Re: Cattail Pond
@Beau @Zero @Slushie @Dawneye @RedHead Pinepuff was able to relax a bit as Honeybear and even Cherrybubble came over. Nightpaw and Valleykit would be looked after, even if they thought they'd be find on their own. She just, couldn't leave them alone... Her green eyes landed on Honeybear, a grateful look in the depths. "Thank you dear." Pinepuff thanked the molly, dipping her head to the WindClan tom as he came over to offer food to the young cats. He seemed like a nice guy but Pinepuff wasn't going to think on that. Finally her head turned to Cherrybubble a soft smile. "Darling, I've got to take Gladekit to a medicine cat... please just take care of yourself." The large fluffy charred tabby meowed softly. The bi colored warrior needed to take care of herself and Pinepuff would have loved to stop and stay with all of them, help out but Gladekit had to get help. With a last glance at her loved ones she took the hurting kit in her mouth and left. Her pace was a bit rushed but she had to keep it slower then a run due to her own injuries and to not hurt Gladekit more. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Lionstar hadn't planned on making more than three dens-- it seemed practical when this wasn't meant to be a permanent camp for ThunderClan: merely a place of refuge while they healed and prepared for their return back home.
Since Duskstar [ @hxneysuckle] was being useless-- expectedly, Lionstar decided to use the only other ThunderClanner volunteering to help. "Sure you can," he said to Thunderchaser [ @~FoxesFire~]. "Go around and collect any building materials you can.. moss, reeds, feathers. Anything to make this feel a little more homely." As Fleetwind [ @gs29513] approached him, Lionstar quirked a brow at the ThunderClan cat. "Go for it.. like I told your Clan-mate, everything helps. The thicket over there is a good source for moss and sticks, the reeds around here can be woven into den walls. Feathers can be found practically anywhere if you keep your eye out.. and if there's anything else you need, let me know." He was seriously considering just taking the strings completely from here. It'd be so easy with how little Duskstar and her absentee deputy were involved in this. "Duskstar," he growled at her since she hadn't helped the WindClanner and now patrols had been distributed to do the work for her, "why don't you get some volunteers from your Clan-mates to go hunting and check out the damage to ThunderClan territory? I can't imagine everyone's had their fill of food, and those who haven't been badly wounded and aren't currently working.." which only two seemed to be, "can be put to some use." [ @hxneysuckle ] |

Gotcha lion-star! ~Thunder-chaser walked off to find as much stuff as she could~@BILL.

Re: Cattail Pond
Nodding his head to Lionstar, Fleetwind bounded off into the thicket. After finding the right kind of tree, he began to slice of swathes of moss, rolling them into balls. Once he had two fairly large ones, he grasped one in his mouth and tucked one under his chin. Padding back to the construction, he dropped the moss, and headed back to look for feathers. After a bit of searching, he found what looked like a pile of them, presumably from a hawk or some other birds kill. Grasping a mouthful, he headed back to his moss balls, trying his hardest not to sneeze his head off.

I'll make some dens as well. *SilverScar said as he limped away to find materials*

Re: Cattail Pond
The fiery apprentice grinned back at the golden leader. Placing the reeds near the low pile Sunpaw slowly unloaded his packs of reeds. He remained silent and observed until Lionstar addressed him, "No Sir but it can't be that hard." He got some of an idea of how to weave the reeds together after watching his leader for a few more minutes. It was tedious in the beginning but by the end, Sunpaw was working like a well-oiled machine. Once finished Sunpaw's forelimbs ached from the hard work. "I am done. What is next?" Perking ears and eyes trained on Lionstar. @BILL. |

Re: Cattail Pond
[ @BILL. ] The calico snapped back to reality, blinking her hazel eye with Lionstar's growl. She had managed to lose herself in her thoughts again, gaze becoming blank. Once at attention again, Duskstar turned to Lionstar again and frowned. She hadn't heard what he said, her ears ringing loudly and head screaming at her. "Sorry- Sorry..." she flattened her uninjured ear, "it's... difficult to focus with all this." Duskstar pointed to the melted side of her face. She flicked her tail and sighed, not waiting for a response before she stepped forward and raised her head. "All ThunderClan cats, as well as others interested, who are not currently busy with building, collecting materials, or greatly injured, please step forward!" she called, hoping her raspy voice could be heard. The calico waited a moment before "I need two patrols to be formed. One patrol will head out to hunt, please try to bring back as much prey as you can, the Clan needs energy and food in their bellies. The second patrol will head back to the ThunderClan camp in order to assess the damage that has been done. Be extremely cautious-- we don't know what danger may still be at large. Both patrols will return and report to me immediately. I need to know what our next step will be for the camp-- we can't stay in RiverClan forever." With the instructions given, Duskstar swallowed. It was a hassle to try to talk clearly... she would need a nice, long drink after this. "And if any of you see Softbriar... please send them to me. I haven't seen them since before the fire." Her tail lashed and she nodded her head, signalling for the two patrols to head out whenever they were ready. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Dogpaw perked folded ears to the sound of Duskstars voice. This whole situation was chaos but who could blame them? being kicked out of your home, having half your face melted off and loosing too many lives to count for.... It was all a lot. Nobody was to blame, maybe Starclan was? Now was not the time to have s crisis over religion.
Dogpaw stood up, stepping forwards with a long sigh, "I'll head off to the camp!" She called out, dull green eyes searching the space they had dubbed as temporary camp, "RAINWHISKER! Come with us!" she howled out, hoping to grab the attention of her mentor. Even if he wasn't there it was worth a try. @implimm @hxneysuckle |

Re: Cattail Pond
[ @Sparkling Flower @Rainquail ]
A quiet purr rumbled in Rushingmoor’s chest as the queen appeared to be quite grateful for the prey. He nudged the rabbit closer to her and offered a polite smile, hoping she was alright. He wasn’t usually one to like kits but recently his emotions had been going haywire and he found himself more worried about the weaker members of the clans; sure he’d brought in food and protected the camp as a warrior should but he’d never really bothered to put in extra effort. For some reason, and he shook his head as he thought of who it might be, he was starting to care more. “Is there anything else I can get for you? Some water- I can bring over some moss from the pond- maybe I can find your medicine cat for a check in? I believe I saw him around here somewhere.” Rushingmoor didn’t want the pregnant she-cat to have to move too much land he was prepared to do anything she asked. She’d been through a lot, as all of Thunderclan had, but it must have been especially taxing on her. As the kit popped up, Rushingmoor chuckled and bent down to talk to him. “Hey there, kid. My name is Rushingmoor and I’m from Windclan. We are here to help but we’re stretched a little thin so we are recruiting the most fearsome of cats to help us out. Since you want to help, I need you to stay right here and take care of... sorry, I don’t know your name. Can you do that?” Ugh he was turning into a dad! |
Re: Cattail Pond
"I'm Bloomkit!" He announced proudly and puffed his chest.
"And this is Deerpetal! She's one of the queens! I can sure stay and protect her if you need, Rushingmoor, sir!" The brown tabby wiggled in place from his spot beside Deerpetal. He was gonna get to help! Yeah! @Sparkling Flower @Beau Breezehen blindly used a paw to find her way to.... a crowd of cats. There was one in particular she needed, but she couldn't find him. Grrr.... "Lionstar? The name Cattail Pond- that does mean there is water here? Is it shallow enough that cats with burns can lay in it for relief of the pain?" Not only did she want to dunk her entire face until either she drowned or was magically healed- it would be good for everyone to clean up anything that could have gotten on the burns. Moonmallow approached Lionstar, tail low and ears folded. She felt defeated by the situation. "I am not as injured as most of my clanmates- and I want to help. I have noticed cats going to hunt and collect supplies for dens, which needs more cats? I can head out where it's needed." @BILL. (you can treat Moon and Breeze as interactions that happened separately or together, whichever you prefer) |
Re: Cattail Pond
[[ I'm pulling Lion out of this plot once the temp MCD rp wraps up jsyk. Contact @hxneysuckle for future leader instructions! ]]
As he was about to return to the newly erected medicine cat den with a bundle of moss and some feathers, he was paused by two cats approaching him. Lionstar was mildly entertained by the pond question, at least. "Yes.." was this cat blind? It was hard to tell sometimes. "I would stay by the shallower side just in case, but head to your right and you should feel the water at your paws." To the other one, he beckoned his tail toward where Duskstar was calling her meeting. "Go talk to her. It sounds like she's trying to arrange patrols." Whatever her details were, he honestly didn't care at this point. He was tired of trying to help and wanted to go back to his camp and clean up the mess that was hia paws. He was just.. done. With a small but thin smile at Moonmallow, he turned to head into the den with his supplies. [ @Rainquail ] |
Re: Cattail Pond
(Cool, cool. I'll keep an eye out on that thread. Thanks for letting me know)
"Thank you. Sorry about the . . . dumb question." She resisted the urge to itch or pick at the cobwebs on her face. Less exposure, the better, right? Eh. She turned and started feeling her way to her right as instructed until her paws dipped into the water. She hadn't realized just how much of her had burned, having mostly felt the damage to her face, and adrenaline keeping her going. She'd have to see about getting some of the others over here- and possibly a guide since Ivorypaw disappeared. Moonmallow dipped her head as Lionstar left and padded over the Duskstar, where she seemed to be calling patrols. @BILL. |
Re: Cattail Pond
Dogpaw rolled her eyes when she couldn't see or hear any other cats stepping up to go check camp. What a load of pathetic warriors! Camp or no camp, the world doesnt stop moving.
"I NEED CATS TO SEARCH THE OLD CAMP WITH ME!" she yowled out, the molly letting the fur of her chest puff up. She needed to look tough, in charge! The adults were busy with more serious topics than safety checks. (Open for a patrol! This needs to be fast moving and quick, possibly finished up today! Slots for this small search party will be closed within two hours.) |

Once back at the pond, Dogpaw didn't want to muck about like some kit with a moss ball. She shifted through the flustered, disgruntled cats until she saw that gnarly burnt face. "The camp," she exhaled, taking a moment to breathe, "burnt to a crisp... along with any of the bodies remaining there. The territory is fine, I feel we mightve overstayed or welcome here... Best if we moved back to somewhere far from camp?" It was hardly her place to make suggestions but right now it wasn't exactly going to hurt. @hxneysuckle |
Re: Cattail Pond
@StealthWarrior
"Welcome to the Cattail Pond, Stealthpaw. Before you jump in I'll teach you how to catch fish. Watch me." Reedwhisker crouched by the pond in demonstration. "Unlike the hunting position for voles, you have to lean back on your haunches so that you're shadow doesn't fall on the water and you're ready to react quickly. Try that first." |
Re: Cattail Pond
Stealthpaw looked at Reedwhisker's demonstration and attempted to mirror it. "Like this?" she asked because the position felt a little weird @esa
|
Re: Cattail Pond
That was quick. Duskstar's hazel gaze settled on Dogpaw and Blizzardpaw [ @Romulus; @Hello~There ] and she listened as closely as she could to the report. It was surprising that two apprentices had gone out alone, but she couldn't find it in herself to be anything more than grateful. Dogpaw seemed to be mature enough to handle things herself. ThunderClan needed a cat like that. Taking a moment to think, she hummed quietly to herself. "Thank you for the report. Once more of the Clan has settled down, it will be good to scout the areas around the territory to find somewhere for a new camp. I may know a place... but I'm not in the mindset to go out right now. Go help out however you can, both of you. I appreciate your willingness to go back to the destruction despite the danger. Duskstar paused for a moment. "... say, you didn't happen to see Softbriar [ @Socks ] out there, did you? There's still no sign of them." She really needed to have a chat with them. The longer they didn't show their face, the more a small spark of irritation bubbled within her. Where the hell were they and why weren't they helping? Whilst stuck in her thoughts, her attention drifted toward where Buckbranch stood. He had been doing far more than her deputy had. Duskstar's tail flicked. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all... She came back to focus on the other cats in front of her. "Anyone who is willing, please build a patrol and head out to hunt. The Clan needs fed. Arrange yourselves however you wish-- just remain careful and bring back as much prey as you can. Try to hunt on ThunderClan territory, we've already stolen enough from RiverClan at this point." With that done, Duskstar flicked her tail and looked around the clearing. WindClanners were still here-- good. She perked her ear and padded over to where Twilightstar [ @Moonraven ] stood with Buckbranch [ @Slushie ], giving a thin smile as greeting. Moving was still a bit difficult as she couldn't see out of her one eye, but she managed to make her way to them without any mishaps. "Twilightstar, thank you for coming to help. I speak for all of ThunderClan when I say that it is appreciated. Hopefully we may repay you in the future," she stated, (shakily) dipping her head to the other leader. She would have shown her gratitude to Lionstar, but... he had disappeared and she didn't wish to get growled at any more. Once she had spoken to Twilightstar, she turned to Buckbranch. "I must also thank you. You- You have proven me wrong and shown that you are loyal to your Clan. I- I apologize for how I treated you before." It was awkward, with her shuffling her paws and giving a shaky smile, but it was the best she could do. Awkwardly, Duskstar reached out and patted him on the shoulder with her paw, genuine gratefulness in her gaze. She then sat down, needing to get some weight off her paws before she toppled over. Oh boy, there's the dizziness again. Lovely. |
Re: Cattail Pond
@StealthWarrior
"Yup well done! Now you have to keep your muscles tense and you have to be alert." Reedwhisker added, ever the perfectionist. "Keeping focus is the key of this part." |
Re: Cattail Pond
The apprentice bowed his head then padded away. "That went surprisingly well, I though we'd get scolded for that. Say, where do you think Duskstar had in mind for the new camp?" He mewed turning to Dogpaw.
@Romulus |
Re: Cattail Pond
"Alright!" Stealthpaw was ready to catch some fish. She shifted into position, focused, and stared at the water, waiting for some fishes to swim by.
@esa |
Re: Cattail Pond
Sunlight reflected off the calm water as the waves splashed at Reedwhisker's paws. A glint of green and silver announced the presence of an unknowing perch approached the shallow sides. Quick as lightning, Reedwhiskers paws scooped it out of the water straight into his jaws. He clamped his teeth hard on the fish until it stopped flapping and spraying water everywhere. He dropped it by his side.
"Now you give it a go. Use your claws because the fish are slippery and remember to wait until it's near enough otherwise you'll end up falling into the pond." |
Re: Cattail Pond
Dogpaw furrowed her round cream brows in confusion. Oh crap, was that the deputy? They hadn't seen anyone... alive at least. "Softsmoke more like because the only cats we saw were charred to a crisp. Might want to think about a new deputy, you know. The last ones no doubt another pile of unidentifiable ash..." Dogpaw scoffed, taking a moment to really look at the scarring of he leaders face. Ew....
@hxneysuckle ----- She trotted off to the other apprentice, a small tilt to her head at others question. "Well when she met my mum, Duskstar was off on an adventure... as Hound had described it," she meowed, grooming the charcoal from her paws, "I'd assume it was somewhere she discovered on her travels." @Hello~There |
Re: Cattail Pond
Maybe Lionstar sat on a hedgehog this morning? He seemed to be in a terrible mood today, not that she could be upset with him. Duskstar was horribly disoriented from the looks, one of the reasons Twilightstar so strongly dislikes being a leader was because they don't get cut slack for anything. It was rough, but one sort of learns to deal with it. Buckbranch's silly little dream was charming to her, Twilightstar, as much of a hassle as it was, did like the idea of family. Something to tether others together when everything was falling apart. She had her own plans to acquire a family of her own, outside her mother and a certain Parasite, but only after she got used to this leader role she despised so much. "That's a nice dream, now with Icekit you can start to make it a reality." Twilighstar mewed gently, eyes back to the curious-looking kit. The leader doubted she'd be a warrior anytime soon and if she did she'd have to really work for it. The lilac feline could see hardships and struggles for the deaf, but with some like Buckbranch around, Icekit future was already looking up. Twilightstar gaze bleeds with concern as the tom started a coughing fit, he sounded terrible by the end of it. "Try some water once you get your breath back." She suggested, she was assuming he inhaled a lot of smoke, Twilightstar didn't have the knowledge to know how to fix a problem like that, but if he took care of himself she hoped his lungs would clear. She looked to Duskstar as the molly came over and thanked her. Even though she hadn't been all that delighted to come here to start with, Twilightstar was glad Coyotesnarl had suggested checking on them. "Your welcome," she nodded back, the same concern she held for Buckbranch shined just as brightly for Duskstar in her green gaze. "WindClan is more than happy to help." Twilightstar didn't need any repayment, but if made Duskstar more at ease with helping them somehow in the future, Twilightstar wasn't going to say no to it. Her whiskers twitch just a little hearing the small apology from Duskstar to her warrior. Was he looked down on in his clan? She decided not to muse on that it wasn't any of her business. "You can rest and give orders at the same time," Twilightstar suggested, noticing how off-balance the she-cat appeared, "Did you visit a medicine cat?" If she fainted or collapsed from stress or excursion, that wouldn't be troublesome... for Twilightstar. Yelling at cats to do stuff didn't usually require too much movement. Plus some of Duskstar clanmates had brains right? They should know how to set up a camp? Twilightstar would need to get back her clan before dark, but she guessed she could leave some of her cats here if they needed the extra paws. She didn't see any RiverClan cats around to help... then again all the scents kind of mingled together so she couldn't rely on her nose to tell her who was in who's clan. "If need the extra paws I'd don't mind leaving some of my cats with you at least to help you set up a camp." She offered Duskstar after the other leader sat down. She had no gauge on how far Duskstar's pride ran, it was often tricky offering help when it came to that. She heard one of the cats saying something about the Soft cat everyone was wondering about. If they had burned as the apprentice said, Duskstar probably did really needed the extra paws. @Slushie @hxneysuckle @kieryn |
Re: Cattail Pond
The Tabby flicked his ears as he looked up from the Warrior he had just handed food to, quirking a brow. Why in the world were they already getting scolded they just got here...and why had Rushingmoor introduced themselves...again, had Twilightstar not already done that? Either way the toms mood turned a tad bit sour. He could only move so fast! So with a huff he picked himself up, dipped his head to the Thunderclanner, and made his way over to Skunkblaze. "erm. What do you need me to do?" he asked the warrior, pressing his pads into the ground. They stung a little bit, but it wasn't anything abnormal. I've never actually built a den before, so maybe, do you want me to go get the materials? Or would you rather me erm...well support it? If that makes sense uh." Honeypaw began to blabber on. @Beau @gs29513 |
Re: Cattail Pond
If you could support it from the inside while I finish the reeds, that would be great. Skunkblaze mewed, happy one of her clanmates could help her out. Once it's stable, we can cover the sides in moss or something, and make nests. @Starfall

Re: Cattail Pond
[ @gs29513 @Cobralily @Estelle @Starfall ]
No one else seemed to be in dire need of food at the moment and he trusted Thunderclan to be able to carry themselves over to the makeshift prey pile. Now, it was time to check on the den building. Rushingmoor trotted over time Skunkblaze’s group first, scooping up a ball of moss that rested nearby on his way. Dropping the mossball near the other Windclanners, Rushingmoor inspected the process and asked, “How’s it coming? Looks pretty good so far!” He knew that making two dens could be seen as unnecessary, but the way the Rushingmoor saw it, building two smaller dens equaled the amount of work as one extremely large den and could be done in half the time. The Thunderclanners would be less squished but they’d also have shelter within much less time than if he’d set a team to building one den large enough to fit them all. It appeared that there were only a few more steps to complete before it would be time to make nests but he didn’t want to waste stron Windclan cats on such a simple task. An idea began to form in his mind but he waited until Skunkblaze or one of the others spoke before rushing off to start it. |

Re: Cattail Pond
Aah, had so much time already passed? She must've taken to long on trying to find anyone who was willing to take the prey-- goodness, she better hurry! Giving a quick goodbye to the kitten she had given the bunny to, Hailpaw quickly made her way over to Skunkblaze just as Rushingmore finished speaking "apologies for my tardiness Rushingmore, Skunkblaze" it felt sort of weird, perhaps, apologizing to the second, specifically seen how the patrol had gone when they both were on it-- But they were here to help out, and it seemed to be going fine until now, so there wasn't really anything to feel weird for, was there? So oh well, "I took a little long in giving the prey i brought to a kitten" and checking in on it, for that matter.
But that aside, she should probably start getting to work before trouble arose "what can i do?" She knew that she likely should've mentioned that she had never build a den before, though then again, it maybe was a little obvious? There just didn't seem to have been many cases needing the building of a den, aside from the current one that is. But she could always gather materials, if anything. As long as she wasn't useless. @gs29513 @Beau |
Re: Cattail Pond
Hawkmist sat down, his mind rushing with thoughts, the river seemingly following him. It’s been some time... and they weren’t going home anytime soon. His narrow amber eyes passed over the cats around him, tired, exhausted. It was better to just sit down, think about something... something good. Don’t think about the river. You’ve both lost and killed at the river, Hawky. But don’t worry, they’ll find out... Get out of my head!! The black tom grumbled and looked down, now hating himself inside. Yes, he did those things... but that was in the past. Can’t think about... everyone. Hawkmist looked around, looking for another ThunderClan cat, preferably one who would make him feel better. |

(Sorry for a very late reply) Valleykit watched with a panicked gaze as Pinepuff padded off to find help for Gladekit, but bit her tongue to keep from calling for them back - knowing Gladekit needed some medical attention for the angry scratch on her face. Instead, she looked around at the cats around her warily, not super familiar with any of them, but trusting her mother's judgment. Following them to the WindClan tom, she straightened up a bit as Rushingmoor faced her, trying to look like her usual self-confident self in the face of a cat from another clan, however, she still looked stressed out and tired. "...Valleykit." She meowed after a moment of hesitation and then eyed the rabbit in front of them equally warily as he addressed the queen who was looking after them for the time being. The thing was huge, almost the same size as herself. |
Re: Cattail Pond
It's fine. Skunkblaze mewed, remembering the slightly odd patrol they'd been on together. If you could help me finish weaving these rushes in, and then cover it with moss, that would be great. With that, the molly bounded off to collect more moss, not wanting to use up everything on the walls. Returning with a bundle of it, she began patting it onto the sides of the den, sealing up any lingering cracks. @Estelle @Beau @Starfall

“I’m going to try to get some Thunderclan kits and apprentice’s over here to help with the nest building so you guys don’t have to waste time and energy on it. I think after this den is built you guys can take a break- I’ll have to go check with Duskstar and Twilightstar to see if anything else needs to be done.” With a nod to Skunkblaze, Rushingmoor trotted off to find Buckbranch, thinking the Thunderclan tom might have more success in rallying a troop of young volunteers to build nests. When he arrived, the bengal mix was semi-surprised to see Duskstar, having been a bit too busy to really pay attention to her arrival. Offering each cat a nod as he swooped in, Rushingmoor focused his eyes on Buckbranch. “Sorry to interrupt, but, Buckbranch, I was wondering if you might help me out. I want to try to get some kits and apprentices together to start building nests for the dens we are building but you know your clan better than I- do you care to ask them?” |
