Hickoryblaze smiled at her arrival. "We're going to do an assessment of the things you already know- battle training, hunting- which also means fishing, and swimming." He mewed, continuing, "I'm going to use those things so that I know what to teach you!" He added, nodding. "What would you like to do first?" |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Dogear was glad that his apprentice didn't find him boring. He was much like his own mentor in that way. He had once convinced the leader to give him extra duties because he had gotten green cough. As they neared the island he was excited. This was his first training session with his first apprentice.
@SilentLamb |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Somewhat eager to get this over with. Sootpaw ran to a corner on the island. He wanted to train yes, but he was jus too excited about lionsbeach. "by the way, how are you not freezing? It's still...technically leafbare...your practically ... naked..is naked even a word??..it sounds like one. I mean..you have no fur.." he meowed as he sat down for a moment. He was always confused with cats with no fur. How did they function? |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
" I do have fur it's just thin and nearly invisible and how I am not cold, well you know when you go swimming and your body temperature adjusts to the water it's pretty much the same thing" Dogear stated he understood the question he would ask the same if he was in Sootpaws paws @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Humming he gave a shrug. if he says so. "can we start now?......" he asked with an slightly impatient tone. His head lowered a bit as his paws kneaded the ground and his tail swished from side to side slowly. I'm here for a reason....or two..we're just wasting time...I wanna show what I'm made of. And Talking isn't part of it....I already know I'm great at that. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
" Yes we can start now, so try focus on the way your Opponents will move there muscles so then you know where they will attack next but sometimes they will fool you by faking there movements. And from what I understand you want to learn something more advanced right?" He asked looking at Sootpaws face he didn't want to be a boring mentor so he was evaluating what he could handle @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Ears perking up, his head raised at the information being given. sounds simple enough...can't be too hard. "heh, how hard can that be? I'm one of the greatest besides lionstar...and a few others .." he said but mumbled the very last part. Twitching his tail the tom nodded eagerly only to stand . "so what's it gonna be? A slide, swipe and kick? A tackle and twist? I've heard of so many." |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
"You may have heard but there a lot more complexe moves that are very difficult to do" he said as he jumped over Sootpaw swiping his flank as he did so then unbalancing as he landed @SilentLamb
|

Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Feeling ready, the tom made the motion to dodge but he wasn't fast enough . Falling to his side his ears pinned against his head "hey! You didn't give me a chance to react " he pouted . |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
" I was just demonstrating, now do you think you can try that move or do you want to th something else? " Dogear asked his apprentice @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Huffing that's boring ... "what do you take me for?a helpless kittypet? Of course I can do it!" he meowed with a raise of his tail. Grinning as he crouched, the grey apprentice jumped towards dogear. Only to aim at his flank with a semi hard strike. Then uncertainty and doubt snuck throughis this how it went down ?...I don't think I got it right.. he thought with a furrow of his eyebrows . |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Dogear quickly went down and rolled away standing back up less than a tail length away @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple After hearing about the clan meeting ...sootpaw was a bit furious . He couldn't even join the raid at this moment ! He atleast had to have one complete training session . stupid ....stupid ...stupid seeing dogear dodge he hissed. His eyes cold, soot crouched, claws still sheathed of course and quickly leaped at dogear. Hoping to aim an attack to his paws to unbalance him. "begone you wretched shadowclanner! You'll pay for what your deputy has done!" he spat . Of course it was. ..pretend...but he needed to take out his anger some how. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
As Sootpaw hit him he fell to the ground sprawled out on his back and moved to get back on his feet @SilentLamb

@caswshay617 Hickoryblaze nodded in approval. The apprentice was more advanced than he'd thought she was. Though that was a good thing. "Very good! There's a mouse by that tree, can you nab it so I can see your land-hunting skills?" |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Grinning in victory, sootpaw lunged again . His claws were itching to be set free, but he had to remind himself ..this is only training ....this is your mentor ....your clanmate..control sootpaw. With that he forced himself to bottle down his temper and landed infront of dogear and decided to go for a tail swipe near the warriors paws . |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
He immediately stood up falling a swipe to Sootpaw's flank then bugging him on his ear instead then backed away preparing for the apprentice to strike back @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island

Leafpaw crouched and pounced but only was able to get the mouse by its tal" mouse dung" she said |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple The tom, with unbalanced footing . Fell to his side. "um...how did I do?.." he asked as he gazed up at dogear. You could tell he was slightly embarrassed by his...anger outburst . |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
" That was great, you just need to work on the rotation in the air, because that would help your swipe and make it so your landing will be steadier "
He answered as he cleaned of his pelt @SilentLamb |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple rotation in the air....wait...oh ok! Twitching his whiskers the tom gave a smile and got back to his paws. " what's next?" . Then a light bulb lit in his head " question , is creating your own attacks allowed ??" he smiled . |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
" Well I guess, every great attack has to come from somewhere" he answered staring at the young Tom @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Eyes sparking . He quickly thought up of a few random moments and mushed them together in his head "I got one." he announced before crouching . Tail swishing, he dashed toward the older tom and aimed a few soft hits to the warriors head. One on the left and the right .if he dodges...try a quick one leg back kick |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Dogear dodged, trying to avoid the apprentices well aimed blows @SilentLamb
|
Re: RiverClan Training Island
@GrassRipple Huffing, the tom whirled around and aimed another friendly kick at the warriors chest. c'mon ...fall fall fall!.. . Ok perhaps these weren't very creative...they were pretty mainstream . |

Hickoryblaze smiled reassuringly. "That's a mouse-dung too many- don't put yourself down. It's just a mouse, after all!" He mewed, eyeing the mouse. He crouched, bunching himself up. He pounced on the mouse, imitating Leafaw's move by catching it's tail. He reached forwards, pinning it down and delivering the killing bite. "Next time, do that. Wanna show me your battle skills, or swimming next?" |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

"i only know one move for battle training but i am a great swimmer" she said as leafpaw padded into the water swimming both up stream and down stream then padding out and shaking her pelt, after drying off she readied her paws then ran at her mentor sliding under him and giving his a light kick to the chest, she only did it light kick because she didn't want to harm him, then slid out and steadied herself. |

@caswshay617 Hickoryblaze smiled at the young apprentice's swimming skills, notified strong paddle. She was all ready in the swimming state of mind. "Very good! I don't think we have to practice the swimming any longer." He mewed. Hickoryblaze was surprised at her run to attack, and didn't manage to dodge it, but immediately jumped as she kicked at him. The blow missed, but her paw grazed his chest as she finished. "Well- your battle moves need some practice, and as there is a battle coming up we will have to battle train very hard. But your stealth is good! I never would have noticed you." |

Re: RiverClan Training Island
Nightwhisker sat down at an empty spot and gestured with his tail for Rainpaw to sit next to him. "As you know, there will be a raid on Shadowclan soon. You will probably go, too, since you've been training for a while. However, it's always good to practice before-hand so you don't forget yourself when the moment comes."
Rainpaw nodded, pushing down his worries with a deep breath. He... He wasn't the best fighter, but after a lot of practice he should be able to defend himself when if the moment came. All thanks to the encouragement of his friends and mentor. When his mentor stood up a bit away from Rainpaw, he knew to get ready. The tension built until Nightwhisker took the initiative to start, reminding Rainpaw of their first training session. Rainpaw knew better now, though. Instead of waiting for the blow to come, he rushed up to meet Nightwhisker with his paws outstretched. "Don't expose your side," his mentor reminded, and Rainpaw hunched down into a better position to protect himself. Just in time, too- Nightwhisker flew at him from an angle that would have tripped him if Rainpaw hadn't crouched. While his mentor got to his paws, Rainpaw backed to a wall, knowing it would give him momentum for any future attempt at attack. "Don't take your eyes off the opponent," Nightwhisker chided. The session continued in that manner, with Rainpaw trying to get a hit in. Even if he was exhasted, he was happy to have been able to attack once in the end. |

"-We will learn how to get a cat off of you," Dirtfur went on explaining a few defensive moves, demonstrating each move. "Although these defensive moves will defend your clan and yourself," The brown mentor remarked, looking up at Wormpaw and gave him narrowed eyes as if wondering if his apprentice is listening at all. "but it won't be enough; you have to fight against the other clancats!" He stood 3 mouse-lengths away from his last spot. "Or you can blind them or swath them away like this!" he scooped up snow and earth then flung it across at the tall apprentice. "It will be unexpected and surely blind them if it hits their eyes...also it'll be funny if it gets into their mouth." Dirtfur gave a rough chuckle as he explained the usage of the earth and snow. |

@caswshay617 Hickoryblaze studied the apprentice for a moment, trying to recall her move. She'd definitely been over the slide, the run tackle, and the basic hit. She'd have to review all of those, and then they'd move on. "Lets review the moves you used in your moves- the slide, run tackle, and the hit. Once you get those, then we can start on the more advanced things." He mewed. "Stand right at the corner of the clearing, and do the same move you used again. Go on!" |

wormpaw listened eagerly, his eyes following each movement his mentor made. he didn't really understand the importance of protecting himself. considering he was pretty spendable. his purpose was to just protect the clan after all. also to make sure shadowclan stops getting out of line. however he was mainly focusing on what dirtfur was doing and trying to memorize it instead of truly listening to the inspiring words. wormpaw blink, his eyes widen as materials came close to his line of vision-- the apprentice quickly moved his head out of the way, squinting his eyes and furrowing his brows at the warrior. "my eyes are sick enough, preferably don't make them worse, " wormpaw frown deeply, his tail lashing in annoyance. he stood up from his spot, "let's practice now. just listening to rambles won't really help me defend my clan, " |
Re: RiverClan Training Island
Quote:
The mentor licked his chest fur to hide from embarrassment, rambling doesn't help defending a clan much. "Right, sorry," he apologized like an apprentice. "Imagine me as an enemy and I'm going into your camp!" he bounded towards Wormpaw, claws sheathed. |
Re: RiverClan Training Island

wormpaw stifled a chuckle, nodding. he brace himself, waiting for a moment to roll away as dirtfur bounded forward for him. he pulled in his limbs and drop to the ground, rolling away from the attack. he hop back up onto his paws, awaiting for any more attacks from his mentor. |

Dirtfur didn't hesitate as he leapt onto the tall apprentice's shoulder. He fake bites into the shoulder, trying not to make the bite deep and painful. |

The mentor was flung off by Wormpaw's batting at the warrior. "Well done," Dirtfur praised his apprentice. "Now not all enemies will leapt at you, some will past you as if chopped crowfood!" he pawed the dirt towards the apprentice, then explain, "When I walk past you, you will throw some dirt at me, the enemy. Got it?" Taking a tail-length back, he bunched his muscles and sprint passed Wormpaw, their fur barely brushed against each other. |
