The cat ears swiveled at their name being called, they looked around for the others their eyes first landed on Gingerfrost and the brown tuxedo made their way over to the warrior, gently tapping his shoulder with her tail.

Truly she hoped that none of the others would mention her muteness. They couldn't deal with that embarrassment today.

(Could I get a physical description of Smallmouse and Swiftpaw pls. I tried finding you bios with no luck.)

As Amberbright tried to coax Smallmouse into sensibility, Reedwhisker's voice rang out over the camp for a second time. The large dark brown warrior panned her hazel eyes from cat to cat, assigning duties and responsibilities as befitted them. She blinked gratefully at the younger warrior who seemed to understand the risk of the situation well. Even if she was aware that her denmate might make a gripe or two about it. Her ears fluttered up and down as she heard the sounds of Goldenleafs rasping, followed closely by subtle soft sneezes that downplayed the seriousness of having an ill cat in camp before leafbare. Amberbright had lived a long time, and watched more than one cat die to some illness or another.

She was relieved when Reedwhisker ordered him to Fawnpaw's den. The sooner he is treated the better. As she watched him march off she also noticed her sons gray stripes appear and disappear as he moved through the throng of cats. Slatestripe will be excited to see the ocean again. The warm thought overtook her making Amberbright realize just how long RiverClan had been mired in sorrow. Rarely did tasks provide both a sense of purpose and joy these days. She was glad to think otherwise of Reedwhisker's plan. This is exactly what the clan needs.

As one side of her lip curled into a gray furred grin the elder silently wished Pikestar would walk into the clearing and behold this moment. The clans comradery was just the sort of medicine he needed to ease his weighty shoulders, and troubled mind. The small old calico turned back to Smallmouse who had yet to answer with either rebuke, or pleasure. She seemed to be processing which emotion she would allow to govern her next action. Amberbright simply flicked her small tail, "I'll go find Swiftkit."
She padded briskly towards the nursery looking for the kit she had not yet met before.

Goldenleaf sniffled, annoyed that he was unable to help his clanmates. He touched noses with Featherspirit, wishing her good luck on her moss gathering patrol.

Dappledpaw silently padded over to where there seemed to be an event going on... The spotted she-cat watched as cats milled about, minding their own business. Hopefully, no one noticed her, and she could just be peaceful for a bit. She listened to what a cat who seemed to be in charge said, and nodded. Finding moss is what she would do. Dappledpaw knew all the best spots. She stretched, looked around.

Swiftkit squeaked as their name got called, they could help! The black kit's amber eyes widened. This would definantly be the best moment in their life, ever. Hearing her name said by another cat, she asumed that was one of her team-mates! Running along to the she-cat on his red tinted paws, he jumped up in front of the elder. "I'm Swiftkit! I'm Swiftkit!"

The elder heard the Swiftkits calls before she saw him. The obvious excitement in his voice made the old cat pine for her youth. A wave of nostalgia for the easy bliss of youth filling her heart with warmth. When Amberbright did catch a glimpse of the kit it was striking. Such a wonderful combo of colors! Orange eyes were set into black fur that fell down to his paws, which were tinted red like the color of fresh earth. She smiled at Swiftkit as he scampered up enthusiastically. "Hello there little one I'm Amberbright. She cooed, Lets go back over to Smallmouse in the elders den, we need your help to get the den properly cold proof...think you can do it?" She padded back towards the elders den with hear head cocked looking back at Swiftkit warmly, lovingly waiting for her response.

The large molly felt her mother beside her and she dipped her head to her before she heard her name get called. Okay she was with Sunstone, Birdpaw, and Ferretpaw. Seeing that nobody had come over she took it upon herself to get them to. "Sunstone! Birdpaw! Ferretpaw!", she called. Marigodlleap wasn't impatient she just wanted to make sure they were still there.

"I'm right here." The massive tabby replied when Marigoldleap called for him. He was only right behind her.

Seaweed gathering, hm? He'd never gathered seaweed before, but hopefully it would be easy! Sunstone finally rose from his loaf position, signaling that he was ready to go whenever Birdpaw and Ferretpaw joined them.

Birdpaw padded up to Marigoldleap and Sunstone. The silver and blue ragdoll smiled brightly. "Hi!" She then looked around for Ferretpaw and didn't do anything else because her role-player is tired.

Ferretpaw purred excitedly as his name was spoken, looking around he didn't know where to go until his name got called by Marigoldleap. Padding over, he glanced at Sunstone with a friendly grin. When Birdpaw came, they'd make a great team! With that thought, the she-cat padded up her self! He didn't know exactly what seaweed was, but it didn't sound half bad!

Much to the young tom's luck as he sat, he wasn't required to move an inch in order to find those on his patrol. Cicadapaw was quick to find him with what's their name (Silentstripe) not far behind. He just turned an eye in their direction, seeing little form of greeting from them he wasn't going to be the one to start it. A few short moments passed by until the senior warrior showed up. Gingerfrost wasn't paying any particular attention to what Blizzardwind said (was that supposed to be a joke?), though the shield did subtly note the distribution of the first seaweed and kelp patrol; it wouldn't have been his first choice, but if they stayed close.
"Let's go?"
Returning his green gaze on the other members of his patrol, seen as no one was doing so, Gingerfrost decided to propose their departure. He would like to be back before it gets too late after all, the days have been cold lately.

Aah glorious! Her patrol would go to fetch the seaweed and kelp. Truthfully the spotted warrior wasn't fond of the slimy green plants. One of her pastimes was going to the beach and brawling with the crustaceans, or digging around in the sand. Once she crowned herself the ultimate beach warrior, Featherflame would end the day wading in the water until an unsuspecting fish swam by. Then with her huge muscles, she would kill the fish and return to the clan with dinner.

One issue however was the seaweed. While her gray paws stood rooted in the shallow waters waiting for the smooth body of trout to brush by, other creatures would bump against her as well. Too many times she had leapt down on what she thought was a fish, only to find a piece of kelp stuck between her claws! Infuriating!

"We shall retrieve all the seaweed from the ocean! Our nests and dens will be lined with their green bodies!" She declared triumphantly to no one in particular. Her booming voice surely reached each and every cat within a 50 mile radius.

The first patrolmate she spotted was Slatestripe. A rather puny addition to their patrol. I must find time to beef up... Smallstripe! Those muscles are barely bigger than a kits! Despite her orange eyes squinting at the warrior, she greeted him with a bright smile. "I see we are the first here Smallstripe!" She had already forgotten his name.

“That would be Slatestripe, not Smallstripe.” Flintfang said, tone laced with palpable mirth as he joined the two warriors of their group. But all seriousness aside, Flintfang was definitely the opposite of serious-ity. Because after all, flirting and teasing was embedded into his easygoing, everyday nature. He arched a suggestive brow in Slatestripe's direction, pausing briefly to teasingly mouth 'Smallstripe' before letting his sage green orbs roam back over to the warrior in question. Featherflame. “Alrighty then! We all know I'm the impeccably handsome Flintfang.” He announced this certain fact to the group with a charming grin, and then looked over Featherflame for a second. “And I think we've got all the brawn right here with lovely Featherflare-- Forgive me, I meant flame, not flare.”

Casting the fellow RiverClanners a sheepish look, Flintfang turned away to keep track of his two sisters, pursing his lips as he watched Reedwhisker and Silverpaw. At least Reedwhisker was going to be mostly staying in camp, but the thought of Silverpaw going outside of camp with random warriors who weren't him made the silver-furred warrior feel antsy. Shaking away the slithering doubts taking hold of his mind, Flintfang let out a cleansing breath and turned back to his patrolmates with a wide smile. “So,” Forcing cheerfulness into his tone, the sage-gazed warrior's lips quirked into a believable smirk. “Soon as the apprentices show up, I'll bet we'll be ready to get going.”

He squeaked, looking up at the elder in admireation before jumping on his paws. "We'll make the elders den the most comfortable den in the clans!!"

It wasn't hard to find his patrol, due to a rather loud cat in his group. Still he took his time moving over to them, and it appeared he wasn't the only one. The other apprentice assigned had yet to show.

They sat down without word to the others. Blue eyes searching the quickly dispersing crowd for the white and black pelt of his den mate. At this point they should just leave, there were enough of them already. That thought made them shake their head in discomfort. It was a small thing sure, but they had nothing against Cloudpaw, not yet at least, so he could have at least some patience. Working on yourself was much more difficult then one would think, and there wasn't much in the way of return.

Cicadapaw hummed and nodded with the suggestion of Gingerfrost, truly they wanted to get their paws moving. The cold was bothering them and they knew it would get only colder when they got to the water. Though they hoped once the fresh moss was put into the dens and the kelp was put on the entrances they would be able to sleep better.

The elderly calico smiled over her shoulder at Swiftkits declaration. "That's the spirit! You are well on your way to becoming a respectable warrior Swiftkit, taking care of the old and young is an important part of that." The former warrior meant every word she said, even if it was being said in a rosy fashion to the small kit. Not every young cat would have been so thrilled to simply do glorified cleaning for the elderly, and maybe Swiftkit didn't understand the task yet. That was always a possibility, however something told Amberbright that she was not wrong to feel hopeful about his dedication. That it was in fact borne of something other than his youthful naivete, a true core trait of his character.

I suppose only time will tell. It always eventually tells. Her thoughts floated to her former apprentices and their tragic demises. Reality was often hard to wrestle with, and age did not change the fact that Amberbright had been proven wrong before. As she pondered lost in the moment she felt Swiftkit lolloping around her paws as they entered the den. She chuckled as he mentioned that he fancied her name. She gave him a lick on the head, "Why thank you sweet heart, that is very nice of you to say. I myself think your fur is quite dashing." The small tri colored she-cat folded her tiny tail halfway around her paws.

Her voice was soft and flattering as she spoke, feeling buoyed by Swiftkits own words of flattery.

Silentripple

Silentripple followed Gingerfrost's lead searching for anything that would help the frozen cats in camp. She let Cicadapaw go before her so they could keep the youngest cat in the group in the middle where it was safer. I'm not risking any cat with all the deaths that are going on. She scanned the frozen land around the camp only spotting a bunch of dead plants.

He purred, far more loudly then he ever had before! He really liked this she-cat! Squeaking in pride, he looked around the elders den, tail held high. They would make sure this place was the best! It helped more so that it was a super inportant job! Wiggling excitedly, he spoted a bit of moss and pounced on it, ripping it to shreds and looking back at Amberbright. Where was Smallmouse? Jumping over to her, he booped her chin with his nose. "When do we get started!"

Slatestripe curled his lips and prepared for a snarl as he was referred to as Smallstripe. If there was one thing, one thing under the whole of Silverpelt, that he hated more than anything else. And it was any comments about his size. He wasn’t even sure if Smallstripe was a jab at his fur or his actual size, but his sensitivity didn’t care in that moment.

Fortunately, Flintfang came and corrected this annoying clump of fur. He gave a suggestive wiggle of his eyes toward Slatestripe after doing so, making the warrior feel a little hot under his fur. What the hell, Slatestripe?

Shaking his head to clear it, he was relieved to see another face joining them. Larkpaw. The apprentice seemed quiet, but at the moment that was okay with Slatestripe. He cleared his throat. “Let’s give Cloudpaw a few more minutes to show and then we’ll set out either way.” He didn’t want to have to leave without Cloudpaw, but everyone else had arrived in a timely fashion.
