The WindClan fury poked her head through the den's wide entrance, paws instantly meeting soft moss. It seemed Crowtooth had been earnest in his desire to keep the nursery nice and warm for the upcoming leafbare. Considering her grandkits and greatgrandkit still in the nursery, the former queen couldn't help but purr in appreciation. All kits were important, of course. The future of WindClan. But... well... the spotted warrior had a bit of a soft spot on a few of late. Certainly not something anybody would really be surprised over, in any case.

Currently she was a cat on a mission. A grandmother worried for her sick little grandkit. She had noticed Frostkit had not been at the ceremony, and to say that it had shaken the entire litter that day would be an understatement. Dapplebreeze had stayed out of it for the most part. It was a learning experience, after all. Sometimes things did not go to plan, and one could do little else but carry on.

And yet she was not so heartless as to not worry when the news that one of Snowybreeze's little ones was ill. Of all the reasons to miss a ceremony... well, she supposed that was a very valid one indeed. Perhaps a small visit would help? Some company from his grandmother? Unfortunately for the patched fury, it seemed like he was not around. Good news overall, as she assumed that would mean he was feeling better already.

With her ill greatgrandkit not in the area, Dapplebreeze turned her attention towards her grandkit's nest instead. She had kept her distance from Hawkfur's litter, not wishing to impose too much on the tom. Bravebird had trusted him with the raising of their lovely litter, and unlike Snowybreeze, the wound of having just lost his mate was fresh for him. The last thing the tom needed was an older, fussy warrior trying to take over the upbringing of his little ones. And yet she liked making sure they were alright. From a distance, at least. Surely she couldn't be blamed for wanting to see her grandkits from afar? At the end of the day, she couldn't help loving them. Even if she wasn't a constant presence in their lives.
