The battle scarred tabby seemed annoyed at her apprentice biting her tongue to prevent from lashing out at the younger cat, "Dip yours paw into the water don't just slap the water...Try again and try not to mess up this time." she mewed a bit of a growl evident in her voice.

"R-right, s-sorry, Vinewatcher," she whispered. This time, she waited patiently, though it practically bore her out of hunting and she began to step back. Although, before she stepped back completely away from the pond, she spotted a chub. She then slammed her paw into the water with claws unsheathed and she lifted the chub out of the water and finished it off with a bite.

"I-I did it!" she yowled happily.

"We'll need more prey to bring back to the clan but with your yowling, you'll surely scare it all off!" she mewed swatting the back of Littlepaws head in hope of knocking some sense into her, "If you want to go ahead and try to scent out a waterfowl I can give you a quick lesson on how to catch one as patience doesn't seem to be your strong suit and you haven't had a swimming lesson yet" she mewed quietly looking down to see fish still swimming below. A fish just swimming close enough the tabby dipped her paw into the water throwing a small cherub out onto shore pinning it down as it flopped around scaring the other fish away as she gave it a killing bite.

With her yowling, the she-cat didn't realize she was scaring the fish away. As Vinewatcher's paw landed a blow on the back of her head, she shrank back and stared up at her mentor.

"Ow!" she hissed she then sat back up and mumbled. "I'd like to try hunting a waterfowl..."

Littlepaw began to walk around the pond with her head held high and jaws parted to scent a waterfowl, "A waterfowl will be here soon, the wind is carrying its scent to us."

The battle-scarred tabby followed the apprentice as they scented prey, "Good, now what your going to do once it's in reach is dig your claws into its feathers bringing it down, quickly deliver a killing bite and if you can't get a killing bite immobilize it by going for the wings. Before that you'll have to make sure it doesn't sense you" she explained showing the young apprentice how she is supposed to stalk the prey.

The scarred tabby had sunk low watching her apprentice from a decent distance, her blue-green eyes narrowed as she scrutinized the younger cat. As soon as Littlepaw had made the kill the silvery-Blue tabby nodded in approval, "Good, You'll make a fine hunter one day" she complimented though her voice was bland.
