Leopardblaze saw Sootpaw pause briefly which made her slow down in case something was wrong, but then continued swimming when she did. She was doing quite well for not having been swimming for too long. The spotted warrior could see the pure determination on her apprentice's face and it made her smile. The race was almost done and she felt that Sootpaw deserved this one for doing so well, letting her pull slightly ahead of her, they would definitely have more races in the future. She couldn't wait to start battle training and teaching her to fish.

@Shadeleaf "O-oh, okay, I'll try." Brightpaw wasn't sure if she could do it or not, Lotusheart was huge! She backed up and tried anyway. Brightpaw ran up and bonked her paws against Lotushearts chest.

Lotusheart looked at her apprentice as she sped forward. She waited for the attack. She felt a steady knock against her chest. She didn't really sway but it was a good first try.
"Very well done. As your legs get stronger you'll be able to knock over bigger and stronger cats. You may improve by running or other exercises. For now you did well. Now, maybe try again. This time, use your acceleration to your advantage. It might be a bit scary since it feels like you'll fall on your face but it's really simple. The moment you raise your front paws you shouldn't stop. It's like a hunting pounce except it's aimed at someone's chest. Kind of like you're attacking a huge rabbit. Try it. Take your time, charge and leap. "

Brightpaw puffed, a little out of breath. That hadn't been enough? Oh well, she would just try again. "O-okay." She backed up and ran towards Lotusheart. She almost stopped to bonk her mentor but remembered what she said about not stopping, instead she tried to do what she said. (No your explanation was really good) @Shadeleaf

Lotusheart almost swayed backwards. Brightpaw was improving. She'd done as she was told. Her apprentice looked a little out of breath, though.
"Sit down and rest for a bit. We don't want you tiring out completely."

YES YES YES! Splashpaw squeaked, bouncing with energy. She wanted to be the best warrior! And if her mentor wouldn't show up, she would train with other cats. @Radiantshine300

Um, ok? Splashpaw mewed. Wasn't a teacher supposed to show her moves and stuff. Suddenly, she realized this might be like a test. If she did well, Horizonfur would teach her super top secret battle moves, and not bother with the kit stuff. Yeah! she mewed more confidently, lunging towards the older cat, hoping to knock her over. @Radiantshine300
