@Goldkit
Buzzardkit hissed at his brother in surprise and frustration, standing up to wander over to where Rabbitpaw was standing. He was curious about this little game. "I do," he said, looking at the medicine cat apprentice with curiosity, but not too much enthusiasm. |

Buzzardkit shook out his fur. He looked at Rabbitpaw. "I'll be fine, right? It's just a few scratches. I'm sure he's seen worse in his time healing the Clan, mom. Besides," he said, his voice a calm mask to hide the pain. Real warriors didn't show their pain, and he was going to be the best-, "Rabbitpaw is an excellent medicine cat apprentice. I'm confident enough that everything will be fine." |

Power Card: Cold Gust It wasnt hard work to keep stripping of bits of pheasant for the kittens to eat (occasionally snagging a bite for himself of course), stripping the downy feathers and adding them to the nearby nest for bedding to leave bare patches for them to gnaw on. Crowtooth remembered a lotta gnawing on rabbits too big for him as a kit starting to eat prey, the queens mostly tore it apart to hand over smaller edible chunks but it was good practice for handling things solo later in life. Stars werent birds great. Soft warm down for bedding, larger flight and tail feathers for play and some of the best meat ever. Yes yes Crowtooth knew he was a heretic for being windclan and not thinking rabbit was the best but he wasnt WRONG. "Well kiddo pheasants are pretty big sure but they aint the biggest. Turkeys are basically bigger an' fatter pheasants (bigger then me, aint that somethin') an' theyre bad at flyin' like pheasants too. Most birds fly fer a livin' but fer some reason pheasants an' turkeys nah. As fer flyin' birds only the dangerous raptors are bigger then pheasants. Crows ravens an' some water fowl are about the size o' a pheasant but owls hawks vultures an' eagles can get even larger. Always run an' hide under shelter if ya see those kids, only the most trained warriors can handle them, though maybe ya'll grow ta do it given yer mother got her name fer killin' a hawk." They would find themselves grounded to the camp if Crowtooths niblings tried to take down a raptor before warrior at least however. Too dangerous, not allowed their poor uncle will kill them THEN have a heart attack and DIE. He'd lecture them on that topic more if they didnt seem scared enough of the dangers of predatory raptors for sure, a 'climbing the galewood seems like fun' situation was not to be repeated. For now though he was set on encouraging a delightful turn of events. "I agree wit' yer sister, ya'd be a great tunneler Gracklepaw an' if ya wanna just learn as an extra skill Im happy ta teach ya myself when yer an apprentice. Anyone is allowed ta learn the basics, though most find it too time consumin' ta learn everythin' if theyre not interested. If ya wanna become a full an' proper tunneler though yer uncle is gonna 'ave ta fight Dustbunny an' Vinesmoke ta make sure I get ta be yer mentor! Though I wish I could just snap up ya both!" The tom wiggled his paw pads at the kits bellies, aiming for the ticklish bits and hoping to set them to squealing with laughter. He did truely wish to take all his niblings as apprentices but with so few tunnelers being on offer he was kind of doomed to only really get the tunneling apprentices or 'special cases'. Not that he disliked any of his past apprentices. Rabbitpaw was borderline his kid (needed to introduce him to the niblings), Lichenshock was a good friend and Swiftleap had been no trouble at all. Still if it took bribing these kids he would, he'd get at least one of them to steal away thank you very much. @squidz @phoenix |

(OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!) ~ EVENINGKIT OF WINDCLAN ~ SHE-KIT | AFAB | SHE/HER | 2 MOONS | PURRKS: LYREBIRD'S LULLABY, HEIGHTENED PERCEPTION (HEARING), AND FLOCK TOGETHER (TIER 1) Black, dark blue-gray, and orange classic torbie with blue and amber eyes. Click here for her album! The thrum of rain on hard-packed earth drew Eveningkit out of her slumber. Two eyes - one the deep blue of a darkening sky, the other bright amber like a sinking sun - flashed as they greeted the gloom. She let out a sleepy mew and cuddled deeper into her mossy nest. It was cozy in the nursery. The moss was soft and warm, and the scents of milk and fur never failed to soothe her. There was another scent in the air - earthy and wet. It's raining, Eveningkit thought. She peered out from her nest and saw a light gray drizzle falling from the sky. Wet. Ew. Soggy fur was never cozy. At least rain sounded nice. Eveningkit enjoyed the patter of light rain. However, she hated when it poured from the sky in great droves, rumbling and screeching like it was very angry. It hurt her ears, and it was scary. Eveningkit lifted her head and gazed around the nursery. Plenty of queens and kits were inside. Their gentle breathing was relaxing, but a few of them snored, which made her cringe. She hated the sound of snoring. They don't like to get wet, either, she noted. There were a lot of cats, many of whom shared nests. Eveningkit wondered what it was like to always have someone cuddled up next to her. I don't have a Mama or a Papa or any littermates. She wasn't sure what had happened to them. She just knew that they weren't there. The other queens had made her feel loved - they fed her milk before she could eat prey and played with her sometimes - and most of the other kits were nice, too. But Eveningkit rarely shared a nest with anyone. On one paw, she liked how much space she had. But on the other... she liked how warm and comfy other cats were. And whenever she woke up from one of her strange nightmares, filled with bitter-tasting air and a horrible growling, she preferred having someone to burrow into, not just moss. I'm not the only one who sleeps alone, she thought. Plenty of other kits didn't have queens to look after them. Did they lose their Mamas and Papas, too? Where did all those parents go? It didn't make much sense. Eveningkit frowned for a moment; then she shook away the thought. She was curious, of course, but she didn't want to dwell on it right now. I wanna play a game! She hopped out of her nest and stretched. Her black and dark blue markings blended into the nursery's shadows, and the gray light pouring in from the nursery entrance diluted her orange splotches. Once she was done stretching, the she-kit struggled out of her too-big nest and looked around. She took a moment to adjust the red-and-white flower she'd secured behind her ear before speaking. "I wanna play a game!" she declared. "Who wants to play, too?" |
