He wished he could always be in here with his mate. Sootbunny was the love of his life, and he was so glad she was. He went to his family's nest and nuzzled Sootbunnies forehead. Shimmerkit She:her || Windclan Caution made the kit’s ears perk, though her gaze turned to interest when she caught sight of her dad. “Dad!” Shimmerkit squealed, tail in the air as she bounded over, rubbing against his leg. Her gaze trailed to her mother at the mention of playing outside. “In the cold? Wouldn’t we get sick?” Shimmerkit sat down where she stood next to Honeyflake. The cold outside was much more fun with all the snow but easily, she could easily get sick too. “You guys can play outside but I’m staying in here. I’m sure me and Adderkit will have fun in here. We can have fun in here!” She mewed, padding over to Adderkit and gently pawing at his side. “Can’t we? Sootbunny Windclan queen | 30 moons | She/they/it Sootbunny turned to see Adderkit's reaction first. Alright. So she softly smiled and mewed, "That's alright, but me or your dad will have to stay back here so someone is watching you." Her attention then went to her sweet Deepkit. She watched the kits body language and softly smiled, happy that she was excited. Then her eyes flickered onto a new kit, waddling up to her. Dovekit, was it? Her demeanor softened more than it already was. "Dovekit, is it? I'd love to be your mommy, you can cuddle with me when we all go to sleep and play with your new siblings. My mate Honeyflake, I'm sure would love you too." Not a moment too soon, it would seem. A purr rumbled in her throat as he nuzzled her. "I'm doing well dear, it's much warmer in here than it is out there. Bunnykit and Cinderkit are trying to head outside, so I thought it might be a good idea for them to get out and play. Though it seems so far Adderkit would like to stay in here. And-" She directed her attention to little Dovekit. "I will be taking care of this little one too, I... don't know who their mama was. But they do not have one, so I'll take them on as our own. I hope that's alright, Honey." She gently rubbed against her mate as a sign of affection. Then little Shimmerkit spoke up about the cold. "Alright. Two of you want to stay in, yeah? That's understandable. Would you like to stay with me or your dad? Either way a group of us will go out and enjoy the snow for a small while. Maybe we'll bring back something for everyone to eat and enjoy. How does that sound, everyone?" She looked at her family full of love, of course the new addition was not excluded in this. A pawful. A sweet, fuzzy pawful. Soot begun to count her kits, Adderkit and Shimmerkit wanted to stay inside. Deepkit, Bunnykit, and Cinderkit want to go out. And she wasn't sure what Dovekit wanted to do. She looked over to her mate, "Hon, would you mind watching a few of the kits while I take on the other? Sorry to bring this up on you, but I don't want either group unsupervised." She gave a lick to the back of his ear. {Let me know if I missed someone in the replies or if I got someone's pronouns wrong! I tried to make sure everything was correct, but I'm a bit sleepy at the moment.} |

~Adderkit~ -he/him- He groaned in frustration. Another sibling? Seriously? "another one? Seriously mom?" he snarled out, huffing as he sat back down in his small portion of the nest. He wrapped his tail around his small paws, looking over at Dovekit with a slight look of disgust. "Do we have to have an orphan?" Honeyflake would never raise his voice to the kits, but he doesn't tolerate being mean to other cats. They need a home just like you do. So don't be mean. He turned to the little kitty. Hi Dovekit! I'm Honeyflake, your new father. If I'm ever here and you want to do something with me, just ask and I'll see if we have time! He turned back to Sootbunny. Bunnykit Another sibling?? Outside?? This is the singular BEST DAY OF HER LIFE. At least, so far it is! The shadowy little flufftall toddlers over to Dovekit (who she is one hundred percent calling Dovey) in greeting, that is before grumpy 'ol Addler pipes up about them, not in a very friendly way she might add. She immediately switches direction and target, attempting to pounce on her brother with ferocity. "They're not an orphan Addler! They're our sibling you dummy, you're not allowed to be mean to family!" She declares, bopping his muzzle before adding, "Be nice you mousebrain." With that she lets out a little huff, bouncing over to Dovey like nothing happened at all. "Hi dere! I'm Bunnykit, or just Bunbun, or Bunny! That guy over there who looks like he has ants in his pelt is Addler, don’t mind him, that scowl is just his resting face," She tells her new sibling and definite newest best friend, "You're Dovekit, right? Can I call you Dovey? Oh! Do ya wanna go outside with me?" She offers them a big goofy grin, her tail waving playfully behind her. Yup, she can just tell they'll be besties. ~Adderkit~ -he/him- He hissed, his tail fluffing slightly. "don't touch me!" he snarled, slowly standing, his claws unsheathing. "i say what i want! It is an orphan and i will never have it as my sibling!" He sat down again with a huff, looking away. Sootbunny Windclan queen | 30 moons | She/they/it Sootbunny attention stayed on Dovekit. "If you're cold that's fine. One of us can keep you warm while the other goes out in the snow." A soft toothy grin appeared against the all black pelt. Her attention turned to feisty Adderkit. He stood up to his name, that's for sure. Just like that, her smile went away and her facial expression went stern. "Adderkit. There is plenty of room in the nest for Dovekit as well. How would you feel if you had no family? Hmm? No one to cuddle up with to get warm?" Her eyes fell on her mate, her smile returning. "I'll go out with the ones that want to be in the snow, shouldn't take me too long. I'll bring back a few rabbits or a few birds for us to eat. That all depends on what we have in the pile, of course." A sudden movement in the corner of her vision distracted her, her eyes moving to see Bunnykit pouncing her brother! "Bunnykit- be gentle now. There's a time and place for pouncing. While I understand you are just defending Dovekit, Adderkit will understand in his own time that he cannot be mean to others." She stood there, uncertain whether to punish her daughter besides just scolding her. At least she was getting along with the new kit. Then Adderkit spoke up again. She resisted the urge to raise her voice, even avoiding flattening her ears. Though she had to think VERY hard about flattening her fur. Where did all this attitude come from? Who was telling him- Never mind that. "Adderkit. Put your claws away. Whether you like or not, they are your new sibling. While you are too young to be put up to any punishment, if you're not careful you'll end up missing your apprentice ceremony along with your siblings. I know that it may be a few moons away. But if you continue this behavior you will be lead down that path." She exhaled, taking in a deep breath. "Even if you don't miss your apprentice ceremony, acting like that as an apprentice is going to get you punished with much more exhausting tasks. Like cleaning ticks off of elders, cleaning and maintaining dens, as well as many more things. Behave yourself, Adderkit." She had barely blinked before she saw Cinderkit attack Adderkit. "Cinderkit. It seems you WONT be going outside with us. You need to go into timeout. Pouncing is one thing, but even that's on thin ice. You could do serious damage to him! Go stand in a corner of the den. Your dad will be watching to make sure you do your punishment." Her eyes lingered on the other kit. "Adderkit, you are going in timeout as well. I do not want to hear you calling your siblings an 'it' unless they specify they want that. It's harmful and hurts others feelings. Go in a different corner than Cinderkit. Now." Sootbunny shook her head, gaze going back to her mate. "I'm sorry Hon. Seems you'll have to deal with the angrier bunch. Maybe they need naps.. But don't make 'em have a nap 'til their timeout is over. I want to make sure that they understand what they did was wrong." With that, she turned to count who was joining her outside. "Deepkit and Bunnykit will be going with me outside. Adderkit and Cinderkit are in timeout, they need to take a nap after they're done. Shimmerkit and Dovekit can play or nap if they wish to do so. Come along, you two little puffballs." She turned her attention to Bunnykit, "If you pounce your brother again or do something worse, you'll go into timeout too. You understand?" |
