Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat Applications
(Editing the edit: Remora's ceremony is pending. I've given up on spoiler tags.) Remora at a glance Remora is a seven moon old agender ThunderClan cat, soon-to-be an apprentice. At first glance, they seem to be fairly quiet and poised, not taking enjoyment in bouncing around aimlessly and playing absent-minded games with themself. In reality, if they don't play by themself they can hardly play at all, making many cats think they prefer not to play. They have been quick to learn practically since they were born and pick things up really easily. As of now, they know the basics of healing broken bones from the first time they helped Zerosight, and they are something of a clean freak. They are fairly stubborn and won't take no for an answer when need be. Their fur is grey and white, they have a pink nose and olive eyes. But those who know Remora... Know that there's a lot more to them than that. They are fascinated by anything unknown, especially the ocean and herbs, and have a peculiar interest in anything they can't explain properly. They own a smallish, round rock which they try in vain to hide, which they suck on when nervous for some unknown reason. They were orphaned before they were a moon old and Fennelnose took them in. Now, they look and behave as if they were born in ThunderClan and are well warmed up to the Clan, making it hard to guess than they aren't Clanborn. Remora Dancing With Themself You see a small grey kitten doing a weird thing that looks like they're moving their front paw up and down diagonally on their hind legs all alone. Odd. (What'd you expect?) A Chat With Remora [ You see a small grey cat sitting in a clearing, rolling a small stone under their paw. Intrigued by their odd behavior, you sit and watch them for a while. During this time, you notice that their olive eyes seem somewhat unfocused; that must be why the small cat didn't notice you. They're thinking. You stand up to approach the small cat, but in that moment they jumped up, noticing you and looking somewhat panicked. ] "Oops!" they yelped as their pebble rolled out from under their paw. Catching it in their jaws, they look nervously at you, their dotted white tail flicking. They obviously hope you didn't see the stone. [ "Hello," you greet the young cat, trying to hide your confusion. "Why were you startled by me..?" ] The grey kitten simply batted a white ear. "Cats usually ignore me." They don't seem bothered much by this fact, making you unsure what path to take on this conversation. [ You decide on asking their name, and ask, "What are you called?" ] The cat, who you now realize is about seven moons old, looks mildly up at you. "My name is Remora(paw). Well, that's what cats call me." [ You're somewhat surprised by this piece of information--Isn't "Remora" a RiverClan name?--and the small cat seems to read your mind. ] "If you're here for news to bring back to your gossip hub, you might as well leave now," they advise, apparently not intending to shake you off but not exactly encouraging you to continue the conversation. [ Slightly taken aback, you reply, "Oh, of course not! That isn't why I'm talking to you... No. I think I've heard of you..?" ] Remora doesn't seem to care too much about this, but they appear to be somewhat satisfied when you say you've heard of them. "Well, I s'ppose you might've. Are you going to leave me alone now? I'm doing something... Important." [ Frustrated with the smaller cat's peculiar style of conversation, you consider walking away, but again, the young grey cat takes one look at you and seems to guess what you're thinking. ] "Seriously, it might do us both a favor if you did go away." [ You decide not to think anymore. "What's up with the mind reading?" ] This seems to greatly amuse Remora. "Mind reading? I don't know about that, you're just very bad at hiding your emotions!" [ You're suddenly self-conscious about this. ] Looking you over, the grey cat flicks their ear again. "Are you here to ask me something?" [ "Yeah," you respond. "Why do you think you're right to be the medicine cat?" ] This seems to confuse the cat. "Why do you want to know?" [ You wait for their answer. ] "Well," they finally say thoughfully, "I guess I do know a lot about herbs and remedies from helping around the medicine cat's den. I can mend broken bones with a little help." [ You nod along. "Bones?" you inquire; surely this can't be all? ] "Yeah. That's what I'm best at. Owlpaw broke her legs and I helped Zerosight fix her up. It was sorta sloppy, though." [ "Alright. Well, have a nice day," you say as you move to walk away. ] "You're leaving?" Remora asks, their brow furrowing. [ "Yes, I ought to go." ] "Alright then... May StarClan light your path." [ "And yours," you reply, turning to go back to your den to rest. What an oddly clever little furrball. ] "And remember to keep your den clean!" the cat calls as you go inside. Ideas that might take effect -I may transfer my power card to Remora- -Remora will probably witness pretty much everything they care about die. Happy times.- |
Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat Applications
{Holy chicken balls.....}
WIP. WILL ADD STUFF LATER. A proud senior warrior, Wheatfur, pads forward, his violet eyes focused on his leader; his violet eyes blazing with fury. Zerosight resigning? Mouse hearted coward. "Gyrestar. Why did you let him resign? This clan needs a medicine cat, and you let him walk away. You know what? Im going to be medicine cat, to show that even the most aggressive warrior can be a better medicine cat than the pile of fox dung that calls itself 'Zerosight'." And without waiting for an answer; the tom walked away... The tom settled In the medicine den, wrinkling his nose at the putrid stench of herbs. Yuch. he thought, but didn't complain. I basically insulted my leader, I should at least follow through with my threat. The wheat-coloured tom looked down at the herbs; from his many injuries he recognised a few herbs, marigold, cobwebs, and... comfrey... Wheatfur looked down at his dead back-right foot and snarled. Its Zerosight's fault that my paw is broken... He closed his eyes remembering his fight with the badger, and nearly dying.... A small, fluffy white apprentice padded in, the priced her ears at Wheatfur. "Hi Wheatfur! Wheres Zerosight?" She mewed, as she had just been on a patrol. Wheatfur's violet eyes rested on the apprentice, his strong, but senior body, shaking in anger, "That mouse-heart has resigned, he thinks that Thunderclan doesn't need a medicine cat, so I'm going to be one." "But your old, nearly an elder, and you've been a warrior all your life; you love fighting!" She mewed in surprise. Wheatfur smirked, "It takes a cat who has inflicted wounds to understand them, I can tell how deep a claw wound is, if a bite needs to be dealt with now, or later. Thats why most cause of death are battles, medicine cats don't understand the art of the fight. Now what wound ails you?" Oh! Well, when I was hunting a fox jumped out! I got away, but it striked my paw." She gestured to her back right paw. Wheatfur froze. The paw was crooked, just like his. I won't let her be disabled. The tom reached for a few things, comfrey, marigold, and tansy, he got a few large leaves and sticks as well. he went to work, first chewing and pressing the herbs on the wound, he then pulled it back into shape, and added the sticks, so It would heal correctly. he then wrapped large leaves around it. "There, you'll have to stay in this den a while, so it could heal. but remember to walk around a bit, I will make it stronger." The tom smiled, a rare, purely joyous smile. Beat that Zerosight. |

Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat Applications
LittlePaw's Interview:
Q: So, I hear you want to apply for the role of ThunderClan medicine cat, is that correct? A: Yes that's right! Q: Any particular reason? A: Well, since...around the time I joined the clan, I knew that fighting and violence was not my comfort zone. Every day I saw patrols of cats, some as young as 6 moons, returning with fatal wounds from battle. I hated that. I always felt welcome and comforted in the Medicine den. I want to give that feel to other young cats like me, too! Now I realise that herbs and gentleness are my area of expertise. Q: Ah, I see. So you mention that you joined the clan...can you give us some backstory? A: of course. I was actually a kittypet known as Little. I heard my friends talking about these "clans" that lived in the forest next to our twoleg homes. I was about 4 moons old then. I took a peek one day, and the clan I peeped in actually happened to be the one that I called home, ThunderClan. I was caught after a foolish act of mine. They took me to Ashstar to question me and decide my punishment. Fortunately, Ashstar saw pity on me and let me join in with their rough lifestyle. However, I do still love my twolegs and at times do miss the warmth and their well timed strokes... Q: thank you for that. What are your plans for the future, assuming you get the part? A: Well, I'd like my warrior, or rather medicine cat, name to be LittleMouse as a Mouse was the first piece of prey I caught on ThunderClan territory. Also, I have no plans for love. Not in the clan and nor would I have ever loved a ton in my old kittypet home. I just want peace and lots of loyal friends! Hehe! And I'd like to be a medicine cat worth remembering...I want to save many lives, bring new lives to the nursery and I won't just be your typical medicine cat that uses herbs, reads omens all that jazz, I want to give advice and help to cats who are being abused or bullied...I am, in my opinion, a very open cat as well as wise and calm despite my age. And I am also yet to go to a gathering... Q: so you say you think you're wise and such...anymore personality traits we Should know about? A: I'm friendly...childish at time...defineatly clumsy! Funny...helpful, eager...that's basically me summed up in every way I can think of! Q: well I love that! I think it really suits your appearance too...what colour are your eyes? They're beautiful! A: umm actually they are a yellow-green colour...like Hawk's eyes. Also my pelt is a light brown tabby with a white underbelly, paws and tail tip. Q: nice! So now let's talk more...relationships and your opinion on things and how you get along with people...all those kinds of things... A: okay, yeah let's do It. I actually haven't talked much with other cats but Ashstar...was my hero, my saviour...I defineatly looked up to him as a kit growing up...and the fact that he had mercy on...me, me, a kittypet of all cats...so I really honour and thank him for that. I was absoloutely devastated when he died...umm of course, I think every cat was but...to have lost...the one person...that showed you sympathy and that you felt you could talk to and give you confidence...it really, really hurts. As for Zerosight, not my favourite, I never really knew him...but without him, I defineatly wouldn't be here, I know you probably wouldn't either...and without him, I wouldn't have been able to apply for the duty...of protecting my clan...and keeping them safe in all seasons from infection, disease...complications at birth...but I know Zerosight was there for a long time, he was very talked about, very popular among the cats...but I think I can bring something more to the role of medicine cat... And as far as relationships go, I...am very friendly and I am open to talk to any cat...anytime...hey, if you wake me up, I WON'T BE GROUCHY! Just come talk to me and I can help you out! Q: that sounds good to me! So now more...proper and application like...how many times a day...like how active are you in and around the clan? And what are your average...work...days...how long do you work for? A: oh I am active every day...but as for how long my average...activeness...is...it depends and varies really on what I am doing, how much time I have to do it but I am active for hours and hours at a time every day...I'd say my activeness level is about 28.23 but I mean it would obviously be higher if cats gave me more work to do. Great StarClan do I love working! Q: terrific! Well, Littlepaw, thank you for your time and the results shall be announced on 12th of March! Goodbye, may StarClan light your path! A: May StarClan go with you, too...thank you for this lovely interview! |

Re: ThunderClan Medicine Cat Applications
Blue-for the blue colour of his pelt || Bird-for his jumpy/skittish nature ~ Frankly, Bluebird was almost getting annoyed by his own over-the-top reflexes. It wasn't normal, and he knew it-but he simply couldn't help it. He'd assumed that he'd just get over it when he got older, but no- it only got worse from there. Bluebird would jump at the sound of birds tweeting, the sound of padding feet-everything. It seemed like all of his senses were over the top; as if he had the ears of a blind cat. As a kit and apprentice, he was teased occasionally; and often times others would try to scare him. They always succeeded. You'd think that after twenty moons of living like this, one would get used to it-right? Not in this tom's case. Ever the jumpy, and always. Another quirk of his was also his inability to sit still. This didn't disadvantage him, not really though, and he was able to sit for a while, but he always had to be moving. Be it his tail swishing back and forth, or his front paws kneading the ground, Bluebird was unable to sit still. While this was an annoyance, he had the personality of a cat who was calm. Bluebird didn't have much of a temper- not really, and was hardly ever grumpy. But he wasn't overly excited and perky, either. He was friendly and pretty chill, if you ignored his constant moving. He was pretty funny at times, and would occasionally try to joke to brighten the mood. But Bluebird was deep, and liked to have serious conversations with others, and liked to try to help- almost in a therapeutic way. Either way, he was an odd cat. Always twitching, moving, or startled, but it was as if his personality was trying to counteract his skittish nature. His personality and reactions just didn't quite fit, in an odd yet interesting way. It was as if he had the personality of a calm, gentle warrior and the reactions and skittishness of a nervous kit. He never seemed quite settled or comfortable, and yet the way he acted made it seem like he was perfectly fine with his surroundings. ~ The blue Peterbald tom sat quietly in the Warriors' Den, the end of his tail twitching as he pondered ways to help aid the cat beside him. The cat was small-young, actually. Too young to be in the Warriors' Den, that is, but not too young to speak for themself and argue back when Bluebird told them they shouldn't have been there. Technically, the cat hadn't wanted to talk to Bluebird in the first place, it had been him who made the cat sit down and speak with him, but he himself hadn't said that they'd speak specifically in the Warriors' Den. But the cat had no interest in listening to what Bluebird had to say, and frankly, judging by their overall view on others, they likely didn't have any sort of interest in what others had to say. This belief alone should have annoyed Bluebird in some way, but it didn't. The cat sighed, and the sudden sound out of the silence was enough to startle the jumpy cat. The other cat arched a brow at this, slight amusement glittering in their yellow orbs before fading back to the clouded, depressed gaze they once wore. Bluebird blinked and cleared his own throat, before turning to the cat- a she-cat, by the name of Lightningpaw. "I'll bet that you know why I requested to speak with you," Bluebird said calmly. But Lightningpaw-ever the untrustworthy, shook her head in denial. But this hadn't surprised Bluebird-not in the slightest. This was a normal response, actually, whether Lightningpaw knew this, or not. "Why do you think I asked to speak with you, then?" Bluebird asked, trying again to get a response. When she remained silent, with only a shrug, Bluebird still appeared to be unfazed by this. "Well then, I suppose I'll have to ask. How are you dealing with your father's absence?" This question was directed right at her soft spot that he knew she harbored. He'd heard of how her father left the clans to become a loner, and how her father had basically abandoned her four moons ago. With her biological mother out of the picture, and adopted mother bitter and hateful, Lightningpaw couldn't have been in a good place mentally. Just as he'd predicted, she flinched at his comment. No, Bluebird was not at all trying to hurt her. He was trying to find the source of it all. "Lately I've noticed you hanging out alone. You usually hang out with Cariboupaw-do you not?" He asked. At this, Lightningpaw nodded, still seemingly reluctant to speak- but nodding was good news to him. "And you two are still friends?" He asked, earning a second nod. "Have you been unable to talk to him due to your apprentice duties?" Another nod. Bluebird stopped speaking, for a moment, gathering his information. "Now Lightningpaw- you hardly know me, and that is fine. But I need you to trust me- just for a little bit- alright?" She hesitated this time, but nodded slowly. Bluebird let out a relieved sigh, and went on. "Now, I wan't you to trust me because I want you to let it all out. Tell me how you feel about your father, your biological mother, your adopted mother, the other apprentices, being an apprentice, everything you are going through or have gone through. I want you to shout- blame me for it maybe, any way you can let it out. I know you've bottled up every ounce of that anger-that hatred, inside of you. And if you don't let it out, it will eat you alive. Metaphorically speaking." Bluebird said this, looking straight into her golden gaze with his own. Minutes went by-maybe hours. But they were not filled with uncomfortable silence. They were filled to the brim with shouting, screaming, wailing, and crying. Lightningpaw told Bluebird hatefully of all she'd been through, what she thought of the clan, others, and herself. She emptied it out- and he was proud of her for that. When she finished and was just a crying mess, Bluebird wrapped his thin tail around her, and soothed her with encouraging words. He reminded her of all the good in the world, of all the kind cats, of how her friend Cariboupaw would always be there for her. He reminded her of how lucky she was-everything. And while he knew she wouldn't be perfectly back to normal, and that she'd still have bad days where she'd bottle things up again, he knew he'd earned her trust, and that she'd come back to rant once more. That was all he wanted- for others to be safe and feel happy. Who wouldn't want that? ~ |
