Eveningkit winced at Downkit's harsh tone. Even though it was aimed at Skykit, it stung like a thorn in her pad. Plus, it was very loud. Eveningkit hated it when other cats yelled. She pinned her orange tabby ears against her head. They were already beginning to feel numb from the cold and wet.

Relief stabbed through her when Downkit complied, albeit in a rude way. I wanted to play hide-and-seek, too, she thought, disappointed. But it's okay. I'm fine with anything - anything that's not in the rain! And anything that will make Downkit less rude. She fluffed out her multicolored coat and shivered. Downkit wasn't as mean to her, but Eveningkit really did not like how she treated Skykit. And she still had that venomous voice. Meanie! But Eveningkit wouldn't dare to say that out loud. The more peaceful everyone was, the better.

The look Skykit gave her made Eveningkit feel better. Skykit looked nice, her blue eyes gleaming in the gloomy gray light. Eveningkit smiled back. Maybe Skykit can be my friend.

As soon as the other kits began to move into the nursery, Eveningkit put her paws into motion, running into the nursery as fast as her muddy paws could take her. She stumbled a bit and nearly fell over once, but she managed to make it inside. The comforting milk-scent and warm air hit her immediately. Eveningkit felt herself relax. Thank StarClan! Then she glanced at her sodden pelt and brown-splattered paws. Ugh! I don't want to get any of this in my nest! Nor did she want to make the other queens and kits upset by tracking this... disgustingness into the nursery.

Feeling quite uncomfortable, Eveningkit plopped down. A cold draft still blew in from the nursery's entrance, carrying a few raindrops with it. I can't wait to go back to my nest. Then she, Skykit, and... Downkit... could play together.

"Hmm... maybe we could play moss-ball?" Eveningkit suggested in response to Skykit's question. "But we should clean up first! We don't want to get our nests wet." She leaned down and began to groom her black, dark blue-gray, and orange torbie fur. She gagged. "Ew!" she whined. I don't wanna do this! Maybe I could get another queen to clean me?

But she didn't want to bother any of them. So, Eveningkit continued to groom her fur. I wonder if Mama and Papa would've done this. Well, there was no way of knowing, was there?

Eveningkit shrugged off the thought. She didn't have a Mama and Papa, and she'd always wonder about that. But that was okay. She had the other queens and kits and a Clan full of warriors and medicine cats.

Jaggedkit sighed giving up, he could be stubborn and continue to try and get his sister to fight him or he could just sit and chat. If he went with the former it would likely just upset sprout and earn him the wrath of straws and card. Which he would rather avoid. Guess he'd be sticking to beating up frostie and frostie alone. "I would rather not. Be deputy that is. From what missingbits, um Twistar, told me. Being leader or deputy is just a whole lotta responsibility that I'm not really keen on having."

What did he wanna be when he grew up? Medicine cat? No their den was to stinky and overall the job seemed boring. Maybe a Fury....maybe. "I guess I wanna be the best warrior- no BEST fighter! In the whole of windclan. Most formidable, yeah" that sounded about right. Anyways no with that over he felt like returning to what he was doing before, um sleeping? Yep sleeping. "anyway, if we aren't going to fight there ain't anything worth my while here. For what's worth if you smacked me I would just smack u back" he added, emphasizing this by flicking his sister on the nose with his tail as he walked past her to the nest.

Part of Gracklekit was interested in Crowtooth's explanation of varying-sized birds, although he was more determined to snag these feathers and meat pieces from the tantalizing grasps of the two others — especially when Egretkit wriggled that one feather in front of his maw. He snapped his jaw at it, trying to catch the fronds in his teeth, only to spit out the little hairs that stuck to his tongue afterwards. Yuck!

He spurred on his sister with a rumbly purr and flick of his tail as she leapt to get her pheasant piece, not having as strong of legs as him yet. He was far from grown, of course, but it seemed those muscles were trying to kick in early. When she mentioned he'd be good at tunneling, he puffed out his little chest, stalking around in a proud circle and pawing at the ground.

"Yeah! I would be, wouldn't I? Then I can show Pops that they ain't so scary," he chirped, lashing his tail and swatting at another feather as Crowtooth tried to line their nests with it, playfully impeding his uncle's progress. But when the WindClan deputy mentioned teaching him, Gracklekit paused his intrusion, blue eyes gleaming in the dim lighting of the nursery.

"Ooh, yeah! You can teach me, Uncle Crow! I promise I'd be the bestest apprentice and tunneler! You just wait. Can you make Twilightstar give me you as a mentor? Please please please pleeease?" Crowtooth was the deputy; surely he had a say in who he apprenticed, right? Deputies could do... cool stuff like that! Yeah. And tunneling sounded super cool! A whole land under the ground, fit and open for him to explore? Count him in. He wanted to see it all!

Mistykit turned towards Stumblekit and grinned at him. "Hello," she mews. She quickly found the mossball and tosses it over to the other kit. "Wanna play?" She asked.

"Yes, yes, yes!" He mewed happily. "But please be patient with me, it's hard to play right sometimes. I'll get the hang of my paws one day, though! I'm Stumblekit! I like bugs!"

Dreamkit sat in the corner of her nest. She thought about her journey away from the clan and sighed. She would have been old enough to be an apprentice but she had disappeared.

Stumblekit waddled over. The dizzy kit swayed like he was off balance, but looked positively, absolutely joyous. "Hi there! I'm Stumblekit and I heard you missed your ceremony because you disappeared. I did too!"

"That's a cool name! I wish I had a name like that.." The kit fell into a slightly ungraceful sitting position, head swaying. His striking yellow eyes gleamed cheerfully, and his poofy ginger fur gleamed in the sunlight.

Mistypaw purred. "Nice to meet ya Stumblekit and don't worry, I'm a very patient cat," the apprentice mews to the kit. "What's your favorite type of bug? I like grasshoppers the most, seeing them jump out and just trying to catch them is fun," Mistypaw says, doing a little bounce, mimicking a grasshopper.
