The calico nodded at Bluepaw's response, "That's great, we can all get started then." Though before they could start fishing, their eyes flickered toward Mossfall, "Hmm alright, I'll go and investigate it, both of you stay here."

Mothdusk slinked over to the den, the scent was rather stale though they carefully stuck their head into it, still smelling stale scents. They slipped out, turning their head toward the others, "It smells stale, whatever or whoever it was is gone by now."

They walked away from the den, I'll destroy it before we head back. They then slinked toward the edge of the pond, hoping that there was still fish big enough in the pond.

The calico apprentice listened to every word that left her mentor's mouth. There was no way she was going to miss anything that could be even remotely useful when she was a warrior. She looked into the water again, careful to move slowly so that nothing would get too scared.

When Slatestripe finished talking, she was looking at him again. She was practically shaking in excitement as she thought of something to say, so he would know she had listened. She couldn't come up with much except for a nod.

Okay. I understand. she said, contradicting herself after she immediately asked a question. How do I strike at a fish? she said with furrowed brows. This may have been a sensible question, but she still felt a bit dumb for asking.

The whole motion took less than ten seconds. He didn’t expect Autumnpaw to be nearly that fast, since she was an apprentice.

Her own amber eyes watched her mentor intently as he spoke, explained, and then fell silent after declaring a demonstration. She sat carefully so she didn't look into the water too much and so she didn't frighten the fish.

When her mentor snapped into the water with a forepaw, she nearly jumped back. But, she had also seen the shine off the fish's little scales. So, she wasn't too surprised. Her white paws flexed her claws into the bank of the pond as she watched him nip it dead. Wow, I have a lot of work to do if I wanna be a warrior like Slatestripe she thought, studying the decent-sized fish. She looked into the water and didn't see much other fish yet.

Can I try? she asked earnestly. She smiled up at Slatestripe and admired his catch with respect and awe. She really wanted to catch a fish. Maybe she could make someone proud.
