The platform was too high to jump onto, and the laser could easily be blocked by the cube if she moved it. Upon closer inspection, the cube had a pink heart on it instead of an Aperture logo. Its circle was also pink instead of blue. It was a Companion Cube.

The platform was not white. The laser was pretty close to the ground, and could be easily blocked by the cube if she moved it.

As soon as she picked it up, it fizzled away. "Oh. Did I accidentally fizzle that before you could complete the test? I'm sorry. Go ahead and grab another one." Another cube fell from the ceiling.

It worked, and now the cube blocked the laser. The platform came down so that Jessica could stand on it.
