Duskfern looked at the determined apprentice. She reminded her of her own time as an apprentice. You did anything to become a warrior. She smiled at this thought.
“Come on, now!”

(Sorry for the late reply!)

Webpaw stood up. She was determind to get this right. She ran at her and leapt with her front paws out, attempting to knock her over. She paused for a second, thinking of another move. She didn't know a lot from living in the wild. Wanting to catch up to the others as soon as possible, she then tried to paw at her back and pin her down.

Nightshadow padded out of camp and to the training cliffs, with Snakepaw, for some battle training with him. Once they got to the training cliffs she stopped and turned around at him. "Ok, Snakepaw. I'm going to teach you how to do the Leap-and-hold battle move. First I'll show you then you can do it. Got it?"

Duskfern watched as the apprentice hesitated. She saw Webpaw’s eyes drift behind her. As she sprang, the small cat managed to simply touch her, but then fell off.
”Don’t think I’ll be going easy on you!” she purred. ”If you wanna be in ShadowClan, you have to toughen up.”
She licked her fur for a quick moment to brush off some dust, then looked down at Webpaw again.

"Ok." Nightshadow said getting into position. "Listen to what I say and watch what I do." she paused. "I should've brought another warrior with to help," she mumbled to herself. "This is for smaller cats to do to bigger cats, like apprentices to warriors. Spring onto your opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed." Nightshadow meowed while showing Snakepaw how to do this. Since she didn't have another warrior she just did it to a low hanging branch on a tree. "Most apprentices don't do this until later in training but I'm showing it to you now because I think you can handle it. You can do it to me instead of a tree branch. Now, show me and if you need help just ask," she meowed.

(My goodness, your right, he is always depressed! Lol.)

He tried, and didn't do it correctly "Ah, guess that's why they show it later in the training." He tried again, and did it a bit better. @Mia

Nightshadow watched Snakepaw do the battle move and he messed up then she watched him again and he did a bit better. She could feel his weight and paws on her but she didn't know what he was doing wrong. Nightshadow thought Snakepaw could do it but she knew he was right. "You'll get it soon enough," she meowed, while playing the battle move again in her head. Her amber eyes lit up, she knew what he could do. "Try this. When you land on your opponents back unsheathe you claws and sink them into their shoulders. That should help when you land on their back, so they can't or shouldn't do anything because of their pain. When you sink your claws into their shoulders they won't be able to move forward because they need their shoulder blades to move. But your opponent will be able to fall on their back and squish you so get out of the way when they do that move. I know this isn't supposed to happen during battle training but I want you to unsheathe you claws into my shoulders a tiny bit, not much." She caught her breathe before continuing. "Do it again but with claws unsheathed into my shoulders when you get on my back."

Nightshadow felt his paws unsheathe into her shoulders. He did it, he finished the battle move, she thought excitedly. But not as excitedly as Snakepaw, she could feel his excitement come off of him in waves, but faded a little. "Good job, Snakepaw. You did it perfectly," she meowed. "Now can you please sheath your claws and get off of me?" she meowed, nicely but firmly, through gritted teeth. She could feel his claws unsheathing more into her shoulders.

(If it's a little controlling at the end, tell me then don't listen to what I said at the small part at the end.)
