucumberprickle made it seem that way. His tail flicked once as he looked back at the SkyClan tom cat.
"So," he meowed, drawing a paw over his black ear. "You had two apprentices already?"

Cucumberpickle flicked his cream tail to the side of him his green eye focused on Nighthowl as he relpied," Yeah, its mouse brained, she thinks she'll convince the Syndicate to become a clan under the name of Duskclan. And yeah, I've had two previous apprentices." (sorry so short writers block)

((No problem, that happens all the time to me))
Nighthowl finished grooming and let out a sigh. Sometimes he wished he could have an apprentice of his own, but he was sure that it wouldn't go over well. If the cat was nice, he would worry about crushing it's spirit, and if he or she was wild and obnoxious, they would spend their life as an apprentice that cleaned the elders den so much they got tired of having them there.

Nighthowl flicked his ears, unsure of how to keep the conversation going. He was never a good socialist, and preferred to do something rather than talk. He always felt pressured to say something interesting and that made him feel like the awkwardness he really was instead of the prickliness that hid him.

Cucumberpickle nodded," Don't worry, I'm sure you'll receive an apprentice eventually." He meowed as he gave a stretch feeling good and enjoying the conversation.

Nighthowl gave a moody shrug. That is highly unlikely. The old tom cat thought as he drew one sharp claw through the dirt. He speared a small green leaf on the claw and watched as liquid seeped from the puncture. He would never get an apprentice, but it was probably for the better. SkyClan needed good, wise warriors to teach new ones, and he may be strong, but he certainly wasn't wise. He ought to do something, instead of gossiping around like an old queen, but he wasn't sure what. Maybe he would patrol or something helpful like that later.

Cucumberpickle was starting to get weirded out by the awkward silence so he waited meowing one sentence,"Don't worry I can wait for you to collect your thoughts."

Deviousblaze winced, the fur around the large spike quivering. It wasn't a lot of pain, but he knew enough to see the medicine cat. While he didn't want to put his eyes through the pain of seeing him again, he didn't want it to get infected. Plus, the tom already had enough scars from ripping the thorns out on his own- why make one more when you don't have to?
As he limped into the SkyClan clearing, he called, "Shinefang!"

Shinefang finished gobbling up his last few bites of freshkill, he perked up his ears at the sound of a cat calling his name, and licked his mouth clean. "What now?" he grumbled, stepping out into the clearing again. When he saw Devious, his eyes narrowed. "Ah, it's the kit-witted warrior again," he remarked snidely. Then he noticed that the cat was standing on one paw. "Oh what did you go and do?" he asked with a sigh, shuffling up to the warrior and taking the favored paw in his own as he looked it over.

Re: SkyClan Clearing

Soft wisps of air made way for even softer tendrils of hair, as Vulturepaw succumbed to the warmth outside of the apprentices' den. Her ears pricked forwards, whilst brows furrowed at the vibrant contrast from the dark, mundane den, to the sun-lit clearing of Skyclan. Tinted green pools glittered as the hues reflected off of them, with ebony pupils growing in size; trying to take in the amount of movements and actions that were going on inside of the camp.

Vulturepaw exhaled through her parted lips, letting the heavy air seep through her moist palette. She then pushed her chest out once more and took a deep breath in, allowing for her lungs to be replenished of the air that they so desperately needed. That in itself was like pressing the reset button for her. She was now prepared and ready for the day ahead of her. Her muscles were no longer as tense as her pre-woken self, and the small nagging pain at her shoulders had been forgotten.

Silvery whiskers bounced about as the thick-furred molly began to ambulate forwards. Her banner curled at the tip and paws grasping at the loose terrain below. Her lips had already twisted upwards into a smile, and her eyes mirrored the same effect. She wasn't an overly excitable or extroverted character, however she would always smile; hoping that it could at least make one feline's day.

Sorry again for the late reply. I recently returned from the beach :3
~~~
The black tom watched the medicine cat through gritted teeth, wanting oh-so-badly to claw that smirk off his scarred maw. "I just stepped on a thorn. It's nothing new, especially not in how long you've lived." It was a challenge that Deviousblaze would live up to, should Shinefang accept it. "Put some ointment on it or something."
(No prob! Did you have fun?)
Surprisingly, Shinefang let out a croaky laugh at the warriors comment on his age. "Put some... ointment on it or something?" The old cat repeated slowly. "How about I get the thorn out first, kit-wit." Shinefang began licking the warrior's pad, trying to worry the thorn out enough to extract. Though he was focused on his work, the old cat was laughing on the inside. He loved a battle with sharp tongues as much as sharp claws. Within a minute, the thorn was out enough. "This might hurt," he warned an instant before pulling it out with his teeth. The tom dropped the thorn just inside his den entrance and off to the side, briefly searched his herb stores, snagged a dock leaf and returned. He ripped the leaf open with his teeth to get the juices flowing. "Hold out you paw. This is going to hurt more." Shinefang began applying the herb, and realizing the discomfort it would cause, decided to distract the cat with some small talk. "So how long have you been in Skyclan? Your scent doesn't quite fit yet, so not long I'm sure."
