A stern voice broke through the silence within the apprentice's den. "Creepingpaw, get up! We've been summoned by Wolfhive for patrol, wake up!" Lavendersong hissed, normally she was soft-spoken but now was not the time to be lounging. Her icy eyes staring sharply at her slumbering apprentice as Creepingpaw stirred from his nap at the sound of his mentor calling out to him, rolling over onto his paws and stretching his silver and black speckled limbs before shaking himself awake. "Yeah, I'm up, I'm up..." He groggily grumbled before exiting the den to follow behind Lavendersong who had briskly raced ahead of him to join the group at the Undercrag.
The pair sat on their haunches amongst their clanmates while Lavendersong briefly filled in Creepingpaw on what the announcement was. Suddenly, his tired demeanor perked up at the thought of proving himself to his Clan and using this opportunity to get himself one step closer to becoming a hornet. His bright green eyes flickered with anticipation as him, but Lavendersong knew her apprentice by now and could tell she needed to intervene. "You are to stay close to me on patrol, understand?" She hissed in a low tone as she turned her attention back to Wolfhive, her glossy pitch black pelt glistening underneath the beating sun. Not wanting to jeopardize his training, he purred in agreeance and turned his attention to Wolfhive and waited for further instruction. |

Nightgaze Thunderclan Hornet Ohhh, patrol time! It'd been too long since Nightgaze had gone on a patrol! It was driving her mad! Nice to finally get out! And she could train newbie Copperpaw too, as well as show off Thunderclan's territory! With a skip in her step, she bounced over to her apprentice who was the first one to arrive (points to him for being eager!) And gave a friendly smile of greeting. "Hiya, Copper! Ready to see the territory and catch a feast for the clan?" The small hornet asked with a light hearted tone of voice. Of course, she didn't expect him to catch a 'feast', per say, but it would sure be great if he caught at least a plump mouse for someone's dinner! Hmm, but did he know how to hunt? His interactions with Pokey had been minimal since their first meet up when the tom had tried to teach the two moon old the basics of battle. That lesson alone should have been a clear indication of what the former kittypet's battling prowess would amount to in the future - which was to say not much at all - but overall, the chocolate point had earned a degree of like for the mostly silent tricolored tom. They hadn't spoken since. Not to his recollection. Which of course placed him squarely as one of his favorite cats in the entire clan. Angry kept him around plenty, so he assumed the tiny ball of fury was also fond of the warrior, but really, all he wished was for the leader to get some of his milder, calmer, less murderous tendencies to rub on her. After all, unlike The Boulder's littermate, Pokey was a swell, murder free tom. A real rarity among the clan's felines. But it was all wishful thinking, he supposed. Evidently he had been called forward to what amounted as the world's largest hunting patrol. Three cats too overcrowded, as far as he was concerned. Although considering the ridiculous rule in place that there now had to be at least two warriors for every outing - why had he even earned a warrior name at this point - it made sense, he guessed. He just wished they could change away this Whoeverpaw for Snotzilla. He was sure his apprentice would appreciate the outing. Excellent place to practice aerial, tree climbing hunting. His specialty. It was fine. He would simply have to take her there himself later. Preferably when the stupid owl was taken care of and he could head out with her without having to be forced to socialize with a third cat. There was only so much small talk a cat could be forced to do, damn it! While the loss of Mushroompaw would be something he'd still be coping with, he knew this young feline would need to start training asap. He'd have to keep moving because nothing slowed down for grief. He learned that the hard way with his mate at the recent meeting when they replaced Springlight. It would be okay. Spiderthroat. Calling. Treetiger was roused from her basking spot as the voice of her former mentor rung through the clearing. Getting to her paws quickly, the warrior padded over and greeted the deputy with a slow blink. Her green eyes widened a little bit as she processed she was put in charge of a patrol. That's what it meant when your name was called first in the list, right? Right. Confirmation from the entity sent her shoulder fur rippling. Pushing down the anxiety the best she could, she turned to look for the rest of the patrol. "Everyone's gathered?" Sure? "We can start heading out, follow along," Treetiger would try to sound confident in her commands, flicking her tail to lead them out. She could feel her heart racing from the anxiety of this. Are they judging me? Are they watching everything I do? Oh stars, oh stars. A Hornet. Treetiger would glance over her shoulder to now process a Hornet was a part of her patrol. OH STARS. SPIDER WHY. She didn't feel ready enough for this, but tried to her best to lead with confidence. She could feel her entity -- her dark friend -- pressing on her pelt. A comforting thing maybe? Willowfrost padded towards Wolfhive’s call, eager to be able to hunt for her clan again. The scar on her flank from her deadly encounter was still clearly visible, but showed no sign of agitation as she moved. She did seem a bit stiffer, but she wouldn’t let it dampen her spirits.

Antpaw copies the other apprentices and warriors and meows neutrally. He glances behind him to look for his mentor Sunflowerswirl. Things had been awkward with her for a while, mostly on his end- he didn't really know how to interact with her, but that still didn't change the fact that they were apprentice and mentor. On another note, he definitely feels very nervous about the patrol. For his clan and for himself, he needed to make sure it was done as well as possible. No longer would he be a kit, he was a proud apprentice now, and he was not going to bumble about and make a fool of himself. Antpaw straightens his back, trying to appear more confident than he actually was. |

Almost everyone had come... but Wolfhive didn't miss the few who didn't.
"Let me be perfectly clear. I am not as forgiving as Spiderthroat may be when it comes to patrol calls: participating in these activities are some of the bare minimum expectations we have of our Clan-mates. Where Spiderthroat may sling names out and hope for the best, I call you all first before I begin assignments to cut loose anyone who would not have helped you to begin with. "Hollyheart [ @Hollyheart of thunder], Hailpaw [ @Bean], and Cinderfoot [ @Frigost]." Wolfhive's voice raised, loud enough to echo off the den walls. "None of you have come when called, disobeying an order and disregarding patrols our Clan needs to survive. Hollyheart and Cinderfoot, both of you are exiled for the next quarter-moon - I don't want to see either of you in my camp or territory until then, and I expect you to bring back prey to compensate for your laziness. As for you Hailpaw - you're on nursery cleaning duty. I want the beds changed, the floor scrubbed, and if a queen needs something, you're fetching it. Have Softdaisy [ @Rose] come to me when she's satisfied with your work. If I hear nothing from her within the next few days, things will be worse for you." --- IMPORTANT OOC NOTE --- Hollyheart and Cinderfoot have been exiled from ThunderClan until 8/19. Any posts they make around ThunderClan will make them susceptible to being attacked if they do not leave or, circumstances depending, executed. --- This complicated matters to some degree. Cinderfoot's neglect left Willowpaw without a guardian, but thankfully the numbers weren't so skewed Wolfhive couldn't work with what they had. "The rest of you - like I mentioned to those who didn't have apprentices, you're being paired up with another warrior due to all the threats in the woods. We're working on cutting through 'em, but it's a lot at once and we can't completely stall operations just 'cause of it. If they are harmed due to your negligence... it won't be the foxes in the woods you'll have to worry about." Hopefully, since these cats responded to the patrol call, they'd take things seriously especially when paired with seeing punishments issued already. Creepingpaw's ears perked at Wolfhive's instruction for his team. Ah, Willow's rise. He was already familiar with the area so he felt confident he could catch prey in no time. But Lavendersong glanced down at her apprentice by her side with a slight glimmer of concern in her frosty eyes. She could tell by the smug expression plastered over his maw that he was underestimating what they were up against. Her long black fur fluffed in anxiousness, making sure to keep a close eye on him as they began their patrol.
The 16 moon warrior glanced around her fellow clanmates to try and spot Salmonshade. Catching a glimpse of his black and orange patchy pelt, the graceful she-cat bounded towards him with Creepingpaw tailing closely behind upon noticing his mentor padding away. "Salmonshade!" She mewed warmly, dipping her head in respectful greeting to her fellow warrior, "We're ready when you are!" Creepingpaw ears twitched as he slightly dipped his head in greeting, however he remained silent and standoffish as he stared, his eyes deadpan slits. @Tallstar - Salmonshade |

"Spiderthroat!" With the day-by-day patrols largely handled, Wolfhive turned his attention on the Clan's unfortunate deputy. "Don't think I forgot about you old timer. We got a hawk targeting our kits in the clearing again - one scooped Seakit up 'n she's lucky Bumblestar managed to recover her. So your job is to hunt it down and kill it."
A quick sweep of the clearing decided Spiderthroat's patrol buddies. "Shockhoney [ @Rose], Snakepelt [ @rubberRatroom]! You'll be joining Spiderthroat in dealing with our hawk friend. Destroy the nest if you can so others don't move back in. And Spiderthroat..." he side-eyed the crusty tom. "If you don't do this, I'm going to have your kittens swarm you." [ @Starfall ] |

This was making his head spin, StarClan decided that since they could no longer be pushed around by the other clans they'd send some preditors instead? Why not just toss in some badgers to even out the pot. Stretching out his limbs as he rose, Spiderthroat looked up and around. "Do I get to use a kit as bait or did ya happen to see what direction it escaped." he wasn't one to argue. If there was a decent head on shoulders, he'll take orders. It's how he was raised. The clan knows he'll fight back if it's something he disagrees with. |

Her strides were more confident than when they left. Her gaze settled on Spiderthroat and after dropping her catch at the prey pile, she padded up to him to report. "Hunting went decently, and it appears Copperpaw was getting a good lesson in. We did come across a beehive that's hanging pretty low in case the medicine cats need honey," she spoke, her tail tip twitching. "Nightgaze and Copperpaw didn't meet us back at the meeting point, but I figured they were just training a little more extensively or that they'd already came back. I can head back out there and check if you'd like. Maybe grab that honey. Figured it was best I brought back my prey before the predators caught whiff of 'em." With that, Treetiger awkwardly waved her tail, waiting for Spiderthroat to say something. Would he be upset? Would she get punished? Nightgaze was a Hornet wasn't she? cliffjumper caught one more mouse before they had t head back Cliffjumper walked back in they were slightly late with little luck on catching anything only a bird and a few mice the warrior assumed it was the otters maybe or they were just unlucky but even with a small amount of prey it was still prey right? yeah should work out the orange warrior walked in to he camp and set his prey down "Alls well 'n good spider we were a bit unlucky I think the otters had a play in it or we just went at a bad time" he meowed @Starfall (+one robin +one mouse) |

THUNDERCLAN Peachpaw's deep blue eyes are about wide as the moon as he picks his head up, jarred by the distant listing of names, his own among them. Huh? Oh! Wolfpaw's assigning stuff. Patrol stuff. The bobtailed tom is quick to be on his feet and on the way, chin lifted and ears perked attentively. He does his best to look very serious about it all; this'll be his first patrol ever. He cannot screw this up. |

Nightgaze Thunderclan Hornet Purrk: Ultimate predator(inactive) Hurrying into camp and throwing the occasional glance behind her to make sure Copperpaw was still following, Nightgaze threw her mouse onto the pile with the rest of the fresh kill and made a b line for Treetiger and Spiderthroat. "Hiya! Sorry we're late I didn't realise we'd taken so long! Copperpaw did really well, though! Caught a mouse on his first try!" She gave an a rather unbothered but genuine apology and a whole lot of praise to her apprentice. Truthfully, she didn't see a problem with their brief lateness since she had been teaching. Oh well, if someone was going to be grumpy then she wouldn't be too upset about a punishment for not being punctual as long as it was only her. Lavendersong and Creepingpaw, upon hunting with Salmonshade a little more then collecting the fresh-kill they had buried out in Willow's Rise, raced back to camp hurriedly. Glancing behind her briefly, Lavendersong was sure Salmonshade was right behind them after also fetching what fresh-kill he had caught. Between the mouse, rabbit, and kestrel they had caught when hunting seperately and then the extra mouse Creepingpaw snagged while they were altogether, that made 4 fresh-kill total between Lavendersong and Creepingpaw. Not bad, but prey seemed more scarce than usual. Padding back into camp, the pair dropped off their fresh-kill before heading towards the Undercrag to report to Wolfhive. The young queen's frost colored eyes glanced around before spotting the head hornet, feeling her skin warm slightly under her fur as she was enamored with the intimidating warrior. Lavendersong, with Creepingpaw in tow, padded up to Wolfhive gingerly, dipping her head briefly in a respectful greeting, "Wolfhive, reporting back from the patrol party at Willow's Rise." She purred warmly, "Prey seemed rather scarce, Creepingpaw and I only managed 4 fresh-kill. And Salmonshade was able to thwart a vulture that had tried to attack Creepingpaw."
