Hawkcatcher Alright, well it was an acceptable amount of prey for two cats, one of whom hadn't been trained yet. The large molly had just dropped off the prey at the freshkill pile, signalling for Dawnpaw to do the same, and glanced around for the deputy. ... Right, he had gone on a patrol too. The warrior more heard than saw Spiderthoart, but it was probably best to let him finish before approaching him. "There you are." Her apprentice had already walked up to the deputy but Hawkcatcher still placed herself slightly in front of her. If Spiderthroat was going to be angry he should be mad at her, not the apprentice. " Dawnpaw and I did manage to catch two birds, two voles, and two mice in total. She sucked in a breath, shoved the rest of the tears away, and lifted her head to locate the deputy. There was a brief moment of hesitation before the hornet headed over to him, ducking her head as a greeting as well as a sign of respect. |

The first trip into camp to drop the prey was standard and really didnt show why this rumpled fur complete with missing patches was the case, just consisting of two chipminks a rabbit and a garter snake. However their second trip, made in silence as Mudhound had entered the clearing to drop the prey in the pile and just left without a word, revealed more. A goose, a big one, dead with equally ruffled plumage as evidence of the fight that had taken place. The evil beast was dropped in front of the equally evil deputy, Mudhound with an uncharacteristic grumpy expression as they grumbled out a "Thatsa good haul and Im not going back out for more. The goose punished me and Im gonna cry on you (snot and all) if you try and do more so nyah. Good. Night." with a stuck out tongue to emphasize their grumpiness over the mess the hunting had turned out to be the tripod shoved the goose to Spiderthroat, more then ready to go to their nice nest and forget about it all. A heaved sigh overcame the tom. "Alright. Alright. Both of you are fine. You especially Redhawk. If you were hurtin next time tell me no, I ain't unreasonable." he said, his words drawled out. "Communicate, dunno if you've noticed, but people readin isn't my strong suit, nor is it somethin I can overprep for." a pause as he looked between the two. "Your patrolmates are perfectly capable of reportin without you. Like how Mudhound did. You caught food for the clan, go lay back down an' ah. Springlight's takin a second to reorganize that's right. Well stay there for a second and I'll look over your paw real quick an you can go follow Mudhound an sleep." a sigh. He than looked up at Hawkcatcher and his apprentice. A calm look on his expression as motioned for Redhawk to lay down so he could inspect her paw. "Well. I apologize about me chattin like that with the pair of you than. Since you'd reported in, albiet a little late, than you're not who I was talkin about." a pause as he attempted to think about the words he was going to say. Maw moving as if he was chewing on his words. "You're appreciated an' I'll see about fixin the behavior of your patrol mate. Go get some sleep." well. They were reportin back. That's the main thing that matters. If they wanted a better apology he'd think of somethin later down the line had it come to that. Hmm. Speakin of Springlight. Maybe he'd send out some Herb patrols. Nothin major nothin fancy. Just somethin to keep it in stock. |

Patrols to keep whatever herbs are needed in stock. What they are? He has no clue, he hadn't looked. But it doesn't hurt to be overstocked. If they had a lot of one thing. perfect. Lord knows this Clan is full of very not graceful idiots who often get some good scrapes. "Alright. Gather round somethin a lil different. I'll be sendin you lot on some herb patrols. Nothin specific, grab what you can and bring it back. They felt a twinge of guilt, though they weren't responsible for what happened. Snakepelt sighed, standing straight as they spoke. "Alright, understood, Spiderthroat," They discreetly turned towards Almondpaw, making a motion with their paw. The small movement was meant the signify "come on, let's go," and Snakepelt hoped it was conveyed that way. They trotted a bit towards the entrance to camp, waiting for Almondpaw to follow. There was a pit in their stomach they could feel growing, though when thinking over the situation, it seemed to dull. Why should they feel bad about warriors unable to fulfill the duties they were supposed to? They knew as soon as they got to the forest, everything would ease. Right back out with a massive group of cats, it seemed. Bumblestar really wasn't a fan of being part of a huge outing, but whatever brought back more faster. Stars get him out of this hell-hole. Mountaintalon briefly debated avoiding going on this patrol entirely, if only for the sheer amount of cats involved. Spiderthroat's theatrics caused a roll of his eyes, too, but he didn't doubt that the deputy meant it. Whatever. With a growl, the large tom moved to stand near the first of his patrol to appear. He already wasn't a fan. "I don't like your smile." He leveled Sproutfleck with a glare. "This is serious work, not a nursery playdate. Treat it as such." Risingstorm heard his name get called for another patrol , Good he could help out the clan and such so herbs again rising wasn't good with herbs but it wouldn't help then his somewhat smiled turned to a frown oh great he was stuck with mountainlion one of the many cats who didn't like him and if rising was lucky the warrior would spare his own tabby pelt the tom sighed and waited for his other patrol mates

horsetrot quietly swallowed a bit of the uncertainty, the group they were supposed to be going with was .. large. to say the least. spiderthroat, coldfire, bumblestar, violetfreckle and stars forbid the walking headache sunpaw herself? if he didnt know any better he mightve thought that he was in trouble for something..but perhaps this could be an opportunity to show he was eager to help and take responsibility. large group with pretty high profile cats, i mean, spiderthroat and bumblestar herself? horsetrot had to admit that besides worry, he was mostly happy to show that he wasnt just quietly sitting around camp most of his time and could do good work. back on topic, they were supposed to be looking for burdock, marigold and cobwebs and whilst he had actually no idea how burdock and marigold looked, he was sure cobwebs wouldnt be too hard to find at the windclan border..gotta have some between undergrowth and around trees..and he could take a peek at what the other cats were collecting, figure out what marigold and burdock looked like. |

Cliffjumper walked over once he heard his name called for a hunting patrol nice nice this should be fun the warrior thought to himself sitting down looking for his patrolmates @Starfall Risingstorm nodded his head growling slightly mostly to himself then walked off to the leaders den taking the kit with him after all he needed to take the trouble maker |

When she didn't have to rush teaching her apprentice the basic hunting techniques, Hawkcatcher quite liked them. It was something about tracking and calculating the distance to her prey that she found more exciting compared to border patrols, so while both were necessary and important for the upkeep of the clan, she far preferred this task. Two warriors he didn't quite know. Fine by Mountaintalon, that meant he probably wouldn't need to converse with either of them very much. With a grunt, he rose from his resting spot to meet up with Cliffjumper.
He turned back to the clearing after a moment of silent debate. "LOTUSPAW!" he roared. "Hunting patrol! Get over here!" [ @Spider. @furrensic @isla ] |

Wolfhive is... tired. This was probably the understatement of the century; since recovering from being ill, he'd been pulled in a million directions to try to keep things in order. There were things he wanted to do he simply did not have time for with all the nonsense of the world.
He wondered if he looked as exhausted as he felt. Is this what his ma felt? She never seemed to waver in her energy. "Listen up!" Wolfhive had raised his voice, clear and crisp throughout the clearing. There should be no reason to not hear him. "I'm issuing patrols: yes, Spiderthroat has sent some out but our Clan has been focused more on herbs than prey and our borders. I want to make sure everyone goes to bed tonight secure and with a full stomach. "When I call your name, I expect you to come. If you don't, there'll be consequences." Wolfhive would give them their assignments once he knew who was here - he didn't care for the "call n hope they hear" approach Spiderthroat did. Wolfhive liked results. "Hollyheart [ @Hollyheart of thunder], Salmonshade [ @Tallstar], Willowfrost [ @TanghuluCat], Russetflare [ @forest], Flamingclaw [ @Concorde]!" Willowfrost had recently come back, but her injuries were mostly healed and Wolfhive wanted to see how she'd fare today. However, this was not all the cats he wanted. With the new rules in place due to predators, Wolfhive wanted to make sure apprentices had added protection. "None of you currently have apprentices, which is why you'll be paired up with a mentor-apprentice duo. Our Clan is facing several threats in our territory - foxes, badgers, vultures, an owl, traps... and while we are working to resolve some of these problems, we want to make sure we have each other's backs. "Stay with the duo you're assigned to. Do not, under any circumstances, leave your patrol. The apprentice you're with needs to stay within eyesight at all times and if something happens to them it'll be on you and the mentor." A lash of his tail, because Wolfhive wasn't playing games. This wasn't a demotion matter, this was a "if an apprentice gets hurt on your watch, you aren't in ThunderClan anymore" matter. Now onto the mentors and apprentices... "Sunflowerswirl [ @Oliver], Antpaw [ @bigbxdwolfz], Lavendersong [ @twizzypaw], Creepingpaw [ @twizzypaw], Acornfall [ @Luna16], Hailpaw [ @Bean], Sparrowpelt [ @SuspiciousMindz], Snowpaw [ @snowflake. ], Cinderfoot [ @Frigost], Willowpaw [ @Blossom Cry]!" There'd be a lot of cats gathered, but ThunderClan was ever-growing and assuming everyone did their part, this was a good step to ensuring the Clan was fed n safe. "Once everyone's gathered, I'll tell you where you're goin'." --- IMPORTANT OOC NOTE --- Your cats have 3 days (until 8/11 @ 11:59pm Pacific Time!) to respond to this post or Wolfhive will issue a punishment for disregarding a Hornet's call and a patrol assignment. Apprentices will be getting a lighter punishment than warriors, as warriors will be temporarily exiled. If you cannot make this post deadline please VM me to avoid punishment! The actual assignments will be given 8/11 unless everyone arrives within the deadline / I'll get it out sooner then. :heartbounce: |

He was already on thin ice as it was, he could not afford to make another mistake. Rising to his feet, Flamingclaw made his way outside of the warriors' den and over to Wolfhive, he sat down in silence, awaiting instructions. |

Willowpaw trotted out of the apprentice den to the hearing of her name. "My first patrol! Eek! I can't wait!" She thought. " I haven't seen my mentor around, so I hope he shows up!"
