Coldpaw
[ 6 moon | She / Her | Wc Tunneller Apprentice | Heightened Perception: Touch ]

As much as she loved her sister, Coldpaw was often (internally) caught disgruntled by her behaviours. Rainpaw, clearly, oblivious to Coldpaw's never-ending internal monologue about her life and actions and the way she sometimes wished the ground would swallow her up or that she wasn't constantly attached at Rainpaw's side for those few moments where her bossiness and controlling nature truly showed. And yet every time Coldpaw actually found herself alone (and lost by extension) she came to regret having wandered from those few familiar areas into the unknown and misses her sister. The time during which Rainpaw was upset with her was some of the worst, to be quite frank, and awfully lonely, and basically Coldpaw had since decided that she wouldn't complain about her sister anymore. She was fine being a follower, it kept her out of unwanted attention. Most of the time.

With that tirade aside, Rainpaw had actually had a good idea today. While Coldpaw was undoubtedly not as close with Leopardsong as Rainpaw was, as Coldpaw found relation with their biological mother as well (unlike Rainpaw), it didn't mean that she didn't appreciate and care for the queen like a parent or guardian, and therefore the silently compliant apprentice was perfectly happy sticking to Rainpaw's side and letting herself be guided into the familiar smelling den. Ah. A result of being less close did mean she didn't get the special nickname, but that didn't hurt her. Nope. It sure didn't (she was, in fact, acting tough. Coldpaw wanted a cute nickname too, woe is her, even if she pretended to think they were dumb or silly and not something she cared about). But it did slightly shift the tone for this meeting, but only briefly as Coldpaw's ears picked up on the warm tone of their mother's voice. While she may not have a special name like Rainpaw, she was greeted with just as much warmth, and that brought a soft smile to her face.

"I have been well, Song-mama. How have you been?"
Her tone was pleasant, if not a little formal. She felt the urge to just plop down and curl up warm somewhere near and take a nap right then and there, or eat something alongside the two because she could use a bite, but the apprentice suppressed the urge and remained polite like she had been taught by her elders. She stood still, letting Rainpaw have the pick of where they would settle, with her ears occasionally angling towards her sister and then back towards Leopard-mama, oops no Song-mama, as Rainpaw called her (there was half a chance the feline would have heard for calling Leopardsong by the same name, but Coldpaw was at a loss of what else would be appropriate in this situation).

Yes she was pretty and radiant thank you and yes good praise Coldpaw too Rainpaw didnt get why but she'd been so grumpy and sour and dour on occasion when they were both pretty and better then everyone but praise always made her feel better so it should do it for her sister. Hmmm.... Rainpaw wasnt really good at the social thing, Leechscar had said so which was SACRILEGE but cats like Leopardsong so maybe her Song-Mama would show her things to handle Coldpaw she didnt know.

Settling down and kinda 'guiding' Coldpaw to be nestled between the queen and Rainpaw the little molly sighed upset, grumbling. "Leechscar taught me hunting after our territory tour but I only caught a mouse and some bird thing. He was sooooooooo bossy" Ironic given who was saying it but then again the older and younger siblings were similar in some odd way "I swear he looooooves grumbling and scolding more then anything else." A giggle "No wonder he's single, he scares the mollies doesnt he! Though its not like anyone would be good enough for him anyways, Id have to make sure theyre right so he doesnt just take the first cat not scared of him." Yes they'd have to be up to snuff and poor Leechscar so alone because obviously his bossyness scared off the mollies (unlike Rainpaws better bossyness) would need her to clear with her amazing judgement.

Honestly it was a rather adorable train of thought from a distance. The tiny younger sister trying to 'protect' her giant fury brother/mentor from bad mollies.

"Coldpaw you hear better then I do," By nature "and Song-Mama you hear all the queen gossip. You have to tell me if someone likes Leechscar so I can check them ok?" Rainpaw would of course be similarly vetting anyone interesting in Coldpaw and Leopardsong as they were also Hers and deserved the best and not some scrub but that went without saying.

Anyways by now the molly had plucked off a good bunch of soft rabbit fur, stuffing it into Leopardsongs nest, to expose the bare prey so the food was ready to eat passing it to the queen first. (She'd started to really enjoy the plucking part of eating, something that appeared polite but was more of a sign of psychopathy)

"Anyways Song-Mama, whats going on in the nursery? It seems quieter now. Oh and Coldpaw hows tunneler stuff, is it muddy down there?" She wanted gossip.

@Moonraven @Estelle

[Aw, poor Cold, I swear Leopardsong gave her nickname, I had it typed!]
They're so cute! As Rainpaw guided Coldpaw in between them, Leopardsong leaned in to give the she-cat's ears a few licks, falling back into her habitual grooming urge. The molly was looking for any grit behind the she-cat's ear. For a blind feline, with a pelt of snow, who dug in dirt, for whatever reason, Leopardsong figured she'd be extra dirty, but perhaps having Rainpaw as a sister made that fact null and void.

That or maybe it was a rule that to hang out with Rainpaw, she must be clean? She could see Rainpaw telling her sister that, not out of meanness or anything like that, Rainpaw simply had a very direct way of speaking and often forgot that other cats had things called feelings... or maybe she just ignored them? Leopardsong had yet to figure that one out. She knew the kit cared, but her assertive way of showing it could come off as rude and bossy.

"It's been quiet around here, aside from kits going in and out, and some gossip here and there. I did bond with little Splashkit over some bossy warrior a bit ago. I think you both and Splashkit would get along well, she'll be joining the apprentices soon." The forever queen was always trying to get the kits friends outside of their usual family group. Of course, she loved the bonds siblings had with each other, but getting some actual friends might brighten their days even more, especially if they happen to have spats with their siblings. She wasn't sure about Coldpaw, but she was certain that Rainpaw wanted some.

She paused in her grooming of Coldpaw to look at Rainpaw as the she-cat went on about training with her older brother. She couldn't help but laugh softly at the younger's word, careful not to be too loud with Coldpaw's sensitive ears. "Raindrop, even if it's true, that's not a nice thing to say about your brother." She breathed after she was done with her laughing fit. "You and Leechscar are a lot alike, so you probably take notice of his bossy nature more than most." Leopardsong knew she was probably barking up the wrong tree with that, but Rainpaw wasn't the only blunt cat in WindClan.

"I've rarely heard Cottonpaw say anything about Leechscar being bossy. He seems to utterly adore your big brother. I'm sure if Leechscar wanted a mate, he'd have no problems finding one... with your approval, of course. Still, I'll make sure to let you know if I hear of any she-cats are interested in him." As tempted as she was to tell Rainpaw to test her theory out by finding a cat the apprentice approves of and setting Leechscar up on a date, she didn't need that grouch biting off her tail for encouraging a little mischief.

"Aside from that, it sounds like you're becoming an excellent huntress, Raindrop. Birds are very difficult to catch for cats full-grown warrior, let alone an apprentice as young as you. I'm so proud of you." She purred to her kit.

The she-cat reached out with her forepaw for the rabbit while coiling her tail around Rainpaw. She took a few bites from it and nudged the prey towards Coldpaw while chewing quietly.

"What about you? Snowflake? How's your mentor? Not as mean and bossy as Leechscar, I hope? Have you learned how to hunt yet?" Leopardsong added some of her own questions after Rainpaw spoke to her. The forever queen's knowledge of Vinesmoke wasn't as extensive as with her best friend. She knew he had earned his warrior name pretty early and had trained under Dustbunny. He was active around the camp and reliable during patrols; despite his young age, he sounded dependable.

OWlpaw hated kits, but eh. She was bored. Soooo she'd found a feather and decided to bring it here. "Tiny tots!! New toy!! Real' int'ractive! Big ol' feather, hehe." Aubs declared, gently brushing the large bird feather with her paw into the air so it would slowly drift down. It was mesmerizing to watch, sort of, and she found herself batting it back up higher in spite of herself. Kit desires. Sigh. But hey!! Games were ALWAYS fun. AAALWAYS.

Cedarpaw padded into the nursery, a mouse clutched in his jaws. He wanted to finally meet his cousins and talk to Rabbitleap about something plaguing him. It was all he could think about recently, and he just wanted it to go away. He couldn't keep thinking that, it could ruin something he didn't want to ruin.

He set the mouse down before calling out softly for Rabbitleap.

Rabbitleap blinked his eyes. Who was this again? Oh jeez he really had got absolutely no sleep with these kits, had he?
"Heya.. Cedarpaw? Thank you for the mouse." He said, blinking his eyes before becoming fully awake. "What do you need?" He asked attempting to move all 8 gremlins over to him. As he moved the tortoiseshell, the kit let out a cry, and soon, they were ALL crying.
"Shoot!" He yelped attempting to lick everyone's head. After they quieted down he spoke again. "Sorry Cedar.." He said giving Lotuskit another lick. "If you want, I can ask another queen to watch them, if you wanna chat outside. The other queens need to.. well.. extend my nest you could say." He meowed lifting his paw up and moving in where a child wasn't.
"So, what do you need?" He asked finally.

When Rabbitleap replied, Cedar sat down across from him, nudging the mouse closer with his nose. He stifled a wince as the kits started to cry, but dear StarClan, they were adorable. Once they quieted down, Rabbit asked about moving, to which Cedar shook his head. He then asked why he was here. Why? He was here to visit—time to say it.

"I-I just wanted to visit you and s-see the kits."

Heathernose shuffled in her nest in the nursery, trying to get comfortable. Normally a more wiry she-cat, having a belly swollen like this was so incredibly uncomfortable! She knew it was coming but still...that didn't make it any easier to adjust to.

Shrikepaw
she/her - 7 moons

"MAMAAA, Soooong mamaa!" The apprentice barrelled into the nursery, with no regards for it's inhabitants (of course, unintenetionally - she simply didn't realise that others may be snoozing). She hadn't spoke to songmama in - well, ages! And that just wasn't on. "Hihihi!" She scampered on over. "How are you?! What have you been doing!?" AAaa she was so excited to tell her about her training, and patrols, andandand - eveything!

Oh dear! Leopardsong sometimes forgot that Rainpaw wasn't the only loudmouth in Twilightstar's litter. The forever queen plastered her ears against her head at the loud greeting, yet her warm smile remained as Shrikepaw darted over. She gave an apologetic glance at the queens in the nursery.

"Birdy, hiya!" The forever queen greeted Shrikepaw as if she were her own, which meant lots of licks and nuzzles. "I've been well, aside from a few new additions to the nursery, it's been quiet, so not too much. Ah, your siblings have dropped by to say hi." She told the apprentice.

"How have you been? Is your training going well? Learn anything cool? Catch anything yet?" The white bengal asked, leaning in to groom the young cat. She loved hearing about how the apprentices were doing with their mentors.

Windclan queen | 48 Moons | Small, ginger she-cat with yellow eyes

Robinflight stretched comfortably in her nest, waking up Crowkit and Cardinalkit as she did so. Perhaps she would do some kind of lesson for her kits today. What would it be? They were getting a little bit bigger... The little ones didn't really seem to be waking, she realized. They were just filling the space in the nest that had been temporarily empty.

Ah, maybe she would just let them sleep.
